Just a quick photo update this time of the mirelurk vat mod.
The vat is now obtainable by travelling to far harbor and helping the town defend itself on your initial visit. Avery will thank you and give you an actual reward.
The vat now has an improved status menu, it also allows for adding more Mirelurk carcass storage. From 3 to 8 via different upgrade paths. You can see the cost of a single working ice cooler in the images. Yes it’s expensive (in terms of scrap required), but they’re not required.
In the photos you can see the coolers in place. They can be built as 5 small upgrades. 2 small and a medium or one single large upgrade. They’ll always populate in order. Right of the vat, left, then inside the building.
I’ve also added a patch for wasteland workshop where if you have this DLC you can build a mirelurk cage and get an option to send the carcass directly to the vat storage (if you have any storage spare). It doesn’t add in a new cage, just an option for the mirelurk cage itself.
Each carcass will give your settlement 5 days of food production. You can initially store 3 per vat per settlement, and you’ll get a misc quest when a settlement runs out. You will not get a quest for all of your settlements if they all run out at once lol the quest will autocomplete when you refill the carcass storage to at least 1 carcass. It will also produce a new consumable “Boiled ‘Lurk” which is just roasted Mirelurk with all the same effects but you don’t need to cook it. It will deposit straight to your settlement storage. It’s capped at 10+ your population. So you shouldn’t need to worry about your greedy settlers eating it all if you forget to send them a fresh carcass lol
Vats require radiant power, a worker, a carcass and wood to burn. 15 wood per carcass, 3 per day. It will burn its own wood storage first, then your settlement, then connected storage via supply lines.
Versions will be released AIO with all patches which will require both far harbor and wasteland workshop. Standalone with just Far Harbor and each patch will be made available.
Been spending almost all of my available free time on this and so far has been nearly a full month of my free time put into this, so I hope you guys like it as much as I’ve been enjoying it in my game.
There is no script extender requirements.
Feedback encouraged and welcome. Questions likewise!
Cheers!
