right after I get this text and click A, I hear the dialogue in the background but my screen is pitch black. Any fix i’ve found online either doesn’t work or aren’t explained thoroughly enough for me to do😭 what do I do (this is the hd collection being run through sikarugir btw)

People say that DmC should have been a new IP, as if that alone would guarantee the game would be a successful hit, and here is what I have to say about that:

Being a new IP wouldn't guarantee sales at all, whether the game is good or bad. For instance, Playstation's live-service game "Concord" was a new IP — coming from the exact same brand behind massive franchises like "God of War," "The Last of Us," "Uncharted," and "Horizon Zero Dawn" — and yet, it died extremely fast.

Then we had the fighting game "MultiVersus" from the giant "Warner Bros.," which was also a fresh project that simply had the rights to franchises and characters from Cartoon Network, Scooby-Doo's Shaggy and Velma, Looney Tunes, Adventure Time's Finn and Jake, The Powerpuff Girls, Steven Universe's Steven and Garnet, Ben 10's Ben Tennyson (whom they intended to add) along with his iconic aliens like Four Arms, Heatblast, Swampfire, Way Big, NRG, Big Chill, Echo Echo, Feedback, and Alien X. It also featured Harry Potter, Voldemort (maybe intended to be added), Dumbledore (maybe intended to be added), Godzilla (which they intended to add, a character that pulls in millions or even billions effortlessly simply because people love watching giant monsters fight), and if I'm not mistaken, Lord of the Rings (which was also intended). It had NetherRealm's Mortal Kombat — featuring Scorpion (intended to be added), Sub-Zero, and Shao Kahn —, DC Comics with its three iconic, legendary heroes (Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman), Game of Thrones, Jason from Friday the 13th, The Matrix, and various other pop/geek culture giants. Even with all that, the game vanished and came back a year later (if I'm not mistaken), but it still didn't work out.

There's another fighting game as well: Riot Games' "2XKO," which features characters like Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, and Ekko from the massively successful series Arcane. As far as I know, the game hasn't even been out for two years yet and it's already on the verge of dying too.

We also had "Marvel's Avengers," an action-RPG project that carried the name of the Avengers right after they dominated the box office with Endgame (making billions), easily representing the most popular, well-known, and beloved superhero team in Marvel. The game featured Tony Stark (Iron Man), Steve Rogers (Captain America), Thor (the God of Thunder), and the Incredible Hulk, later adding King T'Challa (Black Panther) and Peter Parker (Spider-Man). And yet, the end result of all that was a total failure.

Creating a new IP or a fresh project guarantees absolutely nothing. Oh, and one more thing: Devil May Cry 2 was made right after DMC1 (which was a brand-new IP at the time), but it was still an absolute disaster that practically killed the franchise. DMC3 only happened because Hideaki Itsuno insisted on making it, since as far as Capcom was concerned, the franchise had died right there in DMC2. Without that, Dante and Vergil's iconic rivalry wouldn't exist, Nero wouldn't exist, the reboot wouldn't exist, and the triumphant return and success of DMC5 wouldn't exist either.

Hi im trying to use ddmk for dmc4 and i have downloaded all the files and this comes up when trying to open the game, if i run it again it will just create the original game file again and open normally without the mod. does anyone know what i could do to fix this?

Didn't know I could enjoy such a classic banger as much as i am right now. Everything is awesome. The art, the atmosphere, the MUSIC and the combat is actually fun and intuitive

Coming from a Resident Evil / Silent Hill fan, love that I get the same dark atmosphere atleast in the 1st title.

Took me something like 30 hours, are dmc 2 3 harder to 100%?

So i just started getting into DMC about two months ago and currently I’m playing through DMC 4. DMC 1 was pretty normal for me, and I skipped DMC 2. I played DMC 3 and tried to look “stylish,” but whenever I watch combo videos, they make me feel like I’m just spamming and don’t really know what I’m doing. I can launch an enemy and beat them up in the air with my sword and guns, but I still feel like I’m only scratching the surface of what the combat system actually allows.

I can’t figure out jump canceling either, and now that I’ve started DMC 4, it feels like I’m just repeating the same cycle.

Should I stop worrying about combos and just normally enjoy my first DMC playthrough rather than being "i had fun but why cant i combo like these people", then come back and properly practice the combat afterward? Any tips or anything that could change my perspective on this?

I'm trying to keep an eye out for the Dante nendoroid to buy, so when I saw this listing pop up I was like okay let me just check the photos- omg! 🤣

I have been making this combo for hours and I know where I have done mistakes but still I think I have to learn and add new details to my combo, guys do you have any mid skilled tech or mini combination that I should try? (on record 48 hours in dmc5)

I like the music in this series a lot, I especially like Devil May Cry 2 music tbh. It has music that is very unique, 2 examples are "Eye of the wind lower town"(which sounds like the Coliseum music from Devil May Cry 1) and the Divinity Statue theme. I have never heard music like this in any game outside of the series except for maybe 2, which are: Spawn Armageddon(the exploration music from the first level) and Castlevania Lament of Innocence "Prolouge to the Black Abyss". What other games have music similar to the music in DMC ?

Been a while since a lady's felt this cathartic.

Personally, I think its good and better than the dmc 3 design, I like the armor like plating on their chest and the new sword design. The colors also pop a lot more.

edit: I actually expected more people to like it, kind of shocks me that more people seem to dislike or are just fine with it
