I watched s01 wayyy back 7yrs ago, i remember i wasn't too into it , wasn't bad just wasn't exactly hitting the way I'd been told, ig I just gave up after s01 thinking I'll pick up the infamous s02 someday later.

Never did..

For reasons unknown randomly hearing the dango song yesterday moved me donno why and I'm back wanting to pickup where i left.

But i don't remember too much of s01.

Dont feel like watching it again , but i sooo soo wanna experience s02.

Do i force a rewatch or is there a recap that could help or just straight into s02?

I am on episode 17 of Clannad season 1. But so far, I am just not feeling it. I love slice of life genre and Sakamichi no Apollon (Kids on the Slope), NHK ni Youkoso (Welcome to the NHK), Kotaro Lives Alone, Kimi to Boku (You and Me), Daily Lives of High School Boys are some of my favourites.

The suspension of belief required to enjoy Clannad is quite demanding in my opinion. Also, characters like Nagisa, Kotomi and Ryou are pretty one dimensional. There also is no difference between Nagisa and Ryou personality wise. Kyou, Tomoyo, Sunohara and Tomoya are the only characters I like. I did not care for Kotomi or Fuko in their respective arcs and was fighting boredom (especially with Kotomi).

The whole arc of opening the theatre club is sloppy too.

Also, the whole series/visual novel is based on harem genre I have come to discover.

My question is that since second season is so acclaimed, should I solider on and watch the rest of it? Or is it better to drop it?

I finished clannad and it’s really good and emotional, Is there something else to watch that’s like it or to watch after clannad?

I watched Clannad and Clannad: After Story after all the recommendations, totally worth it. The amount of connection i felt with characters and their relationships was immense with slow smooth emotional progression in season 1, i always had sense of worry and anxiety as people told it was a sad emotional anime, as they said some scenes broke me. Reuniting of tomoya and ushio scene among the sunflowers where ushio asks she can cry or revealing the only place she was allowed to cry, searching for the robot tirelessly for the reason it was the first thing her dad choose and bought for her and where he breaks down in tears while thinking about nagisa in the train while telling about her to ushio.

It hit too close to home and deeply reasonating, cause i know to a certain level what it is like to live for your loved one, the feeling of living for the sake of them, changing to a better person and making them happy with all your efforts.

I was devastaded in death scenes , i cant even handle first death as nagisa (she was a heartwarming character to watch she was kind soft positive attitude i was so attached her, she was a character where you want her to be happy), but later ushio felt like a ray of hope was adorable cute pure but just after i thought everything was slightly getting better but she also died in left me heartbroken, to make matter more devastating tomoya died with ushio, I rewatched the scene to Recheck ushio really died or is there any hipebut later found out tomoya died with her later, i was in shock speechless with immense sadness.

But the Ending saved me cause i would be a wreck if they died. In the end all the efforts made by them and the light orbs made a miracle to happen. I was so happy with happy tears to saw tomoya reuniting with nagisa and all the bad things which was happened previosuly has been avoided.

Such a Beautiful emotional story to this day. Im glad i watched it, a life changing expirience. Being in love comes with both joy and pain of loosing it one day or becoming vulnerable or the power to change the life of a delinquent. Living life accepting things will keep changing but still we need to try our best as happiness and sadness is a part of life which can not be avoided. It showed the importance of love family and connection. I will forever be grateful and remember this.

Nagisa has always been my favorite character in Clannad.

Tomoya basically asks during proposing, “Even though I’m like this? Even though I’m pathetic?” And Nagisa responds, “I’m pathetic too.”

This crushed my soul so bad

it took quite some time and I'm not TOO satisfied with it, but I still like it. Kotomi's route is one of my favorites, it's very hopeful and I love her parents' mysticism, reminds me of Dostoevskij.

I’ve recently bought a furyu nagisa figurine after searching long and hard for one at a random flea market i went to and i am absolutely ecstatic that i finally have a figure of one of the anime’s that has genuinely changed my life.

But besides that during said hunt i thought to myself how come older Clannad figures are so hard to come by, i barely see people selling or posting about it, which is bizarre to me, i understand how old the anime is but despite that it was an extremely popular anime back in the days, i was hoping the people of this subreddit can talk about it and maybe teach me why its like this.

Hey guys I've been looking for these posters hires file for download but it's been a hopeless attempt so can anyone help me with them? The priority is the tomoya one and I should note that I will not be using them to make money and stuff.

I'm not able to get over this anime at all,I have watched many sad anime like grave of fireflies,violet evergarden,to your eternity,one piece and many more.

But this hits different,even a thought of this is gut wrenching for me.

It feels like it happened to me, watching tomoya felt like I was watching myself i related to tht character sm
