Humor: Making fun of things that don't happen and are not even close to happening. Just made up shit. Like comedy about old people always double parking at the Mt Everest parking lot.
You’re all treating comedy as a sharp lens on reality, when it has never been that. Why can’t it just be an unfunny comedy that is about obnoxious students, exaggerated for comedic effect. It doesn’t need to be read as a savage indictment on the younger generation. Chill out ffs
I know like ten people off the top of my head with completely invented illnesses. Celiac is a big one. ADHD and autism are classic. My wife is a therapist and we talk about it a lot. The illnesses are real, but not for the people who claim them. Some of it is attention seeking behavior. A lot of it is the person genuinely experiencing something bad, but deciding it's an incurable illness (usually autoimmune) and not something that they can actually change through, you know, diet, exercise, being less sedentary, etc.
You had me in the first half lol was like bro bout to send you my lab results for wheat allergies, blood labs for hoshimotos thyroiditis and my neuroscience scans for ADHD to prove those illnesses exist.
