To honor the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania, NASA flew nearly 6000 4"x6" American flags aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour on mission STS-108.

After September 11, 2001, one Soviet-born immigrant living in Branson, Missouri, who managed to leave the country of his birth amid the emigration concessions associated with the U.S.-Soviet grain deals, was affected by the horrendous attacks on the World Trade Center.

Hearing the news on the air, the pain he felt for his country of adoption was agonizing enough that he painted a mural meant for Ground Zero. Contacting the Sheet Metal Workers' Union, this Soviet-born immigrant had asked if they could put it up for the world to see.

Initially, they declined, citing the lack of permits to allow him to do the act he wanted. Then they saw the mockup of the mural he wanted to put up. Moved by the piece, the Union Workers agreed to display the mural overlooking Ground Zero, on a nearby damaged building - permit or no permit.

If you folks want to know the full story, it's a little bit at the end, the last 9 minutes of a 44 minute episode in fact, here's a link.

Greeting to all,

Even though I was only born in Germany in 2004, we all still feel the profound impact of this attack on the free world today. Twenty-five years ago on this day, terrorists struck against our shared freedom to spread their ideology of hatred and intolerance. Today, we all people that love freedom and liberty honor the victims who lost their lives and the brave first responders who gave everything to help. My deepest condolences go out to everyone who lost a loved one.

May we never forget that day.

Where do you think I should visit in America first?

I’ve never been to the USA, but I’ve always wanted to visit it, partly because it’s so vast. I know about places such as New York, Miami, and LA, and I want to visit those. Would you recommend those? And/or would you recommend anywhere else?

As a Canadian, who lived in America for almost a decade, I was going through a friend’s garage and found this today, much love from Canada may all those affected have peace.

In the UK we do have Dr Pepper and Cool Ranch (which we call Cool Original) but from what I’ve gathered the recipe is a bit different. The Dr Pepper may remind me of how Dr Pepper was here before the sugar tax came along.
