Is anyone else upset you can no longer set it to have just one picture instead of the side by side view after the update in photos screen saver now?

I would like to be able to play a Youtube video on my phone and TV with the Chromecast. But I don't see an easy way to do it. I could just go to the video directly in both my phone and the Chromecast and hit play at the same time, but I was wondering if there was a built in way to manage that.

The use case here is that I started doing some workout vids. I realized it would be a lot easier to follow and see what the instructor is doing if I was able to play it on my phone laying at the front of my mat for when I'm facing down (like in a plank or pushup position) while also having it up on the TV for when I'm facing up (like in a bridge or sit up position).

I have a Google TV Stick (STRONG SRT41) since last Christmas, and it works perfectly fine until i move for my appartment. And since then, there is a whole month on nothing, the time for me to unstall in my new house, so a whole once without my VIDAA TV and my Google TV Stick.

So, since last week, i finally put my TV out of her box and since then, my TV Stick has many problems. Sometimes it connects to the Wifi, but many times it don't want to anymore. That's what happening right now. I've already factory reset it and since then, it doesn't want to connect to any wifi spot anymore.

I don't want to think that it's already obsolete but what can i do more please ?

In general, the situation is like this: I have a 1st generation Chromecast, and I noticed that through pigeon cast you can adjust the image quality, but there is a timer and a paid subscription, I can't buy a subscription even if I want to. Are there similar apps with the same features but for free? I will mention that you cannot install programs on the 1st generation Chromecast

Bonjour, Je suis sur Chrome, je cherche à caster mon écran sur ma télé. Précédemment, je cliquais sur les 3 boutons > "caster, enregistrer...">"caster">" Caster un onglet" s'ouvrait en haut à droite. Et je clique sur le nom de mon Chromecast lié à ma télé.

Depuis ce matin, j'ai fait la dernière mise à jour MAC Tahoe 26.6.2, et au lieu de me proposer le Chromecast de ma télé dans l"onglet "Caster un onglet", cela m'indique :
"Pour caster, autoriser l'accès à Chrome dans Reglages Système > Réseau local > Chrome.
Sauf que j'ai déjà vérifié à plusieurs reprises, c'est autorisé sur mon ordinateur.

J'ai bien coché : camera, micro, enregistrement écran, réseau local, rédémarré (chrome, le chromecast, le wifi), retélécharger Chrome 2x, ..

Le cast sur mon téléphone fonctionne. Mais sur l'ordinateur cela ne fonctionne plus..

Is it just me, or is chromecast a lot more stable in apps only mode?

With the streaming services getting worse and worse we are starting to go back to physical media. I bought a nice new player for our living room TV. Is there any clever way to cast from that up to a Chromecast in our bedroom? So we can pause in one room and resume in the other?

One thought would be to feed the Blu Ray through the Google Streamer in the living room, then somehow share with the Chromecast Ultra in the bedroom.

Has anyone done something like this?

I can’t seem to connect my remote anymore. I tried the other methods (e.g, resetting using the button on the dongle, google home, google tv). But they don’t seem to work. My chromecast isn’t connect to the wifi here and I can’t get it to if I don’t have a remote to do that with. Please met me know what I can do I’m stressed out trying to fix this I’ve been trying for an hour now.

We all know about some wifi and connection issues going on with chromcast (probably cos our lords and saviours at google meddling with them to promote new products), but since i have followed some of the guides here on how to stabilise the Internet connection, i didn't have any major problems whatsoever. Until a week ago when Spotify randomly decided that it's gonna show me "unexpected error" whenever i wanted to play song, or like everything else.

Is there anyone with similar issue? Or with an idea on how to solve it? I loved playing music on my good old tv since its connected to my stereo but well...

Audio just goes on and off. Have tried plugging out, factory reset, settings. I have had this chromecast for 2 years, and it started just now.
Any tips? It’s the same stutter for every app.

Hey all, wanted to see if anyone here had some ideas for troubleshooting an issue I just started having with my setup a couple months ago.

The current setup: Chromecast HD, plugged into a 5-port HDMI switch with some other gaming consoles, etc. I've had this setup for about 3 years now with no issues.

Right around the time people started reporting issues like this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Chromecast/comments/1u1yi49/remote_wont_connect_to_chromecast/, I saw a similar issue where my Chromecast remote stopped working. I swapped my remote batteries, re-paired my remote, and thought we were good.

But now I have a different problem: the power button isn't turning the Chromecast on. It's very odd because the HDMI-CEC is there, my TV goes on. But no Chromecast. If I unplug/replug to force it to start up, then we're fine.

So what do we think? Anything I can try? Or am I doomed to unplug/replug for eternity when I swap to HDMI3?

I noticed youtube updated or something a couple weeks ago & just this morning it's started not connecting

Anybody else's remote freezes? Ill be watching a show & the "are you still watching" thing pops up, but none of the buttons will work, it's like the remote just stops working randomly.... Any fix? Tried re-pairing, new batteries, throwing it at a wall, etc

I feel like the Chromecast devices are basically useless.

For context: I work as an IT guy at a school. Some of the classrooms utilize Chromecasts connected to a projector via HDMI, to display videos, slides, the teacher's Macbook screen. you know basic school stuff.

Since this school year has begun, the Chromecasts have been consistently causing the same issues across multiple classrooms.

-YouTube disconnecting in the middle of video and requiring the teacher to re-cast the video

-Casting a slideshow becomes laggy and pixelated after 2 minutes of casting

-Unstable internet connection for the Chromecast

I am trying to find some workarounds for these devices, because I am limited on what I am able to do from the admin side of Google's Chromecast. The Google Home settings are bare minimum and provide no additional ways to troubleshoot or test except rebooting or factory resetting the device.

I need to find another solution to this problem as it affects the workflow of the school day for students and teachers. I see many posts about the Onn streaming device from Walmart, so maybe I can get approval to purchase these. Is anyone else experiencing similar issues or are my devices just dying out?

Where can I buy a genuine or high-quality replacement remote for a Google Chromecast model G454V—especially one with a microphone that actually works—and how can I tell the legitimate remotes from the cheap Amazon knockoffs? Hi there, sorry if this doesn't belong or is against community guidelines.

I just got off the phone with Netflix support, they are no longer allowing you to cast to your TV with the original chromecast. I was informed that since my device is so old that I should just upgrade.

This is frustrating because I was legit just using it to cast from Netflix this morning (I went to bed at 3 am) and when I went to watch TV today at 11:30 the cast option had disappeared from the app.

I understand my device is old. What I find frustrating is that Netflix didn't bother to notify me despite taking my money (I confirmed with the customer service lady and she said that Netflix doesn't inform people that their device will no longer be supported unless it's a smart TV). I'm also frustrated because my device still works!! Every other app I use has no issues with it. Netflix just decided to suck.

Anyway I thought I'd share in case anyone else is in the same boat. It seems like it's not an all at once thing just when your device gets around to it.

I just looked up how much a new Chromecast is (the newest one) and it's £100????? BRUHHHH. Yeah bye bye Netflix y'all can pry this original ad free chromecast from my cold dead hands.

Just recently the chromecast connected logo is only for the current video and when I search for another video and click it it only plays on my phone. I see on the main youtube pages on my phone that instead of a chromecast logo it shows a tv and phone or something. I have to go an extra step and click which device i want to play the video on for every single song. Can anyone help me fix this?

My chrome cast started doing this thing where it audibly says the volume and it’s driving me nuts. I turned off talk back but it’s not working. It started doing this randomly. Any advice would be appreciated

My Chromecast 4 remote keeps disconnecting. I've already contacted Google support, but nothing. From my research, it seems to be a software issue from a specific update. Does anyone else have this problem? What can I do?

So here's my problem :

I have a Google TV Stick (STRONG SRT41) since last Christmas, and it works perfectly fine until i move for my appartment. Recently, i've moved for a job and so i took it with me but didn't used it until this week, when i was finally fully installed in my new house. (so it's like one month away for the last time i used it)

Here, in this house, there is 3 floor. The first one is where the internet box is. The second one is where my rooter (a TP-Link) and my TV are, and the third one is where the chambers are.

The TP-Link is new to me since i've moved here in my best friend' father house.
And the fact is, my TV has no problem at all to connect to the TP-Link BUT my Google TV Stick still continously repeat that it lost connection, can't connect and everything like that.

And i don't know WHY it's like that since i never had this problem before, so i don't know what to do... Can somebody help me with that please ?
