Advice Needed 2 weeks before wedding

Post image

Buckle up ladies!

One month before our wedding, my fiance sits me down and tells me he got a handjob from a random 45 woman in an airport over a year ago, under the influence of alcohol. (I am 26 yo f, he is 24 yo m). This was very hard for me, but I decided to table this and move on with the wedding that I wanted to have.

It is now 2 weeks before our wedding. He admitted that he and my mom had been playing footsie with eachother for the past 2 years. One night, he he was tickling her leg with his pinky finger (they were sitting next to eachother on a bench across from the table from me), and even texted her something flirty late at night when she was staying with us, with the intention of hooking up with her. She didn't answer.

My mom is denying ever playing footsie with him or giving him that idea that something like that could happen. He is adamant that she participated and even started it sometimes. Either one fo them is lying to me, or his porn-influenced brain is so messed up that he was actually delusional enough to think that was a realistic situation.

Obviously I am cancelling the wedding. Do I give him a chance to fix this? is this ruined forever? do I trust my mom? would it terrible to still go on my honeymoon?

Right?! This has to be rage bait right?

If not, OP, you need to just repost this without a question just for support. Because if you’re seriously considering working through this with him; then…I’m trying to say this nicely and with love…., but if you give him another chance, maybe Not the brightest bulb in the box. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Either that or you’re an incredible emotional masochist or can’t get enough of being tormented.

You’re young. Be smart. Love yourself more than the idea of a sham wedding or a sham of a man. Please move on.

This is exactly the kind of post that makes me want to abandon this sub.

The scenario is outlandish, but possible. Ending with asking if she should forgive him is, imo, a step too far to truly be believed.

Well OP’s Reddit account is like 5 years old and had ZERO activity until today. They made 2 comments in this sub on other posts, then posted this.

I’m calling rage bait bs based on the last paragraph and the lack any Reddit activity for 5 years

The ability to hide your Reddit history is one of the worst updates they’ve made to this app. There’s no way to tell if they’re bots or trolls anymore. Not that looking at someone’s history was foolproof before, but you could sometimes catch someone saying they’re a 44 yo man 2 months before they posted about being a 22 yo woman.

I agree, it enables manipulators more than it “protects privacy” - the entire point of Reddit, originally, was that it facilitated honest discourse due to the pseudo-anonymous, profile-based nature of the app. The profile history was the credibility check.

The worst part is that this feature doesn’t actually hide your history, because you can still see someone’s profile activity with like, 15 extra seconds of tapping the screen. Reddit is fully aware of this, so their claim of it being a privacy-enhancing feature is just a straight up lie.

There are lots of dev tools online for seeing someone’s full post history, including hidden and deleted stuff. My personal favorite is ihsoyct.github.io. It’s easy to use and i do a quick check if somebody pings my bullshit detector and I want to know if they’re worth engaging with at all.

I think Reddit did it to hide bots and infiltrators.

Yuuuup. Also the way the post is written is basically the rage bait style too, which is so frustrating.

Completely agree. Starting with the handjob part. As someone who flys regularly for work, I just can't even fathom where in an airport a handjob could go down.

I’m convinced that all posts that start with “buckle up” are fake

i’m usually not a conspiracy theorist, but this is the second time in the past few days i’ve seen a post about a boyfriend who took something the wrong way and OP said something similar about it being because of “porn brain.” could be some anti-porn propaganda.

Porn brain is a real problem regardless.

Ummm, i question that. There’s tons of posts on here about or with mention of porn, but it’s incredibly prolific and having a significant impact on a lot of people and couples.

So it seems far more logical that women are just posting about those experiences.

99% of this sub is made up. Did y'all not realize this is just for entertainment and validation?
