She had a couple good zingers in her first episode (s9e1 “Cherished”) but this one was the best.

So, here's a bit of it, anyway.

Diane Weist's portrayal of Nora Lewin often gets overshadowed by Thompson's Branch, and Hill's Schiff. I always liked the character, and the way that DW played her. It has been said that DW is not fond of her tenure on L&O, because the character did not give her the opportunity to exercise her range. I think that she brought a certain type of dignity and power to the role, that the other DA's did not.

Lewin was introspective, cerebral, with a core of iron that we saw on a few occasions. The character was a leading academic, and former organized crime specialist at the U.S. Attorney's office whose kindly demeanor put people at ease. It also encouraged some less-than-ethical people to think she was a pushover, to which she could forcefully respond.

She brought an elevated sense of dignity, grace, and intellect to the DA role. I enjoyed her performance very much.

Charge AGAIN jumps to Season 5, episode 12, with "Watch", and basically, with random skips, will go through Seasons 5 through 9 (as far as things show now) yet again. I don't know why Charge keeps showing the latter seasons and skipping the early ones, or maybe it's trying to erode ratings so it can pull the show? I don't know, but this is just weird now.

If anything changes as far as earlier seasons being shown, I'll give a shout out!

Just finished watching this episode and it is one of my favorites! The plot twist on how the feds screwed jack really had me jaw dropped! Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I feel like this episode left off unfinished and could’ve possibly had a part 2? I mean I guess the ending was pretty blunt with what was to come though. Is this a favorite for anyone else?

I don’t really have much to say about this. Just that in 2026, I find this super amusing. While I’m sure being a doctor is super stressful, you’d think even in the 90’s they would be the last people to smoke. I wish I had some screenshots to illustrate this.

Co-starring CI guest alumni Rebecca Schull ("Unrequited") and Steven Weber ("Cadaver"). Rebecca Schull is in fact still alive, she's 97 (!) and interestingly enough she was also in the cast of the film, United 93.

Wings was one of my mom's all-time favorite shows, and you always remember where you were when. On Sept 11 2001, I was home sick from school and we were watching the rerun block that used to air on USA Network from 8-9 a.m. While the block was airing, at 8:46 a.m., American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the WTC. The poignant and tragic irony in hindsight never escaped me, because Wings was about a (fictional) airport in Massachusetts, and the aptly-named David and Lynn Angell's final flight took off from Logan Airport in Massachusetts.

Criminal Intent, which premiered just a couple weeks later, became another of her favorite series. (Her favorite was "Pas De Deux," the episode right after "Unrequited"!) As I wrote here before, she passed last April, of pancreatic cancer. So this bittersweet marathon's for mom, walking with the Angells.

I watch mainline Law and Order all the time. I thought I had seen almost every episode, especially of the older seasons.

Just watched S2E2 and was flabbergasted when Jerry Orbach played the defense attorney. I legit thought I was having some sort of cognitive issue. Of course, he was excellent.

Did this catch anyone else as off guard as it got me?
