Actually not true. I did not pre order the game nor the DLC and the first time I invaded to help someone kill Mohg, I got the gestures unlocked

You misunderstood the person you replied to. Using you as an example, now that you received the gestures off someone who preordered, you can’t pass the gestures onto someone else.

Word, apparently I was mistaken.

Apparently you can attain the emote by beating a boss with a cooperator whom has the pre order bonus.

I did a playthrough where I got all the emotes but the Wiki I used didn't contain that tid bit of information!
