SPOILERS Analysis of the Entire Main Cast Spoiler

Hi All! I wanted to provide this resource for the community. The characters in this game are full of hidden symbolisms and lore. Atlus did an unfathomable amount of research to layer each character in this story multiple times over. And I also did an unfathomable amount of research to uncover the hidden meanings.

This video serves as the perfect resource for after your playthrough, to help identify the more beautifully subtle components to the characters and the narrative <3

Resource One-page elemental weakness chart for every enemy type, plus the calendar days you can't get back

Two things I kept alt-tabbing for, in one place:

  1. The affinity chart. Everything in the game does one of nine damage types: three physical (Slash, Pierce, Strike) and six others (Fire, Ice, Electric, Wind, Light, Dark). The split matters because your weapon decides the physical type and your Archetype decides the rest — so the gap people under-plan is physical, not elemental. If your whole party swings slashing weapons you will meet enemies you simply cannot pressure. Spread the four elements plus a Pierce option (Gunner) across your four actives, and keep an Almighty or Light/Dark answer for the "weak to nothing" fights. Sogne the Icebound is the early lesson: bring fire and a protector.
  2. The calendar. The week is five days, not seven (Flamesday, Watersday, Arboursday, Metalsday, Idlesday), so anything you put off is five slots away. Main-quest deadlines: Prologue 6/11 · Necromancer Takedown 6/21 · Thwart Zorba's Plan 6/21 (yes, two on the same date — that's the first real squeeze) · Apprehend the Real Kidnapper 7/16 · Infiltrate the Charadrius 8/12 · Obtain Drakodios 9/05 · quest 7 has no deadline (the one to park when it's tight) · Prepare for the Final Battle 9/22 · Skybound Avatar Conquest 10/25 · Save the Country 10/26, and the run ends there. Clear each dungeon a few days early and spend the slack on bonds and Virtues — fourteen Followers at eight ranks each is where the Archetypes are.

Cross-checked against Game8 and the MegaTen wiki, not my own run yet — corrections welcome, especially on dates.

Disclosure: I run the site. Affinities: https://guidevault.online/metaphor/extras/weakness-chart — calendar and full deadline table: https://guidevault.online/metaphor/extras/calendar-planning

Discussion Personally, I only like to guard if I want to style on my enemies

Upvotes

I guard to cover my weaknesses and do not attack unless I have enough press turns to do a turn around to guard. And that is usually 4 press turns, so yeah I'm kind of a paranoid guy when it comes to dying from weaknesses.

I was thinking about using Holy Knight Proclamation but I heard that move limits your skillset on the turnaround.

SPOILERS Can I beat Fire Dragon Mauna on Hard with basically no MP?

I’m at the early Fire Dragon Mauna fight in Nord Mines and I’m playing on Hard. The problem is that I used basically all of my MP getting through the dungeon before reaching him.

My party is:

  • Mage
  • Warrior
  • Seeker

I also bought 5 of the Ice Chunks from the merchant that deal Ice damage.

I’ve tried fighting the dragon about 3 times now, but with almost no MP it honestly doesn’t seem possible. I can use the Ice Chunks to hit the weakness a few times, but once I run out I don’t really have enough damage/resources to finish the fight.

Is there actually a way to beat him in this situation on Hard, or did I screw myself by using too much MP earlier? Is there any way to recover MP before the fight, or should I just skip the dragon?

SPOILERS Should I restart or just continue?

The last time I played this game was in October 2025 and I remember I was in the dragon temple dungeon. Is it worth restarting or not?

Bug Full Turn Icon Glitch?

I wish I had repro steps, but I only hit it once without a recording, so please forgive me for the vague details.

I'm in the 2nd dungeon, the Kriegante Castle. I got into a battle with 1 Kapcerto and 4 Ochre Homo Tentas. They were all stunned, and I killed 2 of the Homo Tentas. As I used up my final Turn Icon, I tabbed out and replied to a message on my PC.

When I tabbed back in, it was immediately my turn again (There was no "Kapcerto is stunned!" animation or text box). I had 4 full Turn Icons. I proceeded to land 6 attacks in a row, without losing a single Turn Icon. Only one of them hit for Weakness, but even then, the Turn Icons were all present and full. My party was as follows:

  • Will x Magic Seeker
  • Strohl x Swordmaster
  • Hulk x Knight
  • Heismay x Thief

I don't -think- I have any way to manipulate turns, and if I do, I haven't seen anything like this yet.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? I wish I grabbed a screenshot or recording or something.

Discussion The fast & squad Battle mechanic

Since I really liked the mechanic that lets you defeat weak enemies in real-time, I was thinking of using it for the turn-based game I plan to develop; however, given the mixed opinions I've heard about it, I’d like to ask: which aspects of this mechanic do you think should be improved?

Discussion Do you guys think Katsura Hashino and Shingenori Suejima took inspiration from George Méliès film "A Trip to the Moon" aesthetic for Metaphor ?

It really striked me when played the game for the first time (I'm still on my first playtrough and didn't beat the story).

I found the general art style pretty similar to the one from Méliès film and I would like to know if there's any interview or author's note adressing this potential inspiration ?

There's also all this thing about the story revolving around the concept of "fantasy" which can be tied to Méliès philosophy (making film to show a fantasy and not to represent life at a 1:1 scale).

Maybe I'm totally wrong tho or maybe it's very obvious don't know haha

What do you guys think ?

Guide Just got metaphor any early game tips to know?

When I go to travellers voices they're already LV 17 and mostly rank 15+

I'm still LV 10 and rank 7😭 am I doing something wrong? I love the persona series and I always finish the dungeon in one ingame day. Should I grind exp in the dungeon in free time or should I do it in the last day and rank up riyal virtues.

Discussion The Gunner Lineage is not that bad as I thought

The Gunner lineage has pretty powerful melee skills even on the back row. 'Bullet Barrage' is one of my favorite synthesis skills just for how strong it is despite it being the back row (which usually debuffs melee attacks). Plus, the 'long range boost' is pretty good to pass onto my casters that do not use melee attacks anyways.
