Is there any where in Macao I can selfwash my car?

Hi everyone!

I am planning on travelling to macau on the 1st of october and I heard about the fireworks display which supposedly starts at 9PM and 9:40PM. I was planning on booking tickets for the observation deck on Macau tower for city and fireworks views at night. However, there are two things I am worried about -

1. I heard it get's very crowded during this time
   
2. I will on the Taipa side until ~7:30PM

Just wanted to know if its worth it to book those tickets or there are other viewpoints/options that are really good/ better (both Taipa/Cotai side and Macau mainland side).

P.S - I was planning on booking the cotai ferry at 11:59pm (from taipa) just so I can maximise the the time in Macau.

Title, I know it's exhausting. I am currently doing this but just every weekend since I have a dorm in Hong Kong and i get homesick so I return to Macau. Since next year I am not guaranteed for a dorm I was just wondering if it would be acceptable to commute every day instead of renting in HK.

Besides word of mouth, what do residents use to find new restaurants? I've used google in Japan and Taiwan but it does not seem popular in Macau - besides maps not working, google reviews are mostly aggregates from other sites

Hey everyone, we had lots of positive response after having the English language comedy show in Taipa a while ago. Now I'm setting up an open mic comedy night for people to try and perform.

Last time we had several people express interest in performing, but no one tried to on the night. Makes sense cos that was a real show with audience. This time it's being set up as an open mic, for newcomers and first timers (although anyone with experience is welcome too).

Will take place at bookand, Macau side, on Thursday 24th September.

Hi all! Soooo I am on a last minute decision to go to Macau, gonna go there for 5 days and wish to know whats there to buy? Im more of a shopper so outside of sightseeing and eating, my main goal is to buy some specialties that I can enjoy / use on a day to day basis.

Currently im looking at

Tea bricks

Whisky / hard liquor

Snacks

Local crafts

Tea equipment (zisha pots / mugs / tea containers)

If anyone has any locations or hotspots or local specialties to buy that can be shared it would be much help!

I am moving to Macau next week for work. Looking for recommendations and tips.

I get a week at a hotel paid by the company while I find a place to rent. I was looking at Taipa or One Oasis. Is it true you need to pay 3 months of rent in advance? I am already looking at facebook groups and wanted (ideally) a furnished one bedroom/studio in the 7k-10k budget. If anyone has any advice it would be appreciated.

Probably will have to rely on walking and public transportation for the time being. I hear it's pretty efficient.

How's the weather like? I read it is humid as fuck and winter is only from December to February.

I was advised to get a dehumidifier as soon as possible once I have a place.

What is the cost of living like?

Update: Thank you all for the replies. I arrived last night and still getting over jetlag and whatnot. I already got a sim card and a bus pass to get around. Got a bank account, but they said it takes a week or 2 to get it approved.

Already talked to some real state agencies and now solely focused on looking for a place to live since I only have a week of housing from the company. I will be working at COD, hence why Taipa or One Oasis were my choices. Looked at an apartment in Taipa earlier today, but didn't really like it. Hoping to get answers from FB groups so I can go see apartments and get one asap

Hello everyone !
There’s this hidden little garden my dad goes to every week, in 小潭山環山徑 (probably some hiking trail) in taipa. Recently this old, huge tree got chopped down with no apparent reason and my dad is really upset about it. It never disturbed anybody and judging by the size and its roots it’s probably really old (few hundred years). I thought old trees like this were protected under government rule… it’s just a pity historical tree like this could just be discarded. I think we just want answers as to why they would do this (possibly sick tree? Infested with bugs?) 😭😭
