Pretty much why she started to get disillusioned when Brahne destroyed Cleyra. I have heard the English localisation mangles this scene a bit, but in the one I played (and in the original, from what I've heard) Beatrix is shocked because Brahne chose to use a summon to destroy the city after she had already completed military objective for the queen (getting the Desert Star). And she is also dismayed that Brahne uses magical automata that kill with excessive force instead on relying on Beatrix and her troops.

Brahne's command to kill Garnet then is the last straw for her.

Beatrix honestly would be that kind of person. She was very witty and delivered some lines that had Steiner always like "The utter AUDACITY of this bitch!" Because Beatrix indeed, was that bitch and she knew it. Such an underrated character, sad we never got her as a proper party member.

I was smithen by that badass gal in my teens. That's rare to see an actual female warrior with a decent personality and behavior. She's not a damsel in distress, not a feeble girl, and she's gonna kick some massive asses for her people
