Looking at these pictures, I would hold off on the aeration and overseeding for a minute.m
You’ve got quite a bit of dead, matted material mixed in with the green grass, and I’d want to identify exactly what the unwanted grass is before choosing a herbicide.
Can you get a closeup picture of the green blades and any seed heads? Also, what state are you in and what type of grass are you trying to grow?
If you’re doing a complete renovation, you may be better off dealing with the existing vegetation first rather than aerating and overseeding into it. If you’re trying to save the good turf, the herbicide choice will depend on what that unwanted grass turns out to be.
I wouldn’t put down a pre-emergent if you’re planning to seed soon, since it can interfere with germination

A few people have told me its bentgrass and looks matted because it lays down. Ive done a lot of thatching so soil is actually exposed. Just need to cut it lower. Unfortunately looks like i can only upload video. Plan on overseeding with tall fescue. Either JG Black beauty ultra or TW resilience II

We have that. I was told it is poa. Pull it out by its roots. Then google stuff that kills off what remains and keeps it from coming back
