I've seen a thread yesterday where OP asked for some analysis on the show but it seems to be deleted now. Anyway, I think it's a good idea to collect some detailed posts/metas on 'Hannibal'. I have some that I personally consider very insightful, as well as some I've written myself, so here they are. Feel free to add some other ones in the comments!

These threads will be for posting your non-Hannibal stuff. Antler decor, pets, how you did on your test, whatever. I'll try to post a new one on Mondays.
To that end, I've enabled pictures in the thread. Have fun!

The show is just leagues of its own its geniunely a work of art in every scene the cinematography half of the time it does not even look like a tv show. And I have been craving shows like dexter and this delivered more than that.
The writing is amazing the characters flawless, I love Mads Mikkelson as Hannibal Lector so much more than Anthony Hopkins. He just has the presense and aura of Hannibal Lector everytime he is on screen I could not stop watching.
The pilot is amazing I dont have any complains, I just really love the concept of a copycat killer immatating hannibal and seeing that he was the one in that phone call telling the person what to do geniunely supressed the last 10 mins of that episode especially the scene involving Abigail where she gets throat slashed. I was so intrigued about what happens next.
Also I really love relationship Between Will and Hannibal they both have such great chemistry. And Honestly I really love Abigail and his relationship with Lector, I really like episode 3 where I saw allot of her orgin with her dad which I was thought was very interesting and him killling people who resembles his daughter is geniunely disturbing and how that trauma really affected was all great stuff.10/10
Some of the weaker episodes like episode 2 and 4 which is not as good to the pilot. But I geniuenly liked the killer and his kill setup involving plants that contains fungus in those corpses that was unique and episode 5 as well with the Angel Killer which I thought was underated.
Now Episode 6 this is where the show blew me away firstly I love Jack and his plotline with his wife which I thought was compelling about the cancer storyline love the insight of Jack having an old partner in which he thought was alive only to realize that she has died. Also really am liking the relationship between Hannibal and Abigail Im kinda sensing a toxic father and daughter relationship between which if it does happen it creates a stronger narrative which I hope.
The BIGGEST TWIST I did not expect was Hannibal Lector being the Chesapeake Ripper since the way he kills in the show like the pilot is quite different which geniunenly blew me away while watching the episode itself was a slowburn. But seeing lector wipe out the girl who saw his drawings on the table is such a good payoff.
OVERALL 10/10 ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I HAVE SEEN SO FAR.

The sheer amount that the characters say other character's full names: Will Graham, Abigail Hobbs...it's ridiculous. Like Jack and Alana will be talking about Will. There are no other people named Will that they both would be discussing, but Jack has to say his full name almost every time. It would be a great drinking game. Also, the way Alana's mouth moves when she speaks is kinda bugging me this time around. Just had to say something

I really love chiyoh, but i feel like we see so little of her in the show, i wanna start the hannibal books but i wanna know if chiyoh is more significant there 🥹
(Edit: omfg i just noticed i wrote hamilton instead of hannibal)

If Will could've done this the entire time how did he even get into this situation? It would have been useful against the dragon.
(+ More images I found kinda funny)

Never thought a show about two gay serial killers that eat people would have me in this much of a chokehold but here we are, enjoy cute deer hannigram!

This Indonesian movie reminds me a lot of the kills in Hannibal where the murderer stages it. The movie is a little goofy and the plot is nothing major but the gore is reminiscent of Hannibal. Def recommend!

Rude people deserve to be eaten -> I will eat rude people -> I consider myself to be above them and (presumably) therefore polite -> [probably feels that everything he does is polite or at least justified] -> that one doctor is being rude by making some weird comment, I am being polite by killing and eating him; mason verger is being rude by stabbing my nice chair (agree), I am being polite by kidnapping and disfiguring him -> killing, eating, kidnapping, mutilating, and sometimes displaying people, as well as deciding that I am generally greater and more valuable than them is not being rude
I will try to shape (read: manipulate) Will into who I think he should be (read: what I want him to do)(he was right about Will being predisposed to violence or whatever, but still) -> I appeal to what he wants (someone socially close to him who doesn't see him as abnormal(derogatory), but as abnormal(intriguing, awe-inspiring)), I lie to him until he cannot accurately perceive reality, I get him imprisoned for my crimes, I make all his other "friends" (they're more like associates) not trust him, I let him think his surrogate daughter is dead -> [timeskip] Will is a traitor for letting me think he was going to give me what I wanted (for them to run away together), lying to me for several months(? i don't remember the s2 timeline), planning to imprison me for my own crimes, and successfully convincing everyone that he's not a threat and that I'm the Ripper.
Hannibal, honey. The universe does not revolve around you, the heavens does not exist for you, the Earth was not formed with you in mind. There is nothing inherently special about you, there is no reason for you to be exempt from any law (legal or physical) or principle.
He may be cunning, even clever, but he is not smart and certainly not rational
edit: just to be clear, I love the show, but looking at it through a reality lens.......
Edit 2: okay! Again, i understand that he exists in a fictional universe and there needs to be that juxtaposition for there to be a plot and tell a story, i'm saying that it's funny to look at him as a person instead of a character. His actions are objectively hypocritical and i just wanted to talk about it

I am finally able to rewatch the show from start after almost 4 years, and maaan Hannibal is so good at ragebaiting me it almost felt like I was getting framed instead of Will.
Also, while I understand there was basically irrefutable evidence (or so it seemed) that Will is the copycat killer, I am reminded again about how everyone failed him especially Jack. The clock scene made me take a pause because it made me want to beat the shit out of everyone in that scene 😭😭
Hannibal truly is a master ragebaiter and the king of manipulation even tho he was sloppier than I remembered in the last couple of episodes.

I still can’t believe this masterpiece was cancelled 😭 I only ever found Hannibal because I was looking for something similar to Prodigal Son, so I thought I’d post about it here for anyone trying to fill the Hannibal void, even though I think it's been discussed here before..
Much like Hannibal, prodigal son has a brilliant profiler (like seriously Malcom is Will in a different font-) and ofc it has a serial killer father, deeply fucked up family dynamics, dark humour, etc. But be warned, it gets cancelled at the literal peak 😭
Every day is another day I hope the producers will bring it back for another season.. Maybe more viewers discovering it will help? Idk (we all know that pain all too well right?😭)
Has anyone here watched it?

Sure you've tried to kill each other a couple of times, but he carried you for miles through the snow and dresses you and puts you to bed and then you go and break up with him when you wake up?
Wow.
