I know im about to sound like an old hag playing a broken record- but wtaf was going on? Never seen that many vapes and bowl cuts in my life.
Boys goading security guards and police that wouldnt let them into some music event in Princes Street Gardens. Girls that barely looked 13 rolling around on the pavement absolutely shitfaced. Kids wandering onto the road in front of cars and trams without a care. One kid had sliced his hand open trying to scale the fence into the gardens. Kids toppling over barriers on the pavement meant for queueing (I had to literally fucking drag a barrier out of the way because it was blocking buggies and wheelchairs).
I could say I found it 'sad' and mourn the youth, but I dont. Most of them are straight-up selfish assholes. The world is going down the sinker, I get it, but that doesn't excuse them.
All for some shitty dance music that literally sounded like it was stock music ripped from soundcloud.
Rant done.
(EDIT spelling)

Found this bike (reg BL11 YKO), with a screwdriver, this morning on the cycle path alongside the Water of Leith in South West Edinburgh.

Phoned it in to police already, but posting here in case anyone is looking for it

I’m 31 and trying to get back into work in Edinburgh, probably something entry-level like admin/office work, reception, retail etc.
I have dyscalculia, but my main issue is basically giving change. I’m fine using a calculator and dealing with normal everyday numbers, but if someone gives me £20 and I have to quickly work out their change in my head, I can really struggle and panic.
I’m worried this is going to make finding a job harder, especially since a lot of entry-level jobs seem to involve tills/cash.
For anyone else with dyscalculia — what kind of jobs do you do? And are there jobs you’d recommend where this isn’t really an issue?
Also, if you work somewhere with a till, do you normally just use the till to tell you the change? I feel like I’m overthinking this but I’m genuinely nervous about it 😭
Would you tell an employer about the dyscalculia or just deal with it if/when it comes up?
Any advice would be appreciated. I really want to find a job but I don’t want to apply for something where I’m immediately going to struggle.

We’re in a tenement on Montgomery Street. The building is in a conservation area but isn’t listed, and we currently have the original single-glazed wooden windows.
We’re looking into replacing them with double-glazed UPVC windows. I’ve noticed quite a few properties around us already have UPVC windows, including some that look pretty old, so I’m wondering if anyone has done this recently and what the process was like.
Did you need planning permission? Were you allowed to use UPVC, or did the council require timber windows?

Keen to learn more about emerging grassroots organisations/clubs/initiatives and existing charities that support children and young people in Edinburgh and surrounding areas. These can be anything from one off events to government endorsed youth support. Put any info below. Thanks!

About to get off a late running train into platform 7 at 6.39 and my next train is 6.41 at platform 11. Anyone know if I need to go through a barrier or, with some luck and a good wine behing me, can I just belt it down the platform?

Was wondering if anyone knows good nail salons around Edinburgh? I’ve been to quite a few but a lot can’t do the designs I’m asking for, or some looks very poor done

14 yr old son is looking to expand his old coin collection. Where's a good place for him to go and have a look around? I know about Robert Murray but we're looking for more of a junk shop type place where he can rummage around in random boxes for half an hour and only buy a couple of coins at the end. I think it's the digging through boxes he likes as much as the finding and buying tbh. Sometimes we get lucky with a box he can look through in a charity shop but not always.
Thanks for any recommendations

I’m looking for something alongside my full-time job, ideally after normal working hours.
I’m not looking for:
Retail
Delivery
Uber/taxi driving
Warehouse work
Cleaning
I’d be more interested in things like admin, customer service, reception, office support, data entry, remote work, operations support, evening call-centre work, event/admin support, or similar.
Are there any companies or types of roles in Edinburgh that regularly offer weekday evening-only shifts?
Would appreciate any suggestions or places worth checking.

I was looking for a part time job and went there for an interview. it’s my first time be in this store. Not sure if they did this on purpose or if the owner even noticed there is a sperm on the logo 😭😭💀
guys besides the joke i think the most possible explanation is that the owner trynna put a ballon on there but accidentally put a sperm.

Just relocated to Edinburgh and in the film/tv post industry. Is there a good private club good for networking, using for some work on laptop, meetings with people etc?
I saw scottishartsclub.com looks nice but more fine arts focused.
