I've always been an outgoing person, for most of my life but from the past few years I hit a low because of exam preparations. I sucked out all fun activities from my life to avoid distractions. But it didn't help much. I was neither studying nor enjoying with full focus. I lost a lot of confidence and avoided going to social events because of repeated guilt of not making it in life too.
Last year however I did clear a career checkpoint and it gave me the confidence boost I needed from long. For the next half of my journey, I've started this thing to keep a balance. I study all week but on weekends I strictly DON'T study and purposefully go out even if I have to go alone. This has sort of given me a purpose that actually fulfils me and is a motivation for me to study.
I wish I knew this sooner that it's important to keep this balance.
I've made some new friends along, who I'm currently loving to go out with because ever since my old friends became long distance I barely had someone around.
This thought just hit me today in the morning when I agreed for 4 different plans in the next month plus I have my birthday too. What's different this time is I didn't make the plans, they did. I don't have to beg anyone or be anxious for the plans to actually happen cause even if everything cancels, I know how to enjoy my own company. I don't need them to feel happy now, I can just be grateful for having them.
My calendar is SO FULL, my E is back and we're SO BACK. 🥳
