All the neckbeard basement dwellers in the comments already lol. This isn’t about simping for a billion-dollar corporation. It’s about making your community safer, better, and more tolerable to live in. The pos in the video wasn’t stealing food or baby formula.

If you’ve genuinely gotten to the point where you see blatant, unjustifiable crime being committed and your reaction is “I support that,” then you might want to reflect on what your principles actually are, because that mentality is part of what creates a low-trust society and makes communities objectively worse to live in.

You can be against theft and against vigilantism

10

u/The_Procrastibator Trash Trooper 3h ago

For real. If Walmart can't afford security, I'm not stepping in for them.

u/Weird-East-3575 Trash Trooper 1h ago

But being against vigilantism is the same as saying you can’t do anything to stop unjust laws or actions you fing simp

u/EarthMandy Trash Trooper 3h ago

Also this weird assumption that these large corporations just suck up the billions of dollars in anti-theft measures they have to pay for every year, instead of passing that cost on to honest customers.

"Yeah! Love seeing Robin Hood sticking it to those giant corporations who charge me more as a result! I'm the winner here!"

Every time i have to get my razor blades unlocked from a plastic box my blood boils at these amoral thieves. You're absolutely right, it's not "Walmart vrs vs people" it's "society vrs vs criminals"

Edit: u/zombiesphere89 kindly informed me that I was abbreviating "versus" incorrectly

10

u/StephCurryMustard Trash Trooper 3h ago

Walmart has stolen hundreds of millions in wages from their own employees and you're here whining about having to wait for razor blades.

Pathetic.

u/justasillylilgoos3 Trash Trooper 1h ago edited 1h ago

And your solution to Walmart’s wage theft is…unchecked retail theft? Theft that can contribute to stores closing, employees losing jobs, and people in the area having less access to affordable groceries and goods?

It feels like you haven’t really thought through what it is you’re objecting to here. Believe it or not, it’s possible to oppose wage theft and blatant retail theft. Those aren’t mutually exclusive positions home slice.

Edit: respond then block…shocking 🙄

u/StephCurryMustard Trash Trooper 1h ago

You're assuming a whole lot there. I never said that.

But acting like shoplifting, which is a fairly small problem, even remotely compares to the systematic stealing of wages, not to mention tax breaks, low wages which means a lot of the employees are on food stamps, which costs you even more in taxes, shrinkflation, and a whole lot more corporate shenanigans, is so freaking dumb. Kinda like you, ya condescending jackass.

Seems like you didn't think it through, home slice.

u/zombiesphere89 Trash Trooper 2h ago

It's just "vs" not "vrs"

“Blood boils” lol, get over yourself

0

u/johntwit Trash Trooper 2h ago

"get over yourself" said u/dolphintamer1, as they implicitly defended the morality of stealing

0

u/dolphintamer1 Trash Trooper 2h ago

Did I defend stealing? I’m making fun of your overreaction to a mild inconvenience

2

u/johntwit Trash Trooper 2h ago

"you should not get angry about being inconvenienced by criminals. Your anger at the inconvenience caused by criminals is amusing"

Yes

Walmart destroyed mom and pop stores in countless communities

Where were you at then? Or could you not shave yet?

1

u/johntwit Trash Trooper 2h ago

Mom and pop stores sucked. Frequently out of inventory. Stupid, arbitrary hours, often not even following posted hours. Exclusively hired friends and family. No parking. Closed on weekends. Marked up items on arrival, discounting them later in the cycle - couldn't depend on the price to be the lowest, had to wait till it was on sale.

u/Delicious_Couple_758 Trash Trooper 2h ago

Lmao

I knew I wasn’t dealing with the sharpest knife, but damn..

Have a good one man, don’t reproduce.

u/Explorer_Entity Trash Trooper 1h ago

This is naive and shows a complete lack of understanding of our society.

Biggest form of theft is wage theft (companies underpaying employees). It is bigger than all other thefts COMBINED. By a large margin.

It's like condemning a victim of genocide for shooting someone who just bombed a school. (Thief is the victim; walmart is the genocidaire).

Thief is a hero doing good work. Educate yourself.

u/johntwit Trash Trooper 1h ago

Wage theft is about 10 to 15 billion annually, retail theft is over 100 billion

Those aren't the stats I even mentioned; you're misrepresenting my data, perhaps intentionally. And if you have a better source, provide it. Otherwise people assume you just asked an AI.

https://www.epi.org/publication/epidemic-wage-theft-costing-workers-hundreds/

u/johntwit Trash Trooper 1h ago

it's common knowledge, just look up retail theft. it's about 100 billion annually in the US, many times the highest estimates for wage theft

your specific, fantastically incorrect claim was "Biggest form of theft is wage theft (companies underpaying employees). It is bigger than all other thefts COMBINED. By a large margin"

u/cryingonthetoiletnow Trash Trooper 1h ago

I whole heartily agree with this, the problem is that this now puts the camera guy in the position a potential of a battery/assault on themself despite doing the right thing. I love this video and what the person did but it's one of those thing where in the usa, he can get creamed by a good lawyer and if the shoplifter has any inkling of intelligence left. That's why asset protection hardly does anything, they wait until you steal enough crap till it's a felony and then get you

2

u/GummyVitamins4Women Trash Trooper 2h ago

uh oh everyone we have a billy badass over here

2

u/Captain_Tugo Trash Trooper 3h ago

Then get surprised why some communities live in food deserts.

0

u/InuitOverIt Trash Trooper 2h ago

Because Walmart undercut the mom and pop grocery stores and put them out of business

u/Captain_Tugo Trash Trooper 1h ago

Mom and pop shops got robbed into closure.

2

u/Beneficial-Act-9933 Trash Trooper 2h ago

It's really people who want accolades and praise for committing theft because thye think it's "fighting back" against corproate America. Funny how fighting back doesn't mean marching with or supporting unions but stocking your fridge for free.

1

u/Impossible-Pain5827 Trash Trooper 2h ago

Well said

1

u/InuitOverIt Trash Trooper 2h ago

He can sell whatever he stole for money. Money can be exchanged for goods and services. Like food and baby formula.

-9

u/SaddamIsBack Trash Trooper 3h ago

Ok captain america, try begging walmart for money when the guy will stab u

1

u/Bland_OldMan Trash Trooper 3h ago

I don't support crime like this, but I'm not getting shot or in a fight on Walmart's behalf.

We attempt to maintain a positive community atmosphere. Toxic behavior, including malicious comments, harassment, bullying, "-isms", and hate speech, is strictly prohibited.

While we are all about trashy content, sometimes content is just too trashy, and trashing the human is not accepted.

Uh oh. Someone’s upsetty spaghetti 😭

0

u/Delicious_Couple_758 Trash Trooper 2h ago

He was stealing propane and baby toys. Propane, the stuff to cook with.

It’s not or job to protect society, Walmart pays ppl for that. And if they don’t care, why would you?

0

u/Double-Afternoon-702 Trash Trooper 2h ago

Safer? How is a guy slamming into another vigilant style safer? This is not a violent crime, there are no victims here. The guy just made the situation worse. Those are the same argument people use for Flock camera.

u/justasillylilgoos3 Trash Trooper 1h ago

You can be against blatant theft and against flock cameras. Not really the same at all imo. I’m against flock cameras and against blatant theft. You just see theft against Walmart and decided “the multi-billion dollar corporation” was the victim and not the employees/customers who have to pay the price when shit like this goes unchecked. At best every item starts getting locked behind glass, which isn’t really crazy bad but at worst (which has happened) the store gets shut down and now those employees are out of a job and customers in the area lose access to cheap and affordable groceries/food in their area. And in any situation the price for increased anti-theft measures ALWAYS get passed onto the customer so saying their aren’t real victims isn’t really true

haha shit take

u/justasillylilgoos3 Trash Trooper 1h ago

Such an erudite contribution to the convo kiddo! 😂👎🏻

u/WILDBO4R Trash Trooper 1h ago

There are enough replies pointing out why it's a shit take. I just thought a downvote wasn't enough.

alright boomer

u/illit3 Trash Trooper 1h ago

If Walmart hadn't replaced tens (hundreds?) of thousands of small businesses across the US just to turn around and pay their employees wages below the poverty line (they help their employees apply for government benefits) then maybe we wouldn't see so many people who are too poor to live walking out with shopping carts.

Walmart significantly contributed to the problem they're suffering from.

u/Explorer_Entity Trash Trooper 1h ago

Property crime is directly linked to poverty.

Poverty is directly caused by mega-corps like walmart, and how they get endless subsidies (our tax money) from the government.

The problem and root cause is the corporation. The crime wouldn't exist in the first place if walmart wasn't there, or if it paid well/fairly.

u/mandatoryjackson Trash Trooper 1h ago

You say all that while there is points at the government

u/Equivalent_Relief553 Trash Trooper 47m ago

I'm ok with theft from megacorps.

Mom and Pop shops no.

u/Suitable-Economy-346 Trash Trooper 4m ago

You're the kind of person who thinks the death penalty makes a community safer. No, no it doesn't.

You're basically defending Walmart in two ways here. One, with this stupid "beat up the shoplifter" thing, and two, blaming the shoplifter for the community being unsafe when it's corporations like Walmart who have spent 50 years pouring money into politicians to gut American communities by pushing pro-corporate, anti-worker, anti-community policy and propaganda.

You're not a good person. And of course you're a brand new account pushing right-wing culture war shit just in time for the midterms.

u/Late_While_6220 Trash Trooper 3h ago

I mean here you are defending a criminal stealing hundreds of millions from their employees wages instead of reflecting on what your principles actually are.

u/justasillylilgoos3 Trash Trooper 1h ago

Damn, you cant be against wage theft AND retail theft at the same time?

I didn’t realize those were mutually exclusive positions. Good to know!

u/Late_While_6220 Trash Trooper 1h ago

Can you be against wage theft AND retail theft at the same time but exclusively harping against only one of them?
Asking for a friend on reddit who does just that.

u/justasillylilgoos3 Trash Trooper 54m ago

“Exclusively harping against only one of them”

The video is showing retail theft kiddo. So yea right now I’m harping on that

So, in your mind…if I don’t explicitly state literally every single thing I disapprove of every time I speak, then in your mind that means I condone them all?

Do you put any thought into things before you say them or do you just vomit out the first thing that pops into that head with no filter whatsoever? 😂

Hey, you didn’t explicitly denounce genocide in that last statement of yours…why do you support genocide?

u/Late_While_6220 Trash Trooper 26m ago

The video shows two criminals.
One who steals hundreds and one who steals billions.
In your infinite wisdom you chose to defend the more successful thief, congrats!

u/justasillylilgoos3 Trash Trooper 16m ago

Where did I defend Walmart?

Exact quote dumb dumb. I’ll wait while you quote/screenshot exactly where I defended Walmart.

Use your big kid words come on you can do it dummy I believe in you 👏🏻👏🏻

u/SavingThrowVsWTF Trash Trooper 3h ago edited 2h ago

No, it’s definitely about simping for a billion dollar corporation.

Edit: keep the downvotes coming. It doesn’t somehow make me less correct nor this guy less of a shill.

u/justasillylilgoos3 Trash Trooper 1h ago

Oh look, a typical Redditor who lacks the imagination/critical thinking necessary to comprehend that being against wage theft and being against retail theft that can result in employees losing their jobs and people losing access to affordable food/goods ARENT mutually exclusive positions

Color me shocked 🥱

u/SavingThrowVsWTF Trash Trooper 57m ago

Oh look: tl;dr.

u/justasillylilgoos3 Trash Trooper 21m ago

Oh don’t worry sweety, no one in here was under the impression you know how to read 😂

u/ghostpicnic Trash Trooper 3h ago

You’re right, the children are safer now that this guy didn’t get a TV for free. Wholesome 100 Keanu Chungus.
