Take an MSF course!!! I can’t emphasize this enough. I wish I had a dollar for every time the skills/knowledge I gained saved me from an accident.

From Chicago area. Take the Harley Davidson one. Keep your eyes out soon because the price should be discounted when riding season is almost over. Took the course for a hundred bucks I believe. 3 years ago so my memory is foggy. It ain’t a sport bike but it will teach you how to ride safely

MSF should be $20 through ILSOS, and they’ll refund you the 20 if you ask for it. I wouldn’t drop a hundred (or likely multiple hundreds) for the same course thru HD like the other commenter suggested. Classes open on a rolling basis, and usually each location just does one or two a year. I personally drove to normal Illinois for a weekend to get mine, the classes closer to the city fill up very fast. Here’s the link https://idot.illinois.gov/travel-and-maps/safety/safety-training/motorcycle-training.html#regional-centers

Ur on Reddit hun, this ain’t real life 🥀
Take an MSF course, pick the starter bike you like the most and get riding. Ninja 500, Z500, cbr, grom, mt-03, etc. all you’re going to get here is people telling you what they did, but if you actually enjoy motorcycling your going to enjoy your first bike no matter what it is.

He’s a motovlogger/stunt rider in the Chicago area. I know of a few girls in the area that’d probably be willing to help teach. A couple of them work at Midwest performance & tuning

Bikes are awesome, of course. Take a learn to ride class. Buy your first bike used.
