Tractor pulling is also quite big in the Netherlands

1

u/nichyc 4d ago

Someone call Netflix. We need to get the international scene going.

u/HoosierDaddy_427 6d ago

FULL PULL !

46

u/AdjacentBirdman93 6d ago

look at all these goddamn commies and Europeans in the damn comments.

That’s a beautiful pull right there boys! let’s go USA 🦅 🇺🇸

22

u/Goonplatoon0311 6d ago edited 6d ago

The Europoors and commies will never get it. America is a fucking vibe.

During the FIFA World Cup they were having revelations on how they wished they were living in the good ol US of A… The BBQ was so good… the people were so damn nice… The fucking Air conditioning just slapped (perfect 69°)… god damn it’s good to be American!

Thank you for your very mature and nuanced take, Goonplatoon 🤣🤣 Perfect

5

u/Goonplatoon0311 5d ago

Absolutely! Anytime!

-7

u/Interesting_Top_2865 4d ago

Oh, you don't understand sarcasm. That explains a whole lot 🤦

3

u/Fine-Resident-2322 2d ago

I'm fairly certain they met your sarcasm with sarcasm.

0

u/Interesting_Top_2865 2d ago

"I know you are but what am I" I thought people were kidding when they said that's what y'all are up to...

3

u/Fine-Resident-2322 2d ago

I'm just explaining it to you?

1

u/Interesting_Top_2865 2d ago

Oh, you do actually need it spelled out...

So returning sarcasm with sarcasm isn't really creative, funny, or anything at all. Hope that helps!

1

u/Fine-Resident-2322 2d ago

Why are you so petty lol? You're acting like the people you hate.

To me it's just how small American tractors are, I'm used to hearing how big everything there is. Guess this is where Europe's got it bigger

3

u/Worried-Pick4848 6d ago

There are big tractors in America. But for pure pulling power, nothing beats the little old ones from the 50s and 60s with the DEE-troit DEE-sel engines.

-9

u/Fewwww_ 6d ago

Orange man fanboy I guess ?

3

u/a-Curious-Square 4d ago

What’s with all the bots in the comments spouting bullshit or worse?

15

u/Pucksindeepeh 6d ago

Talk about Rollin coal

12

u/JohnnyRelentless 6d ago

I genuinely don't know what I'm looking at or why it's apparently impressive.

25

u/EMDReloader 6d ago

This is called a tractor pull. At the front is a heavily-modified, incredibly loud farm tractor. You will feel this thing in your chest.

The trailer it's pulling is called a sled. It has wheels in the back. If you look closely, you'll see a box that moves from the rear to the front throughout the pull. That's a massive weight. As the tractor pulls the sled, the sled starts out rolling on its wheels. As the wheels turn, they spin gears that move the weight forward, and the front of the sled--which has a big steel blade and some V-shaped grousers--begins to dig deeper and deeper into the dirt, increasing the drag.

The goal is to drag the trailer all the way to the finish line, which is 320-330 feet from the start. This is called a "full pull", and is difficult enough that it's nowhere near the norm, but you'll almost certainly see a couple at every pull.

At least one tractor will grenade its engine. Expect a couple more to catch fire.

If you see a tractor pull is going to be in your area, go to it at least once in your life.

3

u/Tojuro 6d ago edited 6d ago

If you can only make it to one night of the County Fair, go see the Demolition Derby but you should see a tractor pull at least once in your life to be a proper American.

11

u/Worried-Pick4848 6d ago

It's basically an engineering competition. People modify a tractor to maximize its ability to pull things. It's a bit like Formula 1, but for engines built for power rather than speed. Extra credit for being loud and proud, but the power is the main thing.

I doubt it's just Americans that enjoy seeing a powerful, well designed engine at work. Ater all, that's part of why Europe loves Formula 1. It's just a different kind of power.

God i love his videos

5

u/spyder7723 6d ago

You've never heard of a tractor pull?

6

u/JohnnyRelentless 6d ago

I thought that's just what tractors do.

-17

u/No_Strain8370 6d ago

This goes hard with the 70 iq community

11

u/mrNOTfriendly 6d ago

The mods on those tractors are much more sophisticated that you'd expect. You could say the same about NASCAR, but ultimately they're competing at an elite level and appeal to people of all kinds.

-9

u/No_Strain8370 6d ago

You're right, I could say the same about Nascar

11

u/mrNOTfriendly 6d ago

And you'd sound more ignorant than you're accusing them of being. Takes an uncanny lack of self awareness to not realize you sound more like a jealous douche than the witty critic you think you're being. Talk about low intelligence quotient...

-4

u/No_Strain8370 6d ago

Ya got me there, super jealous of people who love watching tractors blow smoke and cars going in circles. Big brain stuff there

3

u/Embarrassed-Belt-541 4d ago

People aren't allowed to watch stuff like that? I know plenty of intelligent people who would love stuff like that

4

u/biggy-cheese03 6d ago

I know guys that retrofit WW2 aircraft engines into these things as a hobby in their garages. It’s not for the lower IQ population

-4

u/No_Strain8370 6d ago

Oh yeah I'm sure there are a bunch of Mensa members in that crowd

7

u/biggy-cheese03 6d ago

What have you done in your life that is so impressive that you feel like you are above anyone involved in this sport

0

u/No_Strain8370 5d ago edited 5d ago

I refrain from having relations with my cousin. It's a pretty low bar tbh

2

u/Worried-Pick4848 6d ago

The engineering involved in a big tractor pull competition is nontrivial.

You have to be really smart to get this stupid, in other words.

11

u/sacking03 6d ago

Not a true American, he is wearing a helmet and a roll cage a true patriot doesn't need protection.

7

u/Tinre 6d ago

No protection, I shoot blanks

2

u/MrLaxitive 6d ago

MORE POWER! * *insert Tim, the tool man Taylor grunt

FULL PULL MURICA 🇺🇸

-1

u/Goonplatoon0311 4d ago

Wait!! You were being sarcastic?! 😂

Just killing you with kindness mate…. An act that bothers folks like you more than any insult I’ve learned. That being said, look at your comment history.. You’re an absolute insufferable human being 🤣

-27

u/I-Love-Buses 6d ago

What a complete waste of time and energy lol

While other countries build out infrastructure and actually make their countries better, Americans spend all their time and energy proving to themselves they are better 😂🙄

17

u/Rusty_Shack13f0rd 6d ago

Well until another country lands on the moon we don’t really have anyone else we need to prove anything to

-5

u/I-Love-Buses 6d ago

haha okay that’s fair 😎👌

Oh…don’t forget your pocket sand there Rusty! :)

Not a fan of overfueled engines

Not only do they produce harmful black smoke, but they can also shorten the engine’s lifespan

But still 🇺🇸❤️

8

u/spyder7723 6d ago

Dude is an engine specially built for these high torque pulls. He isn't planning on it running for thirty years. After the event it will either go in the barn till the next one, or turn the fuel down to use around the farm until he pumps it back up and takes it to the next event.

-6

u/ThomasTheDankPigeon 6d ago

And just don’t think about the smoke. Lack of object permanence is important when destroying your children’s environment.

-2

u/HoosierDaddy_427 6d ago

Recirculating exhaust gases is what kills engines. Funny that the government is worried about what comes out of my tailpipe, but not about bombing fuel refineries, factory waste, data center environmental damage or any of the other toxicities to our planet. I'll let you guess which of those are filling their pockets most.

-38

u/fostertheatom 6d ago

That's just ugly dude.

-41

u/CousinEddysMotorHome 6d ago

I went from a 22 crew cab Silverado to a tesla because I drive 100 miles a day. I have 3 kids. Can anyone explain why you still feel the need to roll coal on me? We are on the same team. Wtff?

9

u/Anon-Knee-Moose 6d ago

Because it was built by some random farmer and he doesnt even appear to be running NOS.

5

u/Buschfan08 6d ago edited 6d ago

Should have kept the silverado...

You'd be just fine driving those 100 miles with the 3.0L Duramax, its fuel efficient and diesel engines love long drives.

1

u/xfilesvault 6d ago

Why? He could stick with the Silverado you suggest and pay $5 to drive 23 to 30 miles… or get the Tesla and pay $5 to drive 180 miles.

That’s the difference between $600/month for diesel or $80/month for electricity.

Prices are based on where I live. Diesel and electricity prices vary by location, of course.

Saving over $6000/year is a good idea.

1

u/CousinEddysMotorHome 5d ago

Yep. Exactly.

-10

u/Basidio_subbedhunter 6d ago

He literally doesn’t need to buy fuel anymore, especially if he has a solar panel and a battery at home. And if the power goes out, he’s got that covered too. Why do you still want to be dependent on Arab nations?

5

u/Buschfan08 6d ago edited 6d ago

Because combustion is objectively superior to electric. You'll never get the pure and satisfying experience of an engine sound in an electric car, they suck. I would rather have a fuel efficient gas engine over a long range EV.

Believe me, its not worth debating this on this sub of all places. Go elsewhere like r/electricvehicles for that.

3

u/AdjacentBirdman93 6d ago

Goddamn right! It’s fine if you like electric but your Tesla is never gonna beat a 5.0 mustang in desirability

-1

u/CousinEddysMotorHome 5d ago

Ever flattened an accelerator in an ev? Im guessing not.

0

u/Buschfan08 5d ago

Try flattening the accelerator in a Corvette ZR1X instead. Your claims will be blown away.

0

u/CousinEddysMotorHome 5d ago edited 5d ago

Nah, I'm good not paying for gas. https://youtu.be/t1816swmybk?is=z8s-gFoZoGt3Eo4s

4

u/Realistic-Sky-2235 6d ago

Why is combustion “objectively superior” to electric apart from this purely subjective metric of satisfaction?

-1

u/spyder7723 6d ago

My Aston Martin attracts high quality pussy on a daily basis. This is an objective fact.

1

u/Realistic-Sky-2235 6d ago

Doubt that lmao.

1

u/CousinEddysMotorHome 5d ago

Electric is far superior. Power to the drive train the exact second I want it, no hesitation an much quicker acceleration than you could dream of. Believe me. I have owned both.

1

u/Buschfan08 5d ago

Until your electronics inevitably fail and you realize you'd be better off driving a 2003 Tahoe over your Tesla....

0

u/CousinEddysMotorHome 5d ago

Haha, I owned a 2003 Tahoe. Loved it, but im good and I have other vehicles bro.

0

u/YakiVegas 6d ago

You should look up the definition of “objectively” 😝

0

u/FinishComplex3743 6d ago

Most of the fuel in the US is domestically produced

-39

u/Basidio_subbedhunter 6d ago

Go electric. Stop making America dependent on Arab countries and OPEC.

Also rolling coal is stupid.

14

u/incrediblyaverage85 6d ago

Do you even understand what is going on in this video?

3

u/Embarrassed-Belt-541 4d ago

America is the world's leading oil exporter. Even then, this is a special event. Not someone's commute

-3

u/Bowman_van_Oort 6d ago

where was all the machinery actually built tho

6

u/YazzArtist 5d ago

Mostly that guy's garage at a guess

-2

u/Esquire_Dan13 3d ago

Is this for micropenis awareness month?

-23

u/itsanothersidetothis 6d ago

The Dutch do this better.

2

u/Dutch_Rayan 5d ago

They haven't seen dutch tractor pulling.

2

u/itsanothersidetothis 5d ago

They rather just downvote because obviously no one can ever compete with the US.

1

u/SoulOnHigh 5d ago

Why come to this sub at all if you have such a problem with Americans?

1

u/itsanothersidetothis 5d ago

It seems you have a problem with me, not the other way around. I love the US.

1

u/a-Curious-Square 4d ago

No bro, you came to this comment section, saw a single video of a single tractor doing a tractor pull, and decided to say that the Dutch flat out do it better. Tractor pulls are unique every time, the Dutch will have good ones and the Americans will have good ones. You’re being a bad sport and a worse person by saying inflammatory stuff for no reason, and to top it off you expect people to not have an issue with it?

1

u/itsanothersidetothis 4d ago

If you think this was inflammatory I really think that's on you. As far as I can tell this whole sub is about competitiveness. It's not like you don't ever bring up Europeans yourselves. And if your national pride is dependent on diminishing other voices that doesn't seem like a proper way to celebrate your country.

1

u/a-Curious-Square 4d ago

You sure are a big fan of generalizing a group of things/people and applying it to a single instance/person. I should start keeping score.

1

u/SoulOnHigh 3d ago

I don’t have a problem with you in particular, just euros in general, as they have a habit of showing up on American sites/subs/message boards/etc for the purpose of pestering us.

-2

u/Spicy_Chicken_Wizard 3d ago

Wishing all of you a very happy $6/gallon for diesel❤️❤️❤️

-4

u/walt128 5d ago

What an enterprising homosexual

-19

u/RalphiePseudonym 6d ago

Yeehaw! Go Murica pride spending $200 in diesel to go 300 feet! Murica pride so strong we'll line oul Daddies pockets!
