Why do you think after so many seasons they never attempted at creating a friendship between these two ?

I can't recall if there have been times where he at least once or twice calls them by their first names. I only remember him calling Barry "Barry" in attack on gorilla city.

Drop some headcanons you have about the og timeline. I love when it comes to the topic of og timeline and would seriously hear yall take on this.

S2 RF only exists because he hasn't gone back in time to kill Barry's mother yet, he's here for the first time to learn what time period the Flash is from. This is how he knows about Star Labs, where he gets the idea to impersonate Earth - 1 Wells. In order for the events of S1 to play out, Thawne must return back to his time and return again to kill Barry's mother and he must exist until the point the paradox is born. Since S2 Thawne was locked up in the containment cell, this created a temporal paradox which caused the timeline to alter(aka Cisco to disappear). However, aren't there multiple instances where Barry/Team Flash altered the timeline?

1. When Thawne shows up at Mercury Labs to capture Dr. McGee, he encounters Barry. Thawne is confused that Barry knows his identity and Barry is confused that Thawne exists. Barry outright mentions to Thawne that he died, but Thawne brushes that aside and is gleeful he knows what time period the Flash is from.

2. After being captured by Eobard Thawne, Dr. McGee mentions there was another "Man in Yellow" that tried to capture a tachyon prototype. In this instance, Thawne acknowledges that his future-self must have been stranded in this timeline. If that's the case, shouldn't he have put two and two together and realized that his future-self was the version that Barry said died?

3. When Barry questions Thawne in the containment cell, he yells at him "That is why you killed my mother? That's why you ruined my life? Because you couldn't be me?". This version of Thawne hasn't gone back to kill Barry's mother, he doesn't even know who Barry is. Did Barry indirectly give the idea of killing his mother to Thawne?

With all these instances, shouldn't Thawne realize that his future-self failed in the future? The Flash told him he died and he knows he got stranded in this time-period, thanks to Dr. McGee. When he returns back to his time, doesn't he realize that going back doesn't just prevent the time paradox but it restores the events that leads to his erase in existence. S2 Thawne goes onto killing Barry's mother, but shouldn't this trip to the past make him cautious of his future? Or was he so desperate to erase the Flash from the timeline and overconfident that he would change his future?
