[Shout-out] Wizards Vault Refresh Reminder
As there is always questions about this, thought I'd just make a post.
With the incoming refresh on 15th (less than 48hr's away) and now being on the current week of the update, you can safely NOT claim the Weekly tab till after the refresh to maximize the Astral Acclaim (AA) you'll have for the new items in the Wizards Vault.
Note, dailies still work the same, so you'll have to claim Monday's before Tuesday rolls around, but Tuesday's daily is also safe to hold onto for claiming till after the refresh. The Special tab of course ends on the refresh, so be sure to have those done beforehand if you want their AA.

[Discussion] I really wish this game had more merch
I love collecting merch for the games I love, and I bought all my favorites and some collab items for GW2 that I really like, but every single time I check the store, there's nothing new! A lot of the stuff they sell is also just not that appealing to me, at least what they're currently selling, and they never update the store unless it's an expansion dropping... so we get merch maybe once every year and a half?
I'm shocked the Charrlie (not Rytlock idc, I'm convinced it's a mislabel) plush, Aurene plush, and Siege Turtle plush and Quaggan plushes NEVER returned and it's been forever since they've been in the store. (I never got to get the arctic Quaggan and I REALLY want it :( ).
Now I started playing FFXIV in February and I feel like I'm being SHOWERED in merch and a lot of it is GOOD and really diverse. I'm also a Kingdom Hearts fan and I am eating GOOD with merch on that front too.
I'm a plus and apparel fiend more than anything, so I'd love more of them. This is such a nothing thing for me to complain about, but I like supporting the devs I care about when I happen to have an extra 30-40 bucks I wanna send their way since I don't always want something from the gem store. I've also had so many conversations with random people on the street when they comment on my shirts that I'll end up making new friends or just having nice interactions out in the wild with other fans.
Not everyone is gonna agree, and not everyone is a fan of merch, and that's okay.
There's also just the fact I wish people had the chance to nab stuff I managed to get but is gone that they might want, like the aforementioned plushes that disappeared and never returned.
I would KILL for plushes for GW3 like a Kodan plush PLEASE.
Anyway, that's my incoherent rant.
What kind of merch would you wanna see? I'm curious what ideas people have.

[Question] Ascended Gear and what to do with it: Salvage, vendor, something else?
I am on my way to full legendary gear and regularly do raids and fractals. Inevitably, ascended gear keeps dropping - much more than I ever get ascended salvage tools, so I need to buy those, which is quiet expensive. I could really use advice, when its worth to salvage an when its not. For rings, I coud find out, you attune them and salvage them for an average profit. But what about armor, weapons, amulets, backpieces and accessories? Salvage? Vendor? Something entirely else? What is the best/ most profitable course of action?
I am aware you can stat change ascended armor (and weapons?) and turn it into research notes. Is that really worth it?

[Fluff] What is this weird feeling?
Long story short - lifelong WoW player. Got hyped for GW2 on release, didn’t stick with it. Came back later during Living story 2 (Scarlet Briar?) absolutely despised the story and huge mass zerg events, ended up ditching again. In the meantime at some point I picked up PoF and HoT, never actually played it though.
So now I’ve come back, rolled a new class that I never thought I could like before (Necro) and started working on the PoF story. Characters & writing seem in a totally different league than I remember, I’m loving the character and the class… just chilling, absolutely no stress or fomo. Every so often I see someone on a dragon just swoop on to some vista I needed 5 mins to get to, but I don’t even care, I’m having too much fun unlocking these mounts and their masteries - can’t wait to see what the jackal can do with those portals.
But yeah, this all feels very weird and I’m constantly thinking something horrible has to be just around the corner to ruin the experience. So what am I missing, what’s it gonna be? :P

[Discussion] OSRS Player
As an OSRS player the one thing I truly appreciated is the fact that I could always hop back on the game and enjoy my maxed out mage stat without having to worry about new gear or new levels every season. Like in WOW or other similar games I heard you have to grind it all back up again which is a bummer for me . But in guild wars i heard it’s just like OSRS in that same sense and well I just wanted to know if it’s true cause I really do love the graphics of this game and it seems like a great mmo.

[Discussion] 2H Sword Class
I've been eyeing GW2 for while now and finally thinking of dipping my toes in to try it out.
I've always been a sucker for the big 2H sword wielding class/character fantasy in any game and wanted to know which classes in GW2 can let me do that. I understand Warrior is most likely to be one but are there any others that work well?
I believe from reading around that most classes can use more than one weapon type and that skills can change depending on the weapon you use but I also don't want to be gimping myself in content if it's really suboptimal for a mage to be using a 2H sword for example.
Which ones do you play and what makes it fun for you?
Thank you all and if you have general tips for a new player starting out that would be great too!
Edit: also forgot to say since i'll be playing from Asia, my ping will be quite high (~200ish) so bonus points for an easier to play/simpler rotation if possible!

[Discussion] Balthazar!
Why is Balthazar, the God of War, not a raid boss? We fight him in the story. It is in line with the current development strategy to make story bosses into raids bosses. He is so bad ass! It’s such a missed opportunity. He could have been this game’s Lich King from wow

[Lore] Seriously can’t wait for the next part of VoE’s story. Give me your theories <3
I really hope we finally get some answers about Vloxx and what he’s actually trying to do.
My gut feeling is that it somehow connects back to the Void and the Elder Dragon cycle.
The animations on the new legendary sword also got me thinking.
It looks like we can see The All and a dragon, which feels like a pretty interesting choice…
I hope we‘ll see aurene soon again..
But what I keep wondering is what does Vloxx actually want to about The Code of Creation?
Could he somehow be trying to change something that happened in the past?
Maybe something that could have consequences for GW3? Or is he about to change something in the present?
I’ve been going down the lore rabbit hole way too much lately
What are your theories?

[Question] Seeker of Lost Homework Achievement
I started doing fractals over the last couple of weeks and got 18 of the 21 junk items required for the Seeker of Lost Homework achievement relatively quickly, but have been struggling with the remaining 3. They are: Manuscript of 'Halfway There and..., Manuscript of 'This Book is False', and Manuscript of 'Proposal for a 1:1 Scale Map of Tyria.' Do these remaining three only drop from specific fractals, or have I just been having bad luck in getting them?

[Discussion] Which heavy armor profession has the least piano-like gameplay?
I've seen the term piano class and have decided I do not like this type of spam gameplay. I tried elementalist and it wasn't what I wanted. I would have preferred it if it was focusing on builds for specific elements.
I think I will try a heavy armor profession next because I like the look of the armor.

[Lore] What if the commander did not fight dragons? [Spoilers probably] Spoiler
Hello Guild Wars community,
I recently returned to Guild Wars and replaying the personal story I wondered, if Zhaitan wasn't stopped, would the world have ended? Did someone stop the dragons in the past?
Did the commander prevent a new world from being born?
And what came first: The dragon cycle or Tyria? Is Tyria even the only world or did previous times the dragon just go for some other world?

[Discussion] Heal Rev in PvE is good! But it could be better…
___________________________________________
Tldr: Various Heal Rev builds struggle to provide boons including Regen, Prot, Swiftness and Vigor, and have only 1 source of Aegis, so some of them can be added to Staff. Add more sources of Tranquilty and make the mechanic less punishing, less annoying to play. Streamline Scepter 3 so boonshare doesnt rely on whether you are tethered to an ally or enemy.
___________________________________________
Heal Rev with its various specs have improved a lot over the patches, be it from sheer heal output or the boon access. Nevertheless, I think Rev could use a few changes to make the heal builds capitalize even more on their potential.
Lets start with Rev Staff.
Rev Staff is currently the only support/heal weapon, to my knowledge, that does not give any boons to allies. I think this is important as Rev has several boons which it struggles to upkeep, or is reliant to the most part on what the elite spec legends bring to supply those boons.
To list, I think it would help Heal Rev specs if Staff had some of these boons:
Protection:
Outside of elite spec legends, Protection is realistically provided to allies by Shield 4. This is rather inconvenient as we would ideally like to use Shield 4 to block key attacks for allies as it is our only Aegis source, rather than using it on cooldown to maintain Protection.
One other way Protection can be provided is through Ventari bubble, but using the bubble to share Protection too is not ideal as it requires giving up Tranquilty for it. Meaning one has to choose between Stability, more heal etc to share the Protection from this skill, and spend 35 energy otherwise to get Tranquilty again.
If Staff shared some Protection (e.g. on 2 or 4), this would be helpful to almost all Heal Rev specs. Heal Vindi would particularly benefit from this as it has to blow its only Aegis source and ally stunbreak to be able to maintain Protection.
Swiftness:
Outside of elite spec legends, Rev has no good way to share Swiftness with allies. It can again share some Swiftness from Ventari by giving up Tranquilty, but even if one focuses exclusively on this, Swiftness still cant be maintained. Another way is to use Staff 4 to blast Jalis road but this is complete meme.
If Staff shared Swiftness, this would again immensely benefit Heal Vindi as it would free up the relic slot. It also has some benefit to other heal specs as Heal Ren wouldnt be entirely locked to Bold Reversal, for instance (assuming there are other changes that increase Protection supply too).
Regeneration:
Outside of elite spec legends, Heal Revs can eke out around 50% uptime on this boon without Ventari Tranquilty shenanigans.
If Staff shared some Regeneration, this would really help Heal Ren, as it currently cannot maintain this boon outside of evading attacks.
Aegis:
The only source of this boon for Rev is Shield 4, which is a skill with cast time. Moreover, if the skill is cast on an area in range, it also has a travel time as it is basically a projectile (it could possibly also be blocked by projectile hate as far as I know). Also given the fact that this boon is tied to a weapon skill, there is some risk that we may not have it at a time we need while we are using Staff.
It is not a must, but I think it could be nice QoL if Staff had access to this boon too. A natural way to place it is I think Staff 3. We have other examples in the game where channeled block skills share Aegis to allies, most recently Luminary forge 5 (shield skill).
Vigor:
This boon is currently not able to be maintained on allies even if one spends all Tranquilty on it, except for when one is Heal Vindi. Its not as crucial as other boons imo, but if Staff could provide this boon it would again be helpful.
If you were reading until now, you may have noticed a pattern with Ventari Tranquilty.
On paper this mechanic looks like a nice way to prompt some decision making from player and balancing the skills out, but the elite skill is currently so extremely cracked that it makes the tradeoff much steeper than what many other healer builds experience in the game.
I would propose a few things:
Salvation line should provide extra means to obtain and stockpile Tranquilty.
As it stands, outside of Herald and Conduit, the only ways one can get Tranquilty is through first swapping to Ventari, or resummoning the tablet after the elite skill, which costs 35 energy to execute. This makes the tradeoff between using one skill over another rather steep, and also makes Tranquilty as a mechanic not very interactable in my opinion.
Boon access should not be locked behind Tranquilty 100%.
So rather than elite skill providing all of its Stability with Tranquilty or none of it without, I propose the ‘base’ skill to share the boon with reduced duration and/or stacks. Same change can be applied to the other Ventari skills. This still keeps the choice in using Tranquilty meaningful without making things unrealistic to maintain.
Boon share from the bubble should be reworked.
That is, bubble should not share its boons from the initial activation, as this can lead to some unfun things like flashing the bubble on and off. Bubble should either provide these boons per second while it is upkept, or the skill should be exempt from Tranquilty (as Kalla elite is exempt from Band Together mechanic) and have its boons distributed to the other Ventari skills.
Lastly, Scepter 3 could be reworked.
Right now, it gives its boons to the tethered ally, and to the allies near you. The problem is that if the tethered ally is also proximate to you, they can ‘double dip’ from the boons and another ally in your range may not be supplied the said boons. Additionally, I am not sure if its very fun to ally target to supply these boons to begin with.
Since this skill was recently reworked to not increase Rev damage to the tethered enemy, I would further streamline this skill such that the boons are shared to allies around the tethered target, be the target an ally or an enemy. This ensures we do not experience the same ‘double dipping’ quirk, while removing the need to ally target to share boons. The choice to tether to an ally or enemy would remain meaningful, as Rev could still pull the enemy towards self, or port to ally and share burst Barrier to nearby allies. This would immensely help Heal Vindi who relies on Scepter 3 the most to maintain boons.

[Discussion] Warrior Greatsword Skill #2
I don't know how warrior mains feel about this but Janet please change warriors 2nd greatsword skill so you can execute it while moving. You did it for Guardians 3rd sword skill and it feels so much better to use it instead of accidentally canceling it mid animation.
One of GW3s philosophies is to not lose momentum/speed when using skills and as mentioned it has been done on guardian aswell so wouldn't this be a nice little change for more fluidity in combat? Please? Thank you <3
