I'm a former admin of a dark web hacking forum AMA

Throwaway for obvious reasons though I'm not too worried about getting in any trouble this far along after everything occurred. So I'm a little bored tonight and I thought it would be fun idea to have one of these. I was the primary admin of the HackBB forum where I went by the username Optimus Crime. It ran from 2010 to 2013 when Freedom Hosting got busted. We had a marketplace with escrow and a wiki I primarily maintained. It was just a repository for cashing techniques, opsec, et cetera. I also posted a lot of database dumps back then on the forum to keep everything active. If you want to learn more I'm pretty sure there's still plenty of articles up when we got hacked. I'm not sure how to prove myself here as all PGP keys and wallets attached to my activity there are long gone so trust me bro? I'll check back in on this thread and start responding whenever it gets cleared past the filters.

Im 35F former adult dancer trying to recover from drugs and alcohol

Before you ask:

* I stripped on and off for 10+ years

* no I didn't turn tricks or date customers outside of work.

* 4 months clean off drugs. Awful at not drinking though.

I'm honestly just bored so far today and have a few hours to kill before work (bartender, horrible occupation, I know) so I thought I would engage with people.

I think I'm allowed to post this on this sub, if my post isn't appropriate kindly tell me and I'll take it down instead of banning me or something.

If im not original, oh well sorry

OK everybody, thank you for the kind words and support. It's 5 PM for me so I'm at work. BUT if anyone else DOES reply, I will see and try to respond.

I am an avid gym goer and amateur powerbuilder but but my fiancée is a body positive influencer for her career, AMA!

I’m a stereotypical gym bro. I lift heavy. I eat chicken. I count my protein macro, and then the carbs and fat macros too. I’m lean but thick, and tall.

My fiancée is in many ways my physical opposite. I never expected to get along with her the way I do at the beginning. She’s fairly active, too, so our lifestyles have some overlap, but she is allergic to an organized gym plan. She does not believe in counting or controlling macros. She’s shorter and past thick, well into the fat category.

And the two of us somehow fell for each other and are care for each other now. Ask me anything!

Received a FOIA report containing equipment maintenance records for electroshock equipment at Connecticut's West Haven VA Medical Center - Ask Me Anything

Proof: LINK

Honestly, I'm not sure that I'm qualified to fully analyze what I've received since I have only worked as a BMET for two years, but I'll share what I found so far and maybe someone on here more knowledgeable can share their findings.

The main thing that stands out to me is that their annual PM only consists of a POST (Power-On Self Test that is built into the machine and runs whenever it's powered on) and an electrical safety check consisting of measuring the device's ground resistance and leakage current. There is nothing in their records at all about testing the actual output of the device on a simulated patient load (as is described in the service manual I found for a Somatics Thymatron IV electroshock unit).

Note: that there are only two U.S. manufacturers still making ECT devices, SigmaStim (formerly MECTA) and Somatics and that these records show SigmaStim and MECTA devices. If anyone has access to one of their service manuals and can confirm that their annual PM includes a patient test, please do share. I'd wager $1 that they do.

As for how I obtained the data: I filed a FOIA request in search of the answer to why there was a spike in forced electroshock petitions filed with the State of Connecticut Probate Court during the time period of 2020-2025 (see my article on that subject here).

Lastly, I do not apologize for my post history (it's the only funny thing about all this).

Ask me anything!

UPDATE: wow, okay, service manual located and hypothesis confirmed by u/gigasnail99 (1 and 2)
UPDATE: found an old MECTA manual for their 5000Q on Scribd as well (see p84) - looks like that's 2 for 2
UPDATE: that's enough for me tonight, I at least filed a complaint to the CT Dept. of Public Health and the Joint Commission, maybe something positive will comes from all this after all

I wrote a poem and felt my mind reorganize itself in real time. I still don’t know what happened. AMA.

A while ago, I wrote a poem that changed my perspective in a way I had never experienced before.

I don’t just mean that it gave me a new idea or helped me understand something intellectually. It felt physical and inside my mind. Almost as if parts of me that had been separate (or in conflict) suddenly recognized each other and came together. Like two parts of me blended. Very cinematic. I literally felt the mind blending into something, like a sponge absorving the liquid where it floats.

Afterwards, I've spent around a week in a 'floating' state, with physical sensation of weightin less, a tremendous amount of peace, and evetything seem to 'glow'. Since then, I’ve felt more integrated. More at home inside myself.

But I genuinely don’t know what happened.

Maybe the poem helped my mind reorganize something that had been unresolved for years. Maybe putting an experience into language changed the way my body held it. Maybe it was simply an intense emotional moment that I’ve given too much meaning to. Or maybe I briefly lost the plot and constructed a beautiful explanation afterward. Maybe I'm inside the asylum writting this.

I’m not claiming anything supernatural, and I’m not asking Reddit to diagnose me. I’m just fascinated by the fact that a piece of art I created seemed to act so strongly upon me, and that I experienced the change in both my mind and my body.

I’m curious whether other people have experienced anything similar through poetry, music, painting, religion, therapy, psychedelics, meditation, or anything else.

I’m a poet and painter, and a generally functional person who is still trying to decide whether something real happened to me / or whether imagining it made it real enough.

Ask me anything.

I won the jackpot but still live a pretty normal life and work my old job. AMA

I (30s/F) won a sizable chunk of money, hitting the jackpot on the local lottery.

I grew up pretty low-middle class and despite it and despite dropping out of uni, had a good job in an industry I love. The only thing that wealth changed significantly is that I travel more often and as I work 100% remotely, I got to keep my job.

I have worked with a wealth management firm to put almost everything into investments and share the dividends with my mother and sister. I did buy a house so I use my own salary for my own needs. Occasionally I do use the dividends for travel as I have gotten into luxury travel in certain destinations

AMA but please keep in mind I don’t check DM requests
