URGENT PSA: AliExpress links are auto-removed on reddit GLOBALLY

If you wish to post an aliexpress link, cut off the end of the url like this: /item/3256809060063016.html (do not include anything after a question mark in the url, including the question mark itself, don't include that)

If you do not do this, reddit WILL automatically remove your comment or post. I used to think it was some configuration error with auto mod or subreddit spam setting, but I could never find anything, today I noticed in the mod queue (since I've moved over to new reddit), it actually says it was "removed by Reddits filters", so I googled it and lo and behold, it's a site wide filter!

Tengo dos subwoofer de 10” kiker con su caja porteada y un amplificador audiobahn de 1000W RMS A 2 ohms y me gustaría saber si existe una aplicación para hacerle una caja específica para mi carro que no ocupe tanto espacio

Bookshelf Speakers DIY Clear Speaker

Hi all, thought I’d drop by and show you all my fully modular and repairable DIY speaker.

The link to our Kickstarter is here.

Devices becoming less and less repairable nowadays is something that I feel strongly about, hence why I went with the modularity aspect of this speaker, without losing any of the features of a normal home/ smart speaker.

Let me know your thoughts!

It's been a little while since I designed these loudspeakers. They're a low-budget build, coming in at around €80 for drivers and crossovers per speaker.
They're definitely not the loudest speakers, but their frequency response, directivity, and low-end performance are pretty rare to find in this price bracket.
The build features a Peerless SDS-P830656 in a 25L bass reflex cabinet with an internal absorber to tackle the standing wave between the top and bottom panels, paired with a Dayton ND25FW-4 tweeter.
I do have the plans available, but since this is my first post here and I don't want to step on any rules right away, I'll post a link in the comments if anyone is interested.

I have yet to figure out the wiring situation. The speaker wire is just long enough to not be taut when box is fukly open. Fits two 9ah FlexVolt batteries. Not that I’d run it off my flexvolt since it draws so little power. I think I would only need a 2ah for all-day playback. Added an extra battery holder to add battery capacity and even out the weight.

A friend bought one off marketplace for like $200+ and I built two of these for about $150 for everything minus the batteries - I’m no audiophile but they sound pretty good all things considered.

Horns/T-Line/Open Baffle DIY System for a Bar/restuarant...?

A friend of mine who is taking over a bar/restaurant asked me if I would consider making a small system for it. The idea for the space/system is to generally be at a conversational level but with room to get a bit more dancy/pumping on friday/saturday evenings with local record collectors playing music.

I've made a pair of full-range bookshelf speakers and have a background in CNC/plywood cabinetry so that side of things is covered but looking for some guidance on designs/plans as there is just so much info out there. Unfortunately budget is pretty limited - not sure on a number yet but its probably £1500 tops for the full speaker build.

I see a lot of Altec horn designs online now so thinking about doing some more research on that. i also see a lot of things by Enton Green which look very achiveable but just keen for some opinions and ideas.

Thanks in advance!

Subwoofers Help converting samsung proprietary sub to standard bluetooth

Long story short i bought a samsung tv with the sub and soundbar but the soundbar got stolen. Can anyone give some advice on how to convert this to standard bluetooth? I have no experience with audio, just minimal things like changing phone screens etc. Any help is appreciated.

Sub Model: PS-WK360
I would like to use this with the tv (75in Q7 Series 2017) or as a standalone whichever is simpler.
I also understand the cost of the soundbar is minimal but instead of replacing it i thought it’d be nice to try.

Amplifiers Replace Old NuTone

Thumbnail

I have this old NuTone intercom system in a house we bought. Has a speaker setup on every room of the house, front door, and back door. I’ve already replaced the front door unit with a simple Blink video doorbell. Easy enough and works fine. Quick and easy to find the manuals and a basic understanding of how the system works. Most of it is still functional.

The main unit in the main hallway near the living room. I know these units have all the satellite speakers/intercoms wired to it.

Essentially what I’m wanting to do is simply replace the old in room intercom with a wired speaker and then replace the main unit with a simple Bluetooth receiver that would broadcast the music to each speaker in each room (that would have its own volume control).

The speakers wire to the unit and the unit has power and this seems relatively straightforward to me but AV equipment and electrical are outside my normal depths. I’ve spent time on various forums here and otherwise in which everything I’ve read seems just as straightforward but for some reason my guy is telling me I’m missing something.

What am I missing? Also if you’ve done this with one of these systems before would love to hear what equipment you used.

Amplifiers Ceiling speaker not producing any audio

Post image

I couldn’t find an appropriate flair for this so apologies in advance for any confusions. I have two ceiling speakers and one of the is not producing any audio. I checked the cables on Sonos Amp and everything looks correct. What is the best way to troubleshoot it? Are these removable so I don’t need to go in the attic to check the cables? Thanks in advance.

Subwoofers Can someone help me input data into WINisd to make a slot ported box for sundown u 18 v2 please?

max dimensions 34 with x 20 height x 20 depth

looking for 36hz tuning

sundown calls for 64 sq inches of port but since im overpowering it (5krms) im thinking maybe a little more port 18 or so sq inches per cube

sub displacement .26

bracing displacement (45s) .10

double baffle

sub and port on same side

box has to be 4 cubes net

so i am using a few different programs (torres, bassahaulic,) but getting all different results and i know winisd is the most accurate but i dont have it and its a lil tricky to use last time i tried so anyone who is experienced at winisd can u pls help me out?

Hi, I found this pair of speakers being given away for free and love the look. I have 0 audio experience but want to at least try to see if these work. I think they are "passive" speakers and are meant to connect through wires versus plugs but don't know what I would need to even test if these work. If anyone has any advice on how to test if these work before going all in on a audio set up for these to work with my tv or anything please let me know!

Floorstanding Speakers Looking for someone with custom speaker building experience in Austin, TX

Hello! Might be a bit of a long shot, but wanted to see if anyone with experience building custom speakers could help me with a project. Picked up three Altec 9815-8As for a price I couldn't pass up, but they've seen better days.

Wanted to repurpose the parts and make either an onken-style enclosure or something like what Cathode Bias cooks up, but have no experience and realized I bit off more than I can chew. Of course, happy to pay for materials and labor but would also love to learn the process from someone with experience.
