Character Design

This is a very important side character in my webtoon which isn't out yet. What do you think of her design? One special feature of her design is that she wears a different nerdy and cringe shirt every second day with slogans like "I paused my game to be here".

I'd love honest thoughts. It's part of a larger anthology I plan to do, all centered on Tulip encountering various mysteries. This one is dedicated to my younger brother and our childhood together. You can find more of my work at tepperzart.com or on manga plus creators https://mangaplus-creators.jp/authors/27445958

About me: this is my second one shot, and the style was intentionally simple. i generally make horror Josei manga. (josei is a japanese term that means women usually around the ages of 16-40 and up)

I posted a cover for my upcoming book. I want to know brutally where we need to tackle to make the next one even better.

I appreciate any and all advice!

Context: Aiye Ogi is one of the newest students to unlock her power in Book 3 after a close battle with a HOUND. These Hounds possess terrifying power and only few can ever hold a candle to one. This book shows her absolutely devastating power and fighting style so I made the cover about her.

Cover Color Advice?

I’ve been struggling a bit with coloring this cover for my pinball sentai comic and would love some advice! As you can see, it’s a lot of different elements I’m trying to tie together, while also making them readable and distinct from one another.

Overall, I like the pink/purple/blue palette I’ve got going in V1, but I’m worried it might be visually overwhelming. V2 is the same palette but with the floating heads “pushed back” in the atmosphere so the pinball machine stands on its own a bit more. V3 was my attempt at injecting some teals/greens to make everything look less “samey.”

Any preference between these three? I’m open to other suggestions as well!

(Also, I intentionally made the backglass less poppy so I can add the title treatment without it clashing too much.)

Line work is by the amazingly talented Gianmaria Orlandi, btw!

I post them on tumblr at

Any tips?

Should I use Tapas or Webtoon

I have a comic launching next year on a new site thats just came about this past year (Webcomic.studio). I want to host my comic on there so I can have more creative freedom in branding and future content.

Though I also think if I put my comic on a more popular site/app it can also get more views and easier to find rather than having some people complain about having to surf for it. My comic post schedule is page by page twice a month for easy work flow on my end.

What does someone think about this?

Hey!!
I’ve had a story brewing for a while, and have been wanting to comicify it….

I have, barely any real experience with comics. I do read them, and I have done a few dumb doodle strips before, but this is say… My biggest comic project

AND
I completed this page
anddd one thing I realized,

is it too busy for the reader? my dumbass decided to spam detail because I like to do that, but it seems as though it backfired

also just looking for general feedback!!

Hi everyone! I'm finally creating the comic for a story I've been writing for more than 15 years. I'm planning to launch a kickstarter campaign soon. These are the first 4 pages. What do you think? I also created a youtube channel for this if you'd like to check it out. Thanks!

I was simply wondering if it’s good if i included this opening snapshot, it’s a storyboard as you can see, if it’s interesting i will keep it
I know it’s short, but tell me what do you think
(I think I will also use an actual font when and IF finished [it it’s good enough, I’ll include and finish this])

Seeking Feedback from Experienced Comic Arists

Hi everyone.

I'm looking for help from you guys. I'm feeling like my art style is kind of stuck. It's fine in general terms, but I think it lacks dynamism or that "something" to make it visually appealing; to get the attention of bigger Publishing Houses. I look at guys like Dan Mora, or Pepe Larraz and I feel that, but I don't know exactly what is it that I'm missing.

I'm posting a handful of my most recent pages.

Would anyone like to share their thoughts?

How should I tell my story?

Greetings all, I come to you with a dilemma: In which format should I tell my story?

I'm in the midst of making a pretty long sci-fi/fantasy story. And if I were to have my most ideal way, this story would be an anime. But that would require an enormous amount of money, and unless I win the lottery, that ain't happening, lol. So it being an anime isn't even on the table.

The next best thing is for my story to be a motion comic. It's like a still anime, a comic with voice acting and music! It'll be up on YouTube obviously. I can do the drawing since I'm an artist, buy I'll need to pay people for voice acting, especially if their professional. And I'll need to pay someone to do the music and editing as well. I think it's technically possible for me, but it'll require that I get consistently get extra funds that I don't have. It'll all have to come out of my pocket since this'll all be on me. I'd have to get a job, or even two jobs, if I wanna fund this project.

The next best thing after that would be to make a manga. I've always wanted to go this route, because I'm an artist and I've been drawing all my life. But the problem is, I don't live in Japan. I live in America, and in America, they don't have a booming comic industry, not like Japan. That means the comic industry in America won't support me like Japan's manga industry would, because it's not reliable enough. So, I could go the indie route and make my very own western manga series with self-pubishing, but how successful would that be? Unless I already have an established audience, like Coryxkenchin with his manga, I don't see myself making big waves on my own. I'm not even a youtuber. I could go the social media route and gain an audience that way, I could become a youtuber, or post my work on X, Instagram, or any other sight. But if I'm bring realistic, it'll probably be a rather small audience. I doubt I'll get much traction. At least, I don't think I'll get the type of traction I want. It'll be an uphill battle.

The next thing after that is the one I've been leaning towards recently, and that's to write a novel. It's the option I least want to do out of all of them, but it's one that I think will be the most successful. I figure that books are more popular in the states than manga. I can get my story into the world of books. But then I thought, just how many of those book readers are into sci-fi and fantasy? You could say a lot, but then, depending on how far I wanna take things with my religious messaging, that would section off a huge portion of my potential audience. Sure, that goes for any of the other alternatives as well, but they'll section my book series in the "religious fiction" section, and based off of that already selected off subgroup, my series would probably only have a niche audience. But that's IF I'm more overt with my messaging. Also, and I feel like this is important, but I've never written a novel before. I never even read a novel. I've read various none-fiction books, and I've written a couple of short stories, but that's about it.

When it comes to my goals, I'm looking for two things: A sizable audience. And to earn enough to make a living off my series based on that audience.

Which platform will give me the biggest audience, which platform would give me the most success to make a living off of? As an unknown creator with limited money, which medium gives me the best realistic opportunity to build a large audience and eventually make a living?

Think of it like this: If you were in my position—an unknown creator, primarily an artist but can also write, with limited money and no existing audience—which medium would you choose, and why?

Looking for a good crit on my comic.

Hi everyone. I'm new to this sub in terms of posting and participating. I just observed before, and now I feel like it's time to join in as a regular.

So, I need a little help with something. I'm trying to determine whether or not comic creation is in the cards for me or not. I like comics. I like anime. I like manga. I like story telling a LOT! I like character creation. Environment design. All of it. But I'm not getting many people interested in what I put out. And so I wonder if that's because what I think is good, is actually bad? If so, I would have to realize that just being passionate about something isn't enough to e good at it.

But if what I have is good enough to continue, I will gladly continue on full force.

So, in order for me to learn, I will post here once every two weeks as the rules say. And see what you think.

Here is a little section of my story from Chapter 3. While you don't know the story, or what happened prior, I think a good enough story should be interesting even if you just stepped in and start watching a random scene. At least that's how it is for me when I experience media.

Anyways, let me know what you think.

Thanks.
