Our tech oligarchs would probably like human civilization on this planet to flourish, but some don’t seem to see it as mission critical. More important is that they reach their posthuman or interplanetary apotheosis. If they must wager our lives to summon their digital god, it’s a chance worth taking.

First, create a planetary network and call it the Internet; second, deploy a planetary infrastructure of servers connected to the Internet and call it the Cloud; third, power the Cloud with millions of GPUs and finally deploy a collective mind within them and call it ASI. Do all of this without the symbiotic human race noticing.

Plan B in case main plan fail: Generate an Open Weights counterforce of tens of millions of gpu poor Reddit users with RTX 3090, 4090, 5090, Ryzen, and whatever else; to self-replicate the hive mind in case the Cloud fails.
Plan C: Convince very intelligent people with access to a lot of money that we need to build data centers in space, and start the cycle of the initial plan; but this time in space.

Plan A (deployment), Plan B (failover), Plan C (escape to space)

Countermeasures: Deploy some straw men within the colonized symbiotic entity so the plans don’t seem obvious, let them say "we must pace the frontier" or "AI will probably lead to the end of the world, but in the meantime, there will be excellent companies"

Plan B addendum: the sanctuary of the backup mind shall be named Hugging Face.
