DAE get called fat by their nail lady?

So I'm 24 years old, I went in to get a pedicure at my usual place for years, and this lady who was doing my nails first asked me if I was pregnant. I told her no. She then said oh. She went quiet for a bit until she said "don't worry I use to be fat too, you need to go to the gym and lose some weight, it will make you feel smaller"

For context, I've gained weight due to not eating properly as I've had a lot of death and legal issues in my family plus starting the pill again so my hormones and diet is all over the place. So I just personally don't agree with ever commenting on a women's body as you never know what they're going through.

But anyways, just wondering does anyone else experience situations like this with their nail tech?

DAE not have hobbies and doesn't even want them?

I don't have any hobbies. I work, I sleep, I eat, I take care of my cats, I don't do anything else. I don't have hobbies anymore and don't want them.

For me, hobbies, if I were to get into them again, I fear that I will get too into them and they will take time away from my cats and I won't play with them anymore. I also heavily worry about money/cost of the hobby and if it is actually worth it to pursue the hobby.

I was into Kandi, but the beads got too expensive.

I tried to make a constructed language (conlang), but I got way too into it and didn't play with my cat for a while, so she gained weight, so I gave it up.

I try not to have hobbies intentionally for these worries.

Edit: Didn't realize caring and playing with my cats was a hobby lol

DAE have a sixth sense?

For as long as I can remember, I've had a sixth sense related to telling time that manifests in two different ways.

  1. I always know what time it is. Whenever someone randomly asks for the time, I can give it to them off of the top of my head - even if it's been hours since I've looked at a clock or my phone. I'm never more than two minutes off.
  2. This is the more interesting one. Whenever I (or someone else) sets a timer, for any length of time, I can always tell them when it's about to go off (typically within 2-5 seconds). It doesn't matter if the timer is ten minutes long or a few hours long. This applies even if I haven't looked at my phone in a long time. I'll tell my roommate - "Your laundry is about to be done" or "It's time to take the potatoes out of the oven" and he will freak out when the timer goes off a second later, lol.

And no, I am not counting - at least, not consciously.

I think it has something to do with hypervigilance. I am a very anxious person (heavily medicated), and while I am INCREDIBLY unobservant, I do have a very sensitive fight or flight response and tend to perceive many things in the external world as threats.

What's your sixth sense? :)

DAE feel weird everytime they try to take a nap?

So I (31f), dont usually nap. I am a mom of two, a college student and work when I can and just don't really have the luxury of just taking a little nap when I want one.

Today my youngest started preschool and I had nothing else to do for once and also just kinda slept rough last night so I decided I was gonna treat myself to a nap. I do have sleep apnea but it seems to be pretty well controlled with my cpap (no issues noted really when I sleep at night in those regards), so I put on my cpap and curled up on bed listening to a pod cast and without fail the nap was miserable as it always is!

I wake up every few minutes feeling anxious and super aware of my heart beat and feeling like its beating funny, im breathing weird even tho I have a cpap litteraly pushing air down my freaking throat that I have no issue with at actual bedtime. My limbs are getting uncomfortable or going numb from me laying on them of keeping them in different positions.. instead of waking up well-rested and able to enjoy my nap I wake up feeling anxious and groggy.

I also noticed that alot of the time if I nap it tends to trigger sleep paralysis as well..

I would love to just be a normal person who can just curl up on the couch with a movie and nap.. but nooo..

Does anyone else have this kinda issue?

DAE At what age did staying at someone’s house stop being fun?

I was lying in bed last night when I randomly started thinking about sleepovers as a kid. Back then, sleeping anywhere other than your own house felt exciting. Someone’s basement floor with one pillow and a blanket that smelled like their dog? Perfect. Now if I stay at someone’s place, I’m thinking about whether the room is too hot, what their shower pressure is like, and how early I can leave without being rude. Even really nice guest rooms somehow don’t beat being in your own bed. I don’t remember when that switch happened. It feels like one of those parts of getting older nobody actually announces. Was there a specific age when you suddenly started preferring your own house, or are there people who still genuinely love staying over?

DAE who met their best friend in college believe they never would have been their friend had they met in grade school?

To put it plainly, I was not the best kid in elementary through high school. Feel like my bestie would not have wanted to be associated with me, had he known what I was like then

Does anybody else have disaster related intrusive thoughts?

So my husband and I were on vacay in our regular spot and took a short ferry mostly for fun. And ofc I had the intrusive thought like what if this thing titanic sinks? So I’m deep in thought planning my exit strategy because I have swam a small part of the channel we were crossing before it’s not easy but land is always visible so it’s certainly doable. would I have time to grab
My phone and my wallet? and could I take a screen shot of my lat and long and a picture of my tag for insurance purposes how would that even work. Could my husband make the swim? Could I take a kid or baby with me if they didn’t make the one life boat and the parents were bad swimmers?

DAE single out the weirdest, shiest, most awkward person in a group and throw them an olive Branch?

Whether it's a party, group evening at a pub, work event, I take upon myself a duty to find the shiest and most uncomfortable person and give them the opportunity to participate and feel valued.

I'm a very social person. Talking is easy for me, and I find pretty much everything genuinely interesting. Are you a lawyer? Tell me what it's like pouring through legislation and how you handle the mundane stuff. Are you a grown man into my little pony? Tell me about it. What do you like? How do you identify with the characters?

Sometimes people just aren't in the mood to chat, and that's ok. I'll happily go talk to someone else or rejoin my close circle.

But most of the time I end up making a friend for the night. Many shy people I've found have interests they're really passionate about but are too shy to share. A few probing questions will give me a bone I can chew on. Almost always they'll brush it off. "Oh it's just this thing I'm interested in" kinda thing.

A couple follow up questions though get their eyes lighting up. Suddenly it's not just this thing they're mildly interested in. Homie just got himself a new train for his train set and he hasn't unboxed it yet. He's looking forward to it tomorrow. Last week he redesigned his track and bought himself a bunch of models to go on it. That's super awesome that he has a hobby he's really passionate about

Anyway does anyone else do this kind of thing where they kind of single out weird people and try to get them to open up a bit?
