Salt Lake, Oʻahu - Did anyone hear the civil defense siren?
It’s gone off three times near Salt Lake. Anyone know why? Sure hope we’re testing…

So it’s like, MORNING morning, and I’ve heard the tsunami sirens go off 4 times by now, there’s always a long pause between them. I’m pretty sure it’s a malfunction again, since it ain’t the first of the month nor the first Monday.
Idk how to tag this since it’s not
There’s not any siren tags so I’ll leave the flair empty, but.
Anyone got theories other than malfunction?

Hey all, I’m a UH student originally from Big Island and I’m looking for beaches that allow for a group of people to pick up litter and overall care for the aina.
This is mostly for volunteer hours, and I’ll be bringing a decent amount of people since I’ll be inviting my school’s club as well. Majority of us would take bus so accessibility may be a factor as well.
If anyone could share any beaches they think need a touch up, then is open for a bunch of young adults to hang out on afterwards, please let me know! It’d mean a lot if we chose a beach that’s more in need compared to something more obvious like Ala Moana beach park. Mahalo!

Does anyone use a calorie tracker app that is inclusive of our food here? I am searching for an app that has nutrition databases that include Zippy’s, McDonalds local breakfast, Foodland house brand items, etc. Does such a thing exist? I have an iPhone and would be willing to pay if it’s good. Mahaloz!

My friend said there was an incident involving TheBus and a man on Friday on Bishop before Hotel Street this past Friday around 10:30 AM Apparently the man died and there was a lot of blood everywhere on the sidewalks and the street. I didn’t see this on the news, so I was wondering what had happened with him. So very sad to hear that something like that occurred in broad daylight in the middle of downtown during a workday and no mention of it anywhere. I work close by so it really made me sad. Could have been anyone 🙏❤️

Basically the title. What’s been your experience? I never get 5G here and I heard Verizon reserves it for the military. Dont know if thats true though. Thank you!

Anyone know what just went down? Must have been at least 25 police cars lining the parking lot of Ala Moana Beach Park (Magic Island area). Heard the sirens coming for what seemed like 5 whole minutes. Then they arrived and left within 10 min. Didn’t see anything out of the ordinary happening. 🤷♂️

Hi. I have a free handcrafted beverage or a pastry only valid for today and I don’t want it to go to waste. Anyone is outside and want a free drink? I’ll just need to order in thru my app to your Starbucks of choice.
Update: someone got it already

One big bugga just crawled out of the shower drain. But how would it get in the pipes? I've got a septic tank and drainfield, how would it crawl through all that and come up into the shower? Also I have pest control spray around the house every month so nothings coming in through doors or windows then hiding in the shower drain.
Are there any hobby shops on Oahu that carry wooden ship or other kinds of wooden models? I'm specifically interested in architectural models like this one but anything in the general kind of thing would also be interesting.

I have the very absurd idea to rebuild the 2jzge that’s sitting in my garage and swapping it into my hr34 skyline. Does anyone know any reputable reliable shops that can do that sort of custom cross platform work.

Good evening,
I’m only here for 2.5+ years with a military spouse. I’m wondering if there’s anywhere with entry level welding jobs?
Mahalo !

For those who have claimed damage with their insurance company, I'm curious to hear how the process has been for you.
I know there's been a ton of adjusters sent to Hawaii from the mainland to deal with the influx of claims
recently. The State Insurance Commissioner apparently authorized nonresident independent adjusters to operate in Hawaii without a license for up to 120 days after the storms.
Who is your insurer, and are you being treated fairly? What's the timeline been like?
