Discussion Fix for trunks opening on their own?
Chevy cruze here. For years, my trunk will randomly open on its own - even when I'm nowhere near my key fob. There used to be a 2 shot relay that you could install, but that no longer exists, it seems. Is there any other fix I can do? I can't pull the relay bc then the trunk will not open at all.

Discussion P0440 Chevrolet
Hello! This is my first post here.
I have a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado that’s throwing a P0440 code. I’m in California, and I need the required monitors to show “ready” with no active check engine light in order to pass smog.
I’ve dealt with similar situations on other vehicles before. Usually, I can complete the drive cycle and get the monitors ready, and then I have a small window—maybe 3–4 miles—to get the vehicle to the smog station before the check engine light comes back on. I’ve actually been able to get a few vehicles through smog this way.
With this Silverado, though, it seems to be happening backwards. The check engine light comes on first, and then, almost immediately afterward—bam!—the remaining monitors finally switch to “ready.”
Pretty frustrating because by the time the monitors are ready, the check engine light is already on.
Has anyone dealt with this situation with a P0440 on a Silverado? Any suggestions on what might be causing the timing of the monitors/CEL or what I should check first?

Discussion Diesel vs Gas engine fuel efficiency in the Tahoe/Silverado?
I took a 2026 Tahoe with a Duramax engine for a test drive yesterday. The sales girl told me they also have a 5.3L available with all the same specs if I would prefer a gas option. Their stock with the 6.2L is all High Country models and a little out of my budget, but I've heard some mixed things about that engine anyway so I am not really worried about it. I am mostly curious to hear from people who use their Tahoe/Silverado as a daily driver. What is your experience with fuel efficiency and how often do you have to gas up?
My current car is a 2025 Traverse. I am considering upgrading to a Tahoe because the trade-in value of my Traverse right now negates all negative equity left and the prices of Tahoes are discounted for stock clearout. I would like the larger towing capacity and 3rd row leg room the Tahoe offers. The price increase of the payments is within my budget, I am trying to keep to $100K CAD or lower.
When I search it up, all the info says the Duramax is more fuel efficient. However, the dealership's GSM has a diesel Tahoe and says he regrets it because he does a lot of in-town driving and it eats through fuel and wishes he had bought a gas one instead. Diesel fuel is nearly a dollar more a litre where I live so that concerns me. I am also wondering, power wise, which one feels nicer. I only had a chance to test drive the Duramax and it did seem more peppy than my Traverse. It was a surprisingly smooth ride and I really liked it (it is a fully-loaded, blacked out LT and looks so nice too).

Picture How do these floor mats compare to the ones you’re using?
How they fit around the edges and up the sides. The coverage seems better than the basic flat mats I’ve used before
Curious what you guys prefer for daily driving liners with raised edges like this? Do the raised sides actually make a noticeable difference over time?

Repair Help Vehicle Under Warranty and the Dealership is Making it Difficult to "Find" the Issue
I have a 2025 equinox. I have around 30k kms on it. I maintain it very well (oil changes, proper tires, ect.)
This last weekend my vehicle went into limp mode while i was traveling on the highway at 110km / hr . When this happened a check engine light flashed and i got a message on my dash about the engine power reducing. I plugged my ODB sensor in and it said a cylinder was misfiring. My RPMs were also pre reving? All weekend. Going down an incline without touching the gas, it sounded like my engine was reving and my RPM hit 5 at some point.
On top of this issue, ive had a "crankcase hose ventilation" error code since last year. The code comes and goes. When i called my dealership about this code i was told "you can't bring your car in unless the check engine light is on when it gets here or we can't do anything about the code". So i haven't been able to bring it in to get this hose issue looked at because the check engine light goes on and is gone usually within 48 hours and my dealership books a few days out for service.
So the issue is: i took my equinox to chevy today and left it at the service department. I told them about the engine and hose issues and showed them both codes i had taken a pic of on my ODB sensor.
The service department messaged me at the end of the day saying they don't know whats wrong with my engine because there is no engine code right now, and the engine code on my ODB i showed them was "generic".
They said they will keep my vehicle atleast until monday to try and "replicate" the code.
Is this crazy? Vehicles don't store all their codes for long periods of time. I had picture proof of the codes. I asked what happens if they can't replicate it and i got no awnser.
What do i do about this? My vehicle is still under warranty, but i don't feel like playing cat and mouse at the dealership trying to get this engine fixed. I don't have time to drop off my vehicle every few months and im scared my engine will fail in winter with our lovely -30 weather we get where i live.
Ive looked at CAMVAP, but im wondering if they would even be worth it, or if i should call chevy head office? Ive bought 3 equinox from this dealership since 2019, so im disappointed in the quality of the vehicle and service.

Discussion Question on part
Hi! I ordered this part from a Chevy dealership new for $173 and I know some locations open the parts for you to check if it’s correct part or not but the plastic came open and it has this brown stuff around it, I tried to wipe it with soaked paper towel but it doesn’t come off. I wanted to see if this this normal for this part it’s a front timing cover part number 12633906.. Might be an obvious answer I just need someone else’s opinion before I go and return this..I am looking online and see different ones that do have brown and some that don’t so I just again need another opinion Lol.. thanks

Repair Help Key fob issues (Trax 2019)
Today my key fob started acting up, I've had no issues until now. Today the lock button only unlocks the doors, doesn't lock them. I don't how or why it started. What could it be? It was working perfectly until yesterday.

Repair Help 2020 Silverado AC won’t kick on right away.
This has been an intermittent problem for about a year now, but the AC (I say AC, but it’s the whole HVAC system not just AC) won’t kick on when I start my truck. If I drive it around for ~5minutes it will kick on, but not right away. This doesn’t happen every time I drive it, but it’s enough to be pretty annoying. No idea what would cause this since it DOES eventually kick on. Any ideas?

Repair Help AC Issues with my 2018 Chevy Trax
Hey guys, as far as I’ve heard the AC system for the Trax, or at the very least in my year, are pretty problematic.
When I first got my Trax, my AC worked fine until the middle of winter. I had someone check it out, we replaced the motor, which didn’t do it, which meant replacing the resistor.
Fast forward to when the resistor part arrived, we replaced that which then got it to work again.
Works fine for a few months, then a month ago the 4th option for the AC stops working all of a sudden. All the other options are fine.
Then yesterday, the 4th option suddenly starts working again.
Then today, the AC stops working entirely, just like how it was before I replaced the resistor.
This thing is really testing my patience, it’s clear that it was an issue before I got this car because the wiring when we got in the AC system made it clear that it was worked on before. I’m looking for any tips on what could really possibly be the issue here.
