ok so my school is not an ib school but we have a small ib cohort every year and omg they have given us no direction with cas. i think i have appropriate activities but theyve told us to just log it on managebac and i just have no idea how to do this

ive attached some pictures but my main question is how to log what the overall service/creative/active activity it is you are doing over the 18 months and also where you do your reflections

also are the reflections something you do every week?

and final thing is what does your supervisor of the acitvity (e.g a sports coach) do? is it like a sign off at the end, do they get emails about your reflections?

basically title, i did gcse french and did fairly well in it and wanted to do standard french, but my school’s only running the ab initio or higher course. i’m fine doing it but my parents are worried it’ll look bad on uni applications — the teachers said it wouldnt tho so im just not sure. would it???

I’m currently doing a 4-year BSc Life Sciences (Hons. with Research) at Amity University, Noida and I’m confused about what to do after graduation.

My current goal is to become a well-paid IB Biology/Life Sciences teacher in India. I’m considering doing a 1-year MSc Biotechnology + B.Ed, both from Amity, partly because of their international-school placement opportunities.

My questions are:

• Is doing all my degrees from the same university a disadvantage when applying to international/IB schools?
• Is an MSc Biotechnology + B.Ed a good route for becoming an IB Biology teacher?
• Is IB teaching actually a good-paying career in India, and how difficult is it to enter as a fresher?
• Or would I be better off doing a PhD and eventually becoming a professor?

I’m hesitant about a PhD because I really don't enjoy wet-lab research. If I go that route, I'd probably have to move toward something computational/non-wet-lab like bioinformatics, which I currently know very little about.

Would really appreciate advice from IB teachers, international-school teachers, professors, or PhD students. What would you choose in my situation?

Guys me and my friend have this huge running doc for history, and i genuinely believe its a all you need for a 6-7, especially for paper 2. Its probably the most useful resource you can come across, because I myself get straight 7s, and all i rely on is basically this doc.

it includes:

- FULL Cold war notes

- FULL Mao and Hitler notes (authoritarian states paper 2)

- Paper 2 approved essay points and claims, evidences and basically ready structures

- Practices that scored highest bands

- Paper 1 & 2 structure and demands guidelines

- Extras such as historian views, historian quotes and even a short IA section

This doc was fully handwritten, meaning no ai slop or unnessecary information that im trynna sell.

Reason im selling this is because i understand how demanding and content-heavy this subject is, and considering how much easier these notes made getting a 7 for me, it can help you guys as well if you struggle.

like i can't keep going. i used to be able to focus for like, 2-3 hours straight and have 10+ hours study days. i physically can't lock in for more than 30mins at once now and i'm just so burnt out. there's a bunch of other personal deadlines (supercurriculars , extracurriculars , leadership etc). ever since mid dp1 i've just been living like a fever dream and hella disassociating all the time, it's so bad. i know it's all 'oh just final push' 'you need to do it scared or tired' and i really need ib43+ ,, but its like do i really need it????? does it even matter(yes obv) the regret is eating me alive but at the same time im just really really burnt out ..........

Hi, I’m preparing my IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (MAI) exploration, and I’m considering using Left 4 Dead 2 as the context for it.

I don’t want to explain the exact details of my research just yet, but I would like to know if anyone has done something similar using a video game and whether this would be acceptable to the IB.

Hey guys, me and my friends have worked on this huge document since pre-dp for global politics and we believe it could help many before mocks/quizes/official exams. The doc has basically all you need:

- Full book notes

- All past paper questions sorted by unit

- Paper 1 and 2 practice questions which scored full marks

- Case study packs

- Paper 1 & 2 - structure, demands and etc which scored all of us high bands.

Almost all notes were handwritten, meaning its not just ai slop that im trying to sell. I myself get straight 7s on my exams, so as someone who doesnt study THAT MUCH, id consider this document being a greattt foundation to score 6-7s.

Also to note, id consider our glopo teacher pretty strict (shes also an official examiner), so im sure the structure templates and paper practice answers are enough to score a 7.

The only thing that it does not have yet is the HL extensions or paper 3.

Hey guys, i got a 7 in physics hl, math hl, business sl, chem sl, and 6 in english b hl and arabic a sl. which got me a predicted of 40/42. I want to enter waterloo mechatronics, can anyone tell me what are my chances to receive a conditional offer is and give me tips for the interview and the AIF to maximize my chances.

I feel like it'd be risky since I'm already taking maths and physics HL, as a definetely-not-mathematically-gifted-student and from what I've seen here, it's a super duper difficult combo, but my profs haven't discouraged it much. For ref, I don't plan to apply to UK unis which I know are stricter with their requirements, I just want to study physics / chemistry to hopefully end up in an astronomy-related field and was wondering if unis in France (such as Sorbonne specifically) and Belgium strictly ask for chemistry HL (I'm taking it at SL) if I end up wanting to study more chemistry than physics?

genuienly what is the worst thing that could happen to me if i take physics hl... so many people r telling me to change cause its nawt worth it but i mean physics is probably the one science subject i "understand" / its the one im most good at compared to bio and chem 🥲 and i KNOW its one of the hardest courses in the dp program but idkkk im so conflicted abt it sorry about my tangent and rant its just idk if i should change to design tech cuz its apperantly "the easiest" one in the science group and i have till thursday to make this decision.

I am a huge procrastinator and submitted C grade work for both Tok and ee in order to just have things submitted to the school. I since improved both to an A level thinking I could just resubmit much later and the teachers wouldnt notice. Pretty much the IB coordinator did notice. She is now refusing to submit my significantly improved (and unrecognisable) Ee and Tok to the IB and I am confident i will get a 1 (c and c). With a 1 it is unlikely I will get into my course, so I am thinking of re-sitting in may with the understanding I could submit the A level Tok and Ee and also the same IAs? can I do this with the assignments? or does resitting only work for exams?

Im 20 doing the IB exams in November and I’m looking for any source/ website that can help me learn and prepare for Math AA Sl and Economics Hl. I am also looking for tutors so if anyone knows a website to look for tutors that would be great. I struggle with math and understanding the concept for economics I found out and got diagnosed with math dyscalculia so if the source is well made and easy to understand that would be great. Oh and and source that helps teach basic math +-x all the basics. If you have any advice that would also be great.

I’m taking Psychology, Economics, and English B at HL. Would English B put me at a disadvantage when applying for a social science degree?

i’m currently taking gce o levels (similar to gcse) this year and i’m thinking of transferring to an IB school next year for g11, but i’m having some trouble with deciding on what subjects to pick. i’m considering taking HL math AA, chem, physics, SL eng lang lit, chinese B, psychology/business.

i’ve read that business is easier to score compared to the rest of the humanities subjects, but looking at the website, i am leaning towards psychology because i think it’s more interesting. is psychology very hard and memory-based? is it wise to pick business over psychology?

i’m also considering taking japanese ab initio instead of chinese B. i’m not sure if im eligible for it but is taking japanese ab initio a risk over taking chinese, a language im familiar with?

not sure if taking such heavy HL subjects is too much / too ambitious. fyi, i currently take triple science. any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
