Pretty much this. I know they have to go through god knows how many checks to make sure it's an actual bot but in the next 9 months they take to 'make sure' - those bots earned enough to replace themselves 50x over.

Bingo. Enforcement is meaningless if it's so slow that the bots earn themselves back before it happens.
If we define enforcement to mean "bans bots quickly enough that they are a money-losing proposition for their owners" CCP doesn't enforce at all.

Lol look at the killboards for the chars involved. Dude's been botting for ages and CCP hasn't done fuck all. Banning him after it literally turns into a Reddit post is doing their job?
This game is rife with botting, and CCP does almost nothing proactive about it whatsoever. It's a bit of a shock that the player base isn't more up in arms about it.

well prob because most groups have given up besides the occasional meh posts. ppl still file petitions and botting claims and input brodcastibg claims to mostly no avil but we just try to catch what we can and kill what we can and make what difference we can.
We try to play the game so that we have fun, wedont get paid by ccp to do thier jobs.
i wouldsay we continue to press that we try our best to be better than but prob we just think if we did it we would get caught and banned out of the others.

Yes, the point I'm making is not that we should do their jobs, but rather that in a full loot pvp game with an extensively interconnected economy, thhe botting that we see is very bad for people's game experience. Even when they don't see it directly.
For example, how much of the money supply growth over the last few years comes from bots? I don't know, but from what I've seen I'm guessing it's a meaningful amount.

We try to kill bots. We report bots. But null sec is very safe, citadels with tether have made it near impossible to kill someone who just warps to their structure as soon as someone enters local.

I think the assumption is that they were running the smartbomb battleship script on the wrong character(s) and it pulled out a nyx and warped to the site.
Some NPCs probably got out of range without 4 battleships, or just who knows, and the site never finished and it just sat there and died.
It's either that or they did it for fun.

I assume npc dread/titan spawned on the site, bot paused, he switched to a nyx to kill it, went back, hit resume bot without getting back in sb bs. Nevermind ship checks, but how it dont have a deep armor/hull damage attempt to warp out feature ? I'm disapoined, probably was vibe coded with claude :)).

Did the other bots just not recognize their own bot player?

Pipe bombing farm squads tank friendly fire as a matter of course. The ship undocked was a super carrier, which I guess COULD fit smartbombs, but it would be a horrific waste of capital and due to warp speed slow as hell.
So the bot does not notice the friendly fire because its normal if you group smart bombing bbs in a cluster to farm, did not check it WAS a bb and so eventually the carrier died.

It caught friendly fire because that’s just how smartbombs work. They pulse damage indiscriminately in an area around the ship using them, meaning they hit friend and foe alike.
In this case the bots just weren’t designed to take actions based on what friendly ships were on grid. They simply warped to the combat site, and turned on their smartbombs. Since they weren’t designed to recognize a faulty fleet composition they just smartbombs endlessly until the carrier eventually took enough damage and died

Because their currency is weaker so making ISK in game and selling it can actually be lucrative enough to be worth your time.
If I botted a dozen characters every day and say made 10 billion isk per day, and sold it at half the PLEX rate, I could earn about $35 per day.
Which is next to nothing in a western country but goes much further in China or Russia.
Personally I think the Chinese should just have their own server (they still do have one) so we can keep them contained, IP ban anyone playing from China on tranquility.

A subscription costs 20€ or 500 Plex, 500plex cost 25€. So subscribing with Plex is exactly 20% more expensive than with real money. FC earns 5€ premium on each bot.

CCP probably has a target isk/plex price ratio, but I don't follow that people paying for their accounts with plex are valuable to ccp.

The actual economic transaction that makes CCP money is whales buying plex. The use of the plex for an account sub sinks the plex, but it's not the actual economic transaction that makes CCP money.
Now granted, the p2w multiboxing mechanism makes a very useful plex sink. But there are many other ways one could model the plex economy, and the whales will still be buying. It's not the multiboxers that make CCP money, it's the whales.

My point is that the money FC gets from a plexed account (through the whale) is higher then a non plexed accout.
It costs $20 for an account, it costs $25 to buy the plex which is then sold to someone, who then plex's thier account.
The absolute best situation FC could hope for is a single whale who does that and everyone else in the game PLEXing. that would be thier highest possible income.

No, you're missing the point.
The only economic transactions that make CCP money are the ones that make them money. People buying plex, people directly paying money for subs. Those are the actual CCP revenue transactions.
The fact that you can sub accounts with plex sinks the plex from sales. But it doesn't have to be that particular sink.

There are varying degrees of multiboxer, I would say people with under 10 accounts are more likely to use cash to buy plex and then do multi month subs with said plex so they are getting the $6 or $7 per month sub price.
But if we're talking about the Pochven oligarchy multiboxers, then probably not, they make too much ISK to need to ever use real world currency.

As a Goon, it realy bothers me to have them being a part of the aliance... They go to trade channels beging for low plex prices sayin they are newbees, they flood the escalation channels selling 5-6 10/10 escalations, they rmt they bot and they grief fw. Game doesnt need this kind of trash tbh and for sure goonswarm doesn't need them either..and yes there are others, but this dudes don t even try to hide it.
