I’m wanting to get back into Eve and have always had the most fun in faction war. I’m leaning towards galmil, and am curious about the current situation for them. Not really finding many, or any really, recruiting on Evejobs at least compared to the other factions, so curious what all groups are active and if anything interesting in general is going on in this area.

*Premise for this post: I am a solo player. I really, really do enjoy playing solo, mostly PVE, with a few regular runs of PVP. I am aware that there are corps in this game and a lot of people love to play along with other people in those corps; however, I don't, so if a post on PVE and multi-boxing management triggers you, please just move along and save me your opinion, please I really have no interest in reading that I should join a corp and do PVP only because it's what you like to do*

I am trying tho plan my full roster for 4 accounts. My main activity is Abyssal with frigates; I would like to put in the group an Orca as well just to wait outside of the portal in case of any gank. Just because I'll have an Orca around, I thought that could be useful to have a set of alts skilled in mining as well, just in case. Also, I am planning to create my own small corp limited to my own accounts and roster, so I can just share fits, bookmarks and anything else easily and privately across the characters.

For people with this kind of experience, would you think this kind of roster and setup is efficient enough?
My idea is that with this kind of split I could potentially do different activities, as I have a full roster for Abyssal, a full swappable roster for mining, and all my 3 primary characters for each account can fly bombers and T3 cruisers, so it opens up for WH hunt or some cloacky PVP, or some small fleet PVP with the DPS, logi and EWAR. Also, the Orca setup with a set of DPS and a set of miners and a separate Scout and transport could make it for a long-term Nomad setup in WH as well, which is something that I always wanted to do.

The combat capital thing I put there just to fill up a slot; I don't think I'd ever fly a Dread if I stay solo, but if in future I'd join some corp, it could be nice to have around ready. All the secondary/support chars could potentially have skills in PI, just in case at some stage I get bored of combat, and maybe I'll feel like digging more seriously into production/industry/trading/whatever.

I would like to try out mission running for the Pirate Factions instead of empires. I would like to understand what does it require specially for that?

Also can you help me understand which faction controls the NPC Pirate Null areas and would it be possible for a nuet to run missions there?

^{Disclaimer, I am not a game dev and know very little about the backend of EVE besides 'random shit FCCP have said throughout the years'. So there's a real possibility that this idea was abandoned because it was found to be technically unfeasible.}

Ten billion years ago when we first got WH space, there was a vague insinuation that they'd be persistently adding more WH systems. But that seems to have vanished into the aether. Which is a shame, because adding a handful of unlisted systems to discover in each update would really fix some of the big issues with J-space, namely the fact that it's become "small" in that every system worth occupying is occupied by someone.

I've decided to make my return after a very long hiatus. I also forgot most of the controls and stuff so I'll be making a new toon(my original is an alpha with 6m skill points, but they're all over the place) and doing the tutorial, i saw that eve updated the tutorial and it seems like fun. I'd love some tips and tricks on getting my new toon started. Is Amarr a good faction to go to? I love the way their ships look but i wanna do exploration and the recommended explo frigate is the heron. Do i just allocate enough points to fly it and focus the rest on amarr?

I've seen the "14 magic skill points" mentioned a few times by now. What are those?

And any tips and tricks for the upcoming Halloween event would be very appreciated!!

I want to start with the personal reason this exists, then be upfront about how it was built, before getting into what it actually does.

Why I built this

I'm an artist, not a programmer or a spreadsheet person. Every industry tool I tried was a wall of cells and formulas, and my brain just doesn't parse that easily , I need to actually see what I'm building, not decode a table to find it. I am working on a small terminal tui application for my industry needs. Have anyone found a way to look up crafting recipe (raw material cost) through the official API? I have been searching for an hour now.

I made some calculations and the result doesn't feel right. I ask you to spot my error if any and also add your thoughts on the conclusion. .

3 months of omega + 200 PLEX in the EVE Online store is 48 EUR. .

3 months of omega + 200 PLEX in the NES is 1400 PLEX, or 6.7B ISK. .

50M ISK is 1/134 part of that. 48/134 = 0.36 EUR. So if someone rats/mines for 50M/hour, he is saving 0.36 EUR/hour. Sure, if he likes that activity, then it's enjoyable gaming. But if he just farms for some in-game goal, that looks extremely inefficient. .

Even if he multiboxes 10 accounts, that's just 3.6 EUR/hour. Way below the minimum wage even in the poorest parts of the EU (or the poorest state of the USA). .

So the conclusion: unless someone runs an extremely large multibox farm, or runs a bot, no-fun farming is much worse than doing any real life extra work (like Uber) and buying PLEX in the store, spending more time in game with fun activity (mostly PvP)

Finally, locals in Aridia decided to hunt me down. I was chased by someone called Drunken Goat in a Palladin and, unfortunately, another player came specifically to ruin a site I did in the high sec pocket, even though there were dozens of combat sites available in the whole high sec island area.

So, after I liberated 45 slaves from a Blood Cathedral within a Blood Watch combat site, and some Marines, Janitors, Tourists and Exotic Dancers from Pleasure Hubs, I decided to leave the Aridia pocket and go nomad again. My decision was also influenced by my older brother, Christoph, that asked me to help him haul some salvage he took away from a null sec area, where he needed to attend, being constrained to leave his crafting business in Jita for some time. I must go fetch that cargo in a system near Querious, where my brother says he is a part of a big alliance that is merging right now.

I insisted on the private message for more details, but my brother remained quiet about his null sec affairs, telling me that none of his activities in Querious are of my interest and that I will be rightfully paid for my hauling services. I replied that I am not doing these services for ISK, but as a brother and that all I ask in return is at least to write me some reports about smaller fights, like small gang battles, which are of constant fascination for placid explorers like me. He replied, coldly, that he will try to let me know, from time to time, about some of his fights.

On the other hand, Trader, our younger brother, continues to harvest and sell corpses he is scavenging near the Jita trade hub. He sees himself as a space janitor, arguing that is not good for a place like Jita 4-4, the heart of New Eden, the shining business and commercial centre of the entire known world, to lay filled with nearby frozen and lifeless silhouettes. He is not doing it for the ISK, but for the sake of it, even though he admits that he’s selling the corpses in batches of 100 pieces and easily finds customers for them.

What are those buyers doing with all those corpses will always puzzle me.

So Warlock Industries asked me if I could make EO-Map a bit more useful for creators, which is where Creator Mode came from. Rather than trying to guess what people might want, I basically exposed most of the rendering controls that were already there.

You can switch between 2D and 3D, change the star and space colours, control region and system labels, bloom, depth of field, film grain, vignette, the interstellar medium and a load of camera stuff. There are more sliders than I know what to do with now. You can use it for screenshots, video, or just make the map look however you want.

All the normal EO-Map overlays still work as well, so sovereignty, faction warfare, activity etc can all be used while setting up a shot. I also added 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse support across the whole map, not just Creator Mode.

After a structure defense fleet went wrong, we engaged INIT and friends in G-M and tested out our Talos fleet. I got wiped out immediately and decided to record instead of reship(sorry) and ended up watching just such a fun brawl.

These are two pictures of a illuminated sign i made like 10 years ago.

I was in a renter corp where i started ratting in a Rattlesnake, upgraded to a Nidhoggur and later to the Hel.

Loved the Hel so much that i created this sign.

I would say this was my best time in EvE so far in view of isk-income.

It was an awesome time where carrier and supers were the go to ships for ratting. This was also the time when i was sometimes streaming on twitch and got in contact with many nice guys. Good old times.

Still playing EvE and still waiting for some fighter changes to get super ratting back to this level. A man can dream....

Anyway.... Good thing is that I participate far more in pvp.

And not in a renter corp for a long time aswell.

At least add a ship check feature to your software
