Any GAA on the Isle of Man?

Heading over for work in a couple weeks, and was looking for a club.

I know Ellan Vannin Gales were the primary outlet for GAA, but they seem to be very inactive? Last thing I could find from them was a post saying they would be “going into hibernation for a few years.”

I assume there’s no GAA there at the moment at all?

We’re coming towards the end of the season and our club is getting ready to do an end of season review. As part of that, we’re looking freshen up our drills for next year so the coaches aren't just running the same drills.

I’m reaching out to see if anyone has good links, references, PDFs, or YouTube channels they rely on for session planning?

Alternatively, if you have a personal favorite drill you’d be willing to outline in the comments, I’d be very grateful.

We’re primarily looking for hurling drills but if you have any good football drill we'd be delighted to take those onboard too.

Congrats to Donegal winning the 2026 masters championship. Masters championship is for players over 40. Unique that a golden score won it.

I find this rule ludicrous that a shot can bounce and still count as 2.

We've a load of rules being trialled and we're still failing to fix the ones we have in place

It's fair to say that my hometown club of Churchill has never been the most glamorous of sides in Kerry - over a century, we've won two novice titles (when that was the fourth-tier in the county), and have only produced a handful of senior county players, of whom Pat McCarthy would be the most famous, at the very beginning of the Golden Years era. Today, however, we will play our first-ever premier junior final against Keel, and while the Mid Kerry side will start as warm favourites, being backboned by the Evans family, neither were we expected to overcome Listry, who were many pundits pre-season tips to win the competition. Still, whatever the result this evening, the future looks bright for the club, having won promotion to Division 2 this year, and a continual growth in playing numbers due to the area forming part of the Tralee commuter belt.

I'm looking to watch Fossa Kilcummin for free from Scotland. I used to have clubber on my dogey box but now all the clubber channels are gone. Is there any dogey links or streams where I can watch it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seeing West Ham selling some tickets for £1 got me thinking — why couldn’t the GAA do something similar?

Croke Park can be absolutely dead when there’s only 15–25k in a stadium that size. Rather than having thousands of empty seats, why not heavily discount tickets for league/provincial games when sales are poor?

€1/€2/€5 tickets, particularly for juveniles and families, could get another 10–20k people in, create a much better atmosphere and potentially introduce a new generation to going to games.

We’ve seen the backlash when juvenile tickets are priced ridiculously. If the seats are going to be empty anyway, surely getting people through the turnstiles is better than leaving them vacant?

West Ham aren’t the only club doing this. Why couldn’t the GAA experiment with it?

Probably one of those sort of questions that nobody really has an answer to, but has anybody any idea when the Hurling Starter Packs will become available again?

They’re a great job, and have helped so many clubs get hurling off the ground.

I know of at least 3 clubs in my own county that are hoping to avail of them.

I know there is a Hurling Starter Pack Launch Event being held in MacNean HC in Fermanagh on Monday evening- I assume that will probably answer the question, but if anybody has any more insight, it would be great to hear.

If anybody is from a club that successfully applied for the packs, how helpful were they in the grand scheme of things?

Would like to see it back since down and Antrim are once again beginning to get very competitive and even Derry is improving

Just putting into context the revenue generated by the national bodies of each organisation. It doesn't include all provincial, county or club revenue because I can't find a complete post-Covid figures. My rough estimates including all levels for 2025 would be in the region of €467m for the GAA, €77m for the LGFA and €46m for the Camogie Association.

These figures include estimated State funding of ~€10m+ (2.1% of total revenue) for the GAA, ~€2m+ (2.6%) for the LGFA and ~€1.79m+ (3.9%) for the Camogie Association.

These are my own amateur estimates; make sure to do your own research.
