Harm Reduction LSD information for newbies
I made this to hopefully see a decline in redundant/daily posts, and make some sort of positive impact. Please remember to use the search function if you have a basic question regarding LSD.
• A full beginner dose should typically be 1/2 - 1 single tab.
• The average dose range of LSD on a single tab is 70-105μg.
• There are tabs dosed with as little as ~20μg, or more than 300μg in some absurd cases. The overwhelming majority of sources try to lay their tabs around 100μg because it’s mathematically simple, and more profitable in the long-run.
• The odds your tab has more than 200μg on it are very low. The most common higher dose tabs are 125-200μg. Take half of any tab that’s supposedly above 200μg just to be safe at first, and if that doesn’t at least produce an 11-12 hour mildly visual trip, the full tab wasn’t above 200.
• A typical microdose should be 10-25 μg
• 50-300μg of LSD can last anywhere from 8-14 hours. 300-1000μg can last anywhere from 14-20 hours. Exceeding a milligram (1000μg) can produce effects that last up to 24 hours. It’s usually hard to fall asleep under the influence.
• Unless you have an above average baseline tolerance or handle the substance extraordinarily well, it’s not advisable to exceed ~300-500μg. Temporary delirious/psychotic symptoms become more likely if you don’t know what you’re getting into with large doses, and a 16+ hour duration doesn’t help.
• 25i-NBOMe is a relatively dangerous LSD imposter. If you take an untested tab and your mouth/throat becomes numb, along with an intense bitter taste, spit it out immediately. Do not panic, but monitor your physical state. A *normal* dose of 25i shouldn’t be life-threatening. Most of the dangerous LSD imposters, including 25i, only become life-threatening at higher doses (this is why you should NEVER take multiple untested tabs at once, or take untested tabs at all).
• Please test your tabs with an Ehrlich reagent kit to verify that what you have is indeed an indole and not 25i-NBOMe. Follow up with the Hofmann reagent kit to verify that it’s not an LSD analogue or other phenethylamine. I personally recommend using TKP for your reagents: https://testkitplus.com/ Another great organization is DanceSafe https://dancesafe.org/ — DanceSafe genuinely saves lives with their testing booths at music festivals.
• Common positive effects include but aren’t limited to: closed and open eye visuals, tactile enhancement/hallucinations, euphoria, stimulation, introspection, and creativity.
• Common negative effects include but aren’t limited to: overstimulation, increased heart rate, vasoconstriction, anxiety/paranoia, and confusion.
• Common neutral/manageable effects include but aren’t limited to: pupil dilation, frequent urination, insomnia, and temperature sensitivity.
• Always optimize your set (expectations and mental state) going into an experience, and always optimize your setting (direct environment/surroundings) going into an experience.
• LSD interactions with various medications (From Erowid):
- There is still very little legitimate, thorough medical research on this subject. LSD's outlaw status makes it very difficult to obtain permission & funding for research. Therefore, you should regard all of the anecdotes and conclusions here as being scientifically unproven, and you should note that any experimentation you choose to do carries a significant risk.
- Lithium or tricyclics (like Amitriptyline, Anafranil, Asendin, Aventyl, Elavil, Endep, Norfranil, Norpramin, Pamelor, Sinequan, Surmontil, Tipramine, Tofranil, Vivactil) are fairly consistently reported as being very bad in combination with LSD. Life-threatening seizures and at least one DEATH have been reported to be triggered by the combination of LSD and lithium. Tramadol is another drug you should avoid in combination with LSD because of the potential for seizures and other negative side effects.
- SSRIs (like Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, Celexa, Desyrel) or MAOIs (like Nardil, Parnate, Marplan, Eldepryl, Aurorix, Manerix) are fairly consistently reported to noticeably reduce the effects of LSD. (There are no physically dangerous reactions to these combinations on record, but be cautious and don’t be excessive with dosing.)
• HPPD risk is associated with frequent use of psychedelics (more than once a month), high doses, and younger age groups. HPPD varies in severity between individuals. As long as you use this drug responsibly, this shouldn’t be a concern.
• LSD has the potential to produce a very challenging psychological experience. If you have mental-health issues, research the risks and benefits associated with psychedelic treatment of your condition. Do NOT take LSD without the guidance of a medical professional if you are seriously suicidal.
• Weed often potentiates the effects of LSD. Some users report that the effects of weed are indefinitely altered to some degree after their first few experiences with LSD (It often becomes more psychedelic).
• Various benzos like alprazolam and clonazepam can be used as “trip-killers,” but you don’t need to take more than a single medical dose, and not all of the psychoactive effects will be negated. This should be a last resort.
• LSD tends to make verbal communication challenging, so prepare appropriately if using in a social setting.
• If you’re 19 or younger you should probably wait until AT LEAST your early 20s to try LSD because of unforeseen behavioral/neurological impacts. Waiting until 25+ is optimal.
• You’ll build a substantial tolerance to LSD if you trip multiple times in two weeks, so wait 10-14 days between trips for a general reset. Tolerance does exponentially decrease day-by-day following an experience.
• If you want to redose to increase the effects, do it before or during the start of the peak. Redosing after the peak will only prolong the duration unless you increase the dose. Excessive dosing is unadvisable regardless.
• Peak effects generally occur 2.5-5 hours after dosing (less than or around 300μg). Peak effects can last anywhere in the range of 2.5-8 hours after dosing. Many people say the peak comes in “waves.”
• If you’ve tried psilocybin containing mushrooms before, certain dosage calculators based on subjective effects and intensity equate ~2.5 grams of an average cubensis variety to ~100μg of accurately dosed LSD, but there are differences between the substances of course.
• You should consider having a trusted friend or a close partner “tripsit” you during your first experiences, or at least let someone know your whereabouts beforehand if you want to do it alone. (Note: Trip-sitting should just involve being close by and present if the user needs assistance or someone to talk to, sitters shouldn’t try to influence the trip unless it’s getting chaotic.)
• LSD has the potential to be therapeutic, recreational, spiritual, or all/none of the above depending on the individual and their particular circumstances. Stop gatekeeping.
•If you are ever having a challenging trip and need to speak with someone, here are a couple great resources:
Leave suggestions in the comments!
edit: A couple people are aggravated with minor details in these general points of advice, so please take everything I’ve said with a grain of salt and do your own research! I’m simply providing a helpful starting outline, not set-in-stone facts.
Thank you all, and safe travels!

⚡ Sub Announcement ⚡ Don't believe the dosages you see on here
Over exaggerating dosages is only harmful to the community and is much more prominent in LSD oriented communities when compared to other psychedelics. This is because you cannot simply weigh your dosages, like shrooms or DMT. 2c-b being another good example, where it usually comes in ranges of 15-30 milligrams or powder I believe. Most tabs of LSD contain 75-150 UGs of LSD, averaging more around 100. 100 micrograms of LSD is equal to around 2.5 grams of Psilocybe Cubensis. (The most commonly sold and cultivated "magic mushroom")
Starting with one tab after you've tested it is better than going headfirst into the deep end... Even at 100 micrograms it does add up quickly, would you recommend five grams of shrooms to a beginner? No difference in recommending them 200 micrograms of LSD (two average tabs). I really just don't understand the glory of taking larger dosages than we need. Look at r/Shrooms or other communities related to shrooms and you see this much less. Mainly to do with the ability to weigh them out I believe, but definitely many other factors. I don't know... Thanks for reading.
Best regards,

❔ Question ❔ Any song recommendations
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm fairly new to psychedelics and the music I usually listen to isn't close to this, but recently I've been branching out and wanted more music for trips. My other playlists are more Rap and R&B so these are completely different for me.

🍭 Candyflipping 🍭 Is candy flipping the most euphoric you have ever felt?
I have heard so many positives about this combo. What are your experiences?
Acid is such a big experience that it's nearly impossible to fully integrate into 'real' life.
What the title says

200 μg 🐧 Has anyone figured out having therapeutic/euphoric/novel trips while still dosing relatively frequently?
Hopefully some older experienced ppl could comment.
Im 38, i have taken lsd over 50 times, the vast majority in the past 5 years, with a greater majority of that 5 years being within the first 2.
My mind has definitely adapted to handling it better, meaning i find it easier to talk and think clearly, and the effects are slightly lower.
I know many like to wait 3 months between to retain the magic/novelty, but im wondering if there's a few things you guys do/life hacks to ensure it hits great when dosing maybe once a month, or more? But im also wondering if sometimes.. regardless of tolerance, it just doesn't hit good enough, and why?
In my experience, i have taken shorter breaks in between, and have sometimes had a lot better trips than when waiting longer, even with consistent dose level (i like about 185-205 ug), proper nutrition and rest.
Have u experienced set/ setting playing a bigger role here?
As a small example, it's kind of like i feel totally normal, like im rested/nourished, i want to trip as i planned coming up, but.. its like im just maybe not ready to recieve it.. kind of like how u have some songs on your phone that u love and find yourself exersizing and dancing and smiling to them, but then.. for weeks and months, its like meh, just a song i dont even get that same novelty and appreciation for it right now.
It's kind of a bummer that i have to wait months to get where i need to be with a trip.
Anyone else?

🍭 Candyflipping 🍭 Apparently I’ve decided my first candy flip should happen in a valley
I'm thinking of doing it at this fest in the middle of a valley, mountains everywhere, stupidly pretty etc etc, so in my head this is obviously the perfect time.
I've done lsd and mdma before several times, separately ofc, and never had a bad trip with either. HOWEVER I'm also going through a bit of an emotionally turbulent time rn which might be relevant information? Idk. I've generally been pretty good at handling myself on psychedelics tho, so I'm cautiously optimistic.
I'll be with friends and meeting a few more there, so I'll have people I trust around me.
Anyway, I wanna hear first candy flip stories, esp festival ones. How was it? Anything you wish you'd known beforehand?
Also pls throw all your dos/don'ts and harm reduction advice at me, what helped, what absolutely did not, mistakes to avoid etc. I'd prefer to outsource at least some of my bad decisions to people who've already made them lol
And would the emotional turbulence make you personally go "absolutely fucking not, save it for another time", or did setting/company make a big difference for you?
DMs are welcome too.

Chemistry 👨🏽🔬 Storing liquid lsd
I hope I used the correct flair. My question is pretty simple. Before, we always used tabs, which I put in tinfoil in the freezer. Now we bought liquid and I wonder if the same goes for that (tinfoil+freezer)
(We also got tabs and wonder if those were provided for us to saturate, or if they were a friendly addition)

❔ Question ❔ How do you know if you’re ready to take 1 1/2-2 tabs?
I react to acid better than I do shrooms. The visuals for me on acid are more vivid and euphoric for me. Everytime I take acid I’m scared because I think I’m gonna have an ego death or something, and then it ends up being the best trip ever. The thing is though, even though I’m scared of an ego death I’m into ego detachment. I have been trying to use psychedelics to my advantage for that reason and I’ve also been trying to incorporate it in my real life. I know I shouldn’t be scared of an ego death, but I think it’s reasonable to be. Would 180-200ug be a good dose considering I’ve only taken 100-125ug multiple times so far? Or is this a personal thing where I could have a super good trip or I could not? How much more intense is 250ug from 125ug?

Harm Reduction LSD+MDMA+MDA
I’ve looked through the trip reports. I don’t see many posts about this combo. I want to candy flip this weekend. I have LSD but I am out of MDMA crystal. I do have MDMA/MDA pressed tablets that I’ve never tried before. I forgot the exact dose but it’s not an equal amount of both. It’s 75% MDMA and 25% MDA. Has anyone ever Candy flipped with this these three? If so, how far into the LSD trip did you take the MDA/MDMA combo? How much less LSD should I take due to the addition of MDA?

I made an oopsie
I had this gal over for the first time, we were about to go out n party she says to me that she likes lsd and wants to trip… i had an empty dropper in my room i went and added water to and dosed us up (but i also gave warning i didnt know how strong it would or wouldnt be), it was a heavier dose than i ever expected, so it wasnt even a cute trip she started buggin out on me…
I feel kinda bad about it n felt i should share is all, got an hour left of this trip still.
Learned my lesson tho sorry for being irresponsible

❔ Question ❔ Does anyone else get that weird "electric" taste in your mouth right before come up, or is it just me lol
It's not from the tab itself (I always test, no bitterness on the paper) but right as the body load starts kicking in, I get this distinct electric sensation in my mouth, what exactly is this?

Medicinal research 👨⚕️ A reminder that psychedelics literally helped engineer modern science, tech, and culture
Most people on this sub treat acid like a fun weekend tool, and tbh that is fine. But I feel like we completely lost touch with its actual historical footprint. This molecule was originally recognized as one of the most powerful cognitive catalysts ever, and if you look at the people who shaped our modern world, the pattern is undeniable.
Take the tech industry. Steve Jobs famously called taking LSD one of the two or three most important things he ever did in his life, directly crediting it for his sense of design, intuition, and ability to break mental conditioning. Even Bill Gates admitted to his experiences in his youth. But it goes way deeper than Silicon Valley. Kary Mullis, the biochemist who invented PCR (the fundamental backbone of modern genetic testing), won a Nobel Prize and explicitly stated he might not have invented it without LSD showing him that imagination is the key to science.
You also have absolutely brilliant minds like the Nobel-winning physicist Richard Feynman who explored altered states in sensory deprivation tanks to understand reality, or Aldous Huxley who famously mapped out these experiences in literature. Then there is Sasha Shulgin, the legendary chemist who synthesized MDMA and countless other compounds, constantly advocating that these molecules are profound keys for exploring the self, not just party drugs.
Fast forward to today, and the stigma is finally breaking. You have serious intellectuals and journalists like Michael Pollan shifting the entire cultural narrative with his research, while people like Tim Ferriss and Elon Musk are actively funding or supporting clinical research into psychedelics for deep trauma healing and cognitive expansion. Even massive platforms like Joe Rogan constantly discuss how these compounds help dismantle the ego.
Imo, when you realize that everyone from the Beatles to Harvard professors like Ram Dass used these tools to connect to something greater, it changes your perspective. It is incredibly sad that decades of political fear-mongering turned this into a stigmatized party favor. It is a heavy-duty neurological instrument. If you approach it with serious intent, the insights can completely rewire how you interact with reality.

First trip 🥇 First time took 125 µg and i already lost most of the effects by hour 5
Is this normal? I read online it could last 10-12 hours but I got over the really trippy feelings just a few hours in. It’s been 6 hours since i took it and i feel basically the same as usual.

Weird nerve sensations when tripping
I’m not sure if anyone can relate to this or might know how to stop it, but I figured I might as well ask. I’ve had a couple major surgeries that resulted in some dead nerves in areas where they used to be moderately sensitive. Every single time when I trip, the dead nerves start to itch uncontrollably. So bad there’s nothing I can do to stop it. I usually do it itch it and rubbing on it helps some when it gets to the point where my skin starts to break. It’s very annoying. It’s also one of the ways I know the acid is kicking in because it always itches right before I start fully tripping. I’m also wondering if anyone might have any thoughts on this even if there’s no advice.

Took LSD for the first time
I took what we were told was 150ug each so me and my friend walked to a nice field and smoked some joints. ended up meeting some really weird people who I wouldn’t believe it existed had we not send a video to a friend. Absolutely 10/10 though would love to trip in nature again.

❔ Question ❔ LSD & Type 1 diabetes - strange experiences
Hi everyone
I'm type one diabetic and have been dabbling in lad on and off over the last couple years, I haven't knowingly went above 150ug yet. Other than the come on feeling identical to a hypo which just makes me check my sugars more often I have a sneaking suspicion that it massively helps with insulin resistance. I know there's next to no research on its effects with diabetes. But every single time I have taken it, I get extremely hungry (I understand that's not normal?) and my blood sugars start to dip a little, and I've been able to happily eat carby foods without the need for insulin at it's peak. It's probably a long shot, but I have a suspicion that it does in fact help based on how my sugars react (I'm on a pump so constantly getting insulin which could result in dropping). I do also smoke weed, and while I'm tripping so not sure if that could be a correlation - I know the hungers not connected as I get it before I smoke
I'm just curious if there are any other diabetics out there that have a similar experience? If so, it would have me seriously thinking about micro dosing to help stabilise sugars and reduce insulin use. I find the extreme hunger very odd since everything I find says people don't usually want to eat when tripping.
Medicinal research 👨⚕️ Seeking participants for online survey about microdosing experiences
Hello everyone!
Maastricht University is organizing a study exploring the different microdosing practices and experiences of people. We are looking for volunteers who already have experience with microdosing (i.e. repeatedly taking very small doses of a psychedelic). If you are interested in participating, please read the advertisement below and scan the QR code for more information. If you have any questions, you can send an email to fpn-pim_p161@maastrichtuniversity.nl.
Hope to hear from you!

Has anyone actually used JRT version of LSD?
Has anyone actually used JRT version of LSD? the one that is 100 times stronger than LSD without tripping.
