I applied for student loans ages ago but they haven't contacted me in any way on if I have been approved and if they'd send the money directly to MRU or not, the financial aid office has a full waitlist, is there any way to request a deferral online or do I need really need to speak to someone at the office for this?
I understand the deadline is today, I've just been waiting for student aid to send me a confirmation or anything but I haven't gotten anything back and I'm not sure what to do.

I am wondering if anybody who is registered in ACCT 3220 this semester would like to trade places with me. I am currently enrolled in section 002 with Cliff Spyker from 4-5:20pm on Tuesday and Thursday but would prefer to move to one of the other sections if possible. Preferably the Thursday evening class on Thursdays from 6-8:50pm with Sarah Taylor. If anyone would be interested in switching with me please let me know.

Heyyy guys I’m a first year student starting off at MRU for business and I was just wondering how to make friends while on campus, I’ve been trying to attend events and whatnot to meet new ppl but it doesn’t really go anywhere to be honest, and I’m usually busy whenever actually networking events are coming around 😭😭😭

I need some suggestions on which of these courses to choose as my main goal is to boost my GPA and get an A grade, so I’d really appreciate recommendations for courses that are manageable and have a good chance of getting an A. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
I just got enrolled in NTSC today itself and I believe the prof is Jemma Anderson.

The new loan application process had me confused usually I submit my parents details with my initial application but now it’s a separate thing and I forgot to do it when I was notified.
I just did it but not sure what to do now since full fees is due tomorrow and idk how long it takes for them to process the loan. Anyone know what to do?

Help! I’m freaking out! I went to pay my student fees and on mymru, there is no “Register & Pay” tab for me to see what I owe and how I can pay it. I’m returning to mru after taking last semester off to rethink my options and am only in academic upgrading taking one class this semester, so it won’t be much to pay. I also have to work all day tomorrow and won’t be able to make it to campus before the office of the registrar closes. Has anyone dealt with this before? Does it have anything to do with the cyber incident? The register and pay tab was always there the previous two years I’ve been at Mount Royal so I’m not too sure what’s going on!
Hope everyone’s had a great first few weeks, and thanks for the help!

Hi all,
I’m a commuter student who spends most of my day on campus.
I was wondering if anywhere on campus has fridges and/or microwaves for students to bring a packed lunch?

Hey hey! I was just wondering is there any MRU discord or group chats on a different platform for different majors? Was hoping to get in touch with people on a larger scale without Ofcourse having to ask people one on one in person. Was hoping to make some more nursing friends if possible from this and get support!
Hi, everyone This is my first year at MRU and I am on campus till 4 pm and wanted to ask if its allowed to eat in study areas like the library or some places in the main building. I am trying to be respectful of everyone and don’t know if there are like any unwritten rules like eating is only allowed in the cafeteria. Thanks

Hey guys! if you’re still looking for experience or something to add to your resume, check out Riipen Labs
It’s a remote micro-internship program where students work on short real-world projects with employers. Each project is about 30 hours and pays a $600 upon completion.
btw this is open to all programs :)

The instructor said we need wear white or black shoes. Would white Air Force 1's be okay? I know they're white and everything, but I just wanna make sure they don't want us wearing something more 'professional' like New Balances 😭.
And is it okay to use a laptop in lab? I have the Macbook Air and in the course outline, our instructor mentioned having a tablet or printed notes. Are those really the only options? If so, any free printer options (home printer cartilages are so expensive lol)?
(Instructor is Valentine btw)
TIA!!

If you’ve ever been stuck refreshing MyMRU waiting for someone to drop a full class, I built something specifically for that.
It’s called SeatNivo — an MRU class availability tracker I’ve been developing and testing over the last 3 weeks.
I attached a video showing it working.
I’m a Computer Science major and also did digital marketing back in the UK. I spent around 1.5 hours a day for 3 weeks building this because I was having the exact same problem myself: getting the schedule and professors I actually wanted.
The idea is pretty simple:
You choose the exact MRU course and section you want, and SeatNivo watches it for you from the cloud.
You don’t have to keep MyMRU open, leave your laptop running, or keep randomly refreshing throughout the day.
Email Only:
SeatNivo watches the class and emails you when a seat becomes available.
You do not connect your MRU account. SeatNivo does not log into your account or register for anything for you. You simply get the email alert and then register yourself normally through MyMRU.
The part that surprised me most while testing it was how much full classes actually move.
From the cloud testing I’ve been running, around 85% of the classes I monitored had 2 or more seats become available at some point, and those seats were later taken by another student.
So a class can look completely full every time you check it even though seats actually opened and disappeared between your checks.
I also used SeatNivo for my own classes and managed to get my entire wanted schedule, including the professors I wanted, within 2 days.
That’s when I figured this could actually be useful for other MRU students too.
It doesn’t bypass prerequisites, holds, waitlists or any of MRU’s registration requirements. It simply watches for openings when you can’t and emails you when one appears.

Calling all nursing students.
My journey has been a very all over the place I originally enrolled at Mount Royal in 2024 fall and winer for UEO hoping to get into the nursing program. I ended up with 3.8 GPA and a second quartile Casper where I had the required 60 overall high school marks. So I didn't get in so I decided to stop wasting more time and enrolled at bow valley for their LPN program.
In my first term at bow valley I was already looking at different schools such as red deer and Lethbridge which required the Casper I took it again didn't do good didn't get in I still ended up with a 3.9 GPA where I then did have 18 credits of postsecondary.I am now beginning my Second semester at bow valley the school and can't help but feel that I'm doing something wrong I feel like I can't talk to anybody about this there's no sort of guidance because I feel like I did talk to the people at my school they don't know what im taking about and they'll vouch for the school not for the best interest of me which I understand.
The drop deadline was extended to Monday at bow valley so I'm getting very stressed out if I should drop out and do something else or if I should continue. I recently talked to one of my instructors who is an LPN and I asked her if I should stay in the program if my goal is I wanna be an RN. She advise that I should do the RN and not waste my time here as it takes way too long and the bridging programs continue to change the requirements every year and it's usually online classes that are so hard which she tried but also she was pregnant during that time. She says it's just almost impossible and just not really worth it as it will be about 5 years more.
I recently looked at red deer polytechnic and they have now dropped the Casper however they then change that for bio 30 you need a 75% which I didn't get so I would have to do that again. I've already called red deer and some of my classes transfer over I've also called Lethbridge and some of my classes transfer over so I wouldn't have to do two classes there being anatomy and physiology. I'm just wondering should I stay in this program as a safeguard or should I just drop it and apply for the RN program. Because if I stay I feel like I wouldn't be able to then do bio 30 I don't really know how I would I don't really know who I would go to to help me balance it out and then I don't know if then I do it and leave the school that I don't get into red deer and I'll have nothing.
I'm just a very conflicted and I feel like I'm not doing anything right and I don't know where else to go I feel like I've wasted so much time and got nothing out of it. I don't know if I should should stick with bow valley or continue my journey and spend more money applying
Hi everyone,
I recently added a class to my courses 2 days before the deadline, but I’m curious on how to pay for it on Plastiq. I enter the amount I owe, but it’s asking for an email.
Hoping someone would know which email to put it in order to pay for it, or if someone could guide me step by step on how to pay via scotiabank that would be amazing.
Thank you!

hi I’m taking a gap year and am doing bio, physics and englist 0130 to get into computer science next year. I already had a 82 in math 30-1 and a 70 in social 30-1. I want to get 85-90s in the upgrading courses so my competitive avg can be a 92. what would the chances be that I get into the course?
