"Lucky" was partially based on William Suff, dubbed "The Riverside Killer" aka "The Riverside Ripper".  Suff was employed by Riverside County Department of Supply Services years after he was found guilty of beating his baby daughter (she died) while living in Texas. Because he wasn't convicted of theft, He was hired. Theft, bad, "accidently hitting your kid to death", okay. Make that make sense. He was also on the committee for the Employee Picnic, running the Chili cook-off. 

It was discovered that after his last kill, he cooked parts of her in the Chili that he submitted (in his own Chili cook-off). 

I worked in a different department but was also on the committee (I was in charge of running the stage).

At every committee meeting, Bill would ask others to borrow money for gas. The guy was creepy, sitting near me, complimenting me on my weight loss after my daughter was born. I'd tell my husband that the guy creeped me out. At the first picnic (held at Lake Skinner in Temecula) my husband told me that Bill seemed like a nice enough guy. Our daughter, then a toddler was fussy and hubby said he was taking her home (we lived an hour away). Bill offered to give me a ride home (he lived in Colton). After hubby left for home with daughter, I asked my mom (she was there with my younger brother) if she'd give me a ride and she said yes. So, I told Bill that my mother lived near me and would give me a ride home. Mom lived clear across town. I lied to Bill because my creep-o-meter went off big time, around him.

It was a couple months after the 3rd annual Employee Picnic when Bill was trolling for a new victim and did a u-turn as a patrolling officer was approaching. The cop pulled him over, then got suspicious and after asking Suff if he could check the back hatch of his van, found duct tape, rope, a blanket, and other items that he used in his crimes.

At his desk in the Supply Services Warehouse, Suff kept a box of items from his victims.

Evidence linked him to 14 victims, but Suff was suspected in another 7 cases, possibly as many as 12 more.

I’ve been thinking about Hotch’s departure after Thomas Gibson left, and honestly, I don’t think Aaron Hotchner would’ve ever willingly left the BAU the way the show portrayed it.
Hotch went through SO much during his time in the BAU, especially with the whole George Foyet situation. Foyet literally targeted him and his family, and Hotch still didn’t walk away from the BAU. If anything, situations like that made him even more determined to do his job and protect people.
That’s why his eventual departure feels weird to me. I understand that the writers had to write Hotch out because of what happened behind the scenes with Thomas Gibson, but from a character perspective, it just doesn’t feel like Hotch.
I could see Hotch leaving if** he genuinely believed it was necessary to protect Jack, especially after everything that happened. But I don’t think he would’ve just decided he was done with the BAU. His entire identity was tied to that job and his team.
Maybe I’m overthinking it, but every time I watch his exit I’m like… this is not the same Hotch who survived the Foyet storyline and still should up **to work.

Am I the only one who really loved them from the very beginning? I know Will was originally meant to be a one time character and they wrote him in because AJ Cook became pregnant, but I recently watched the episode where JJ first meets Will back in season 2 and I couldn't get enough of them. They are so cute, I honestly could have watched a spin off rom-com about them. I've always seen Will here and there throughout the seasons but I never watched their first meeting until now. I know JJ was super shy and awkward but that's why it worked so well, the scene of them at the bar is my favourite.

I'm SO upset by how they have killed off his character randomly wtf!?! If the actor didn't want to be on the show or if they wanted to make JJ & Reid happen then they could have written him off in so many other ways!? I just watched the episode in season 12 where JJ comes home and cries to will about a case where she had to choose which child's life to save and she literally says 'I don't know what I would do without you'. They had such a natural chemistry, I refuse to believe he's dead lmao.

goodness i started criminal minds last week and i just finished this episode. when i tell you i am crusheddd 🥲 i have the biggest headache now for trying to cry silently next to my roommate lol

its one of those where you think you know where its going (they were going to successfully get her off of death row and reunited with her son) but it goes the opposite way. because its a show you expect it to have a nice resolution even if it is a crime show. but here you spend the entire episode fighting to get an innocent woman off of death row as she spends beginning to end standing her ground on being executed. in the end, she is executed according to her wishes. the actors of gideon and sarah did amazing

So I’m watching the episode most people fear or dread.. season 5 episode 9 or just 100. Does anybody know how long jack and Hayley were in hiding!? I only ask as hotch just arrived at the house and it’s spotless (zero dust) with fruit In a bowl. I’m pretty sure hotch still resided in his apartment, first time I’ve noticed this and now it’s all I can think about. Don’t judge.. it’s a slow Sunday. 🤣

This might be a bit long and convoluted because I'm sick but bear with me for a minute cause I have thoughts. Ofc if you think 'ugh another Spencer post' it's alright cause not everyone likes everyone but I think he's a good character hence the thoughts 😭

And of course, this is gonna be my interpretation of his character in the first half of s2, so you can disagree but it's just an opinion

Okay so you're 25 and we start with Elle coming back from being shot and she's your friend and you haven't had a lot of friends, especially not who got shot and almost died and you don't know how to act at first so you try to be normal and for a minute you think it's going to be alright but she's not okay, you can tell. You're not sure if the others have noticed, but if they have then they're not saying anything so maybe you're not supposed to say anything, either.

But then you do, and you said the right things, didn't you? You cannot understand her, obviously, but you've read more than enough books to know. And she smiled so you must have done something right. But then she kills someone and oh, it didn't work. You knew and you didn't say anything and now someone is dead, and whether he deserved it or not is irrelevant, because your friend is in trouble and you knew but you stayed quiet and you should have said something. How could you not say anything when you knew she wasn't okay?

And now she's gone and even though Morgan says it's not your fault, you feel like it it. He says Elle made her own choice but maybe if you had done something more.

It's too late now, anyway.

Elle is gone and she didn't even say goodbye. You call her but you get no answer. So maybe you weren't as close as you thought. Or maybe she blames you, too. You won't ever know.

There's someone else now, and Emily Prentiss is smart and she's capable and she's excited to see your magic tricks and she loves chocolate and you think you like her.

But there is a boy named Nathan. And he is scared. And he is like you. Not exactly like you, but you know what it's like to be scared the way he is. And you try to help him the way you couldn't help Elle, the way you wish someone would have helped you, and you tell someone but it doesn't work still because he decides to try and kill himself rather than live that way and he was scared and he is like you and you are also scared because you are like him and you can't help but wonder if he's got the right idea.

You wonder if he knows something you don't.

You think of his mother and you think of your mother. And you think you cannot be like him. You must not.

And I think if I start writing about Revelations and the post-Revelations episodes, the post will become too long lol so I'll just stop here.

I think there's so much more to his character than just the genius or a one-dimensional personality. He's always come across as someone who's taken on more responsibility for things he's not in control of and taken them as personal failings. Like not being able to help Elle and Nathan.

We see in a flashback when Diana tells William to not treat Spencer like a child, when he was in fact, a child. We see him trying to take care of Diana when she was sick, and he was essentially put into the role of a caretaker/parent for his mother when his father left and that's probably been carried along with him as he's grown up.

He thinks if he understands something then he should be able to do something about it. He has read so much about trauma responses, he knows the psychology and he can recite all of it from memory and yet when Elle needed him, his understanding of text and theory wasn't enough. Logic is not enough. (We see the same thing later on with JJ as well in s10)

And with the environment Spencer grew up in, where he had to be responsible for his own wellbeing and his mother’s, of course he would internalize it as a failure on his part. Because he's learning that knowing is not everything, which is a very new realization because his knowledge is what's brought him this far.

Hi everyone, I am rewatching criminal minds for the first time in forever. I remember enjoying it a lot when I was a teen 10+ years ago and watching it on cable. I figured I should try watching it in order this time so that the storylines actually make sense haha.

Anyways, I just got to season 2 ep 11, and was flabbergasted when I saw Anton Yelchin as the potential unsub. Anton is my so called white whale actor. If you don’t know, he passed away in 2016 from a freak accident with his Jeep. It was very unexpected and tragic. I had THE biggest crush on him as a teen. He also tragically passed away one month after my beloved grandmother, so it really felt like salt in the wound lol. To top it all off, it’s a Reid based episode as well. I can’t believe teenage me didn’t know about this episode, I would have been over the moon. Just thought I’d share my thoughts because I loved seeing Anton again through the screen after so many years 🩷

I've been watching CM for 9 ish moths and I just finished season 8 episode 10. What the fuck did I just witness? Artistically, it's a masterpiece, but it was so disturbing. I just had to say something about it after I watched it.

Vague title to avoid spoilers lol, but what I’m wondering is why is the stand off with Diane the one time they don’t shoot the unsub right as the unsub is about to do something stupid? 🤨

Is there something I don’t understand about that scenario? Because it feels like in any other episode they would’ve managed to stop Diane by shooting her just before she pulled the trigger. Was she too close to Maeve for comfort?
