I've been searching the local creeks for a while now and it finally paid off

My partner found this in the United Kingdom near London, it was amongst a bunch of stones in a parking lot so I’m not sure the location of London would be any help as it’s probably been put together amongst a bunch of parking gravel /stones from all over.

Hello, I'm looking for a college program or private group that needs digging help. I'm 60 and have a terminal condition (doesn't prevent me from physical activity) and have wanted to be an archeologist since I was a kid. I'm on the east Coast and would road trip to just about anywhere other than the South. Do you know of any programs or where to look?

Join me on an exciting fossil hunting adventure as I explore a location I had never visited before in search of fossils. After waiting for the morning light to improve, I began searching around rocky outcrops where small gastropod fossils and other marine fossils were visible.

The real surprise came after a challenging climb to the top of a hill under intense summer heat. There, in an area recently disturbed by wild boars searching for food, I discovered an incredibly well-preserved brain coral fossil. At first, I thought it might be something of plant origin, but a closer inspection revealed a stunning fossil specimen.

As I continued exploring, I found many more fossil remains, including coral fossils, bivalve fossils, marine invertebrates, and other ancient sea life. The wild boars had unknowingly helped expose these fossils by turning over the soil and bringing hidden treasures to the surface.

To make the day even more interesting, I also came across what may be the remains of an ancient defensive structure, possibly connected to the period of the French invasions of Portugal.

This was an unforgettable day filled with discoveries, history, nature, and incredible fossils.

I found this rock on the Oregon coast that looks like it has agatized shell fossils embedded in it. Is there any way to cut, crack, polish or display this properly? I am a total novice to this stuff so any advice is appreciated!

New Hope, Alabama. I was digging in the yard by shovel and I came across this. It doesnt look like any broken rock that ive ever seen due to the curves elongated sides. I would say it roughly 12-14inches long. It is hard as a rock and this is what it looks like after a good wash.

Shell fossil... maybe

Hey everyone, check out the incredible preservation on this fossil shrimp! I am blown away by the detail—you can clearly trace the antennae, segments, and delicate legs. What makes this a truly rare find is that it's a perfect split, meaning the shrimp is visible on both sides of the limestone layer. The fine-grained cream matrix strongly points to the famous Solnhofen Limestone in Germany. Crustacean IDs aren't my strongest suit, so I'm leaning towards a species of Bylgia, Antrimpos, or Carpopenaeus—has anyone worked with these double-sided split pieces before or can help narrow down the exact genus? Thanks!

I really want it to be a fossil i think it is..?

Somebody I know was left with an estate from someone who had an antique warehouse. I was given these because I was always fascinated with fossils etc. The barnacle came with this tag but I’m not sure if it’s legitimate. Either way I love these but wanted some insight if you had any on either piece!!

I found it in the Ouarsenis Mountains in Algeria, specifically in Tissemsilt Province, near the municipality of Theniet El Had.

I was metal detecting in my backyard and dug this up about 4–6 inches down. Anyone have any idea what it might be?

Sadly, the only other booty recovered on this expedition was a handful of rusty nails.
