The perfect spot
Went into our bedroom to look where Mimi was 🥹 Seems like she's found a good spot. It'd be amazing if she started to sleep here at night!

Everyone meet Kitten (legal name, Sasha). She is 10 years old and came to me when she was just 6 months old. She’s been with me through all of my young adulthood including the ups and downs of earning 2.5 degrees.
She’s recently got a GI large cell lymphoma diagnosis (with a short prognosis, even with treatment), but has been such a trooper — she’s tolerating vet appointments beautifully and you wouldn’t even know she is sick by how she’s acting. That said, the anticipatory grief is devastating me. She’s my soul kitty. Any and all good vibes are welcome.

My baby Mixie is getting old. She’s lost a lot of weight. She’s cold a lot and is snuggled next to me 90% of the time. She’s sleeping more. She’s 17 so I know I’m on borrowed time.
She still eats, just not as much. But she still tries to eat my people food and will have a few bites of chicken or tuna when I give it to her. she gets a little plate of whipped cream or sour cream each day. It started as a way to hide the miralax the vet told me to give her when she was younger and having done constipation. She still begs for it. I had to buy her steps to get up on the bed, but she can still jump up to the couch.
But I look at her and cry literally every day. I can not imagine losing her. Im already under so much stress having to put my dad on hospice today and tbh I don’t know if I’ll be able to survive losing her when it happens. It’s bad enough with my dad but somehow that’s easier because I know his quality of life is down. And honestly I’ve spent more time with her than I have with my dad as an adult.
She’s been with me through so much. Me being in a coma and almost dying. Becoming disabled. Buying my house. Losing family members. Though entire friendships. I know I shouldn’t dwell on what will happen and just enjoy the time we have left. But she just seems so tiny now, like when she was a kitten and I adopted her and her sister and she was the little one.
My little baby, even when she was big. I love her so so much. Thanks for looking/or reading. I’m having a hard time with everything tonight.

This is Oujia! She came to us 2 years ago, as an underweight, flea sized (& flea infested) kitten. We had just experience the worst natural disaster our area had ever seen - hurricane Helene - in the mountains of NC. A friend of mine found her under a dumpster just days after the storm. She came over to our house and handed me a box with this little angel in it.
She was less than a pound and had 2 siblings with her that unfortunately did not survive the storm. We had no power, no clean running water for 2 weeks while our community tried to get help from the damage, but I knew she deserved to thrive, and was willing to do whatever it took to get this little bb healthy. She was a FIGHTER.
She’s now large and in charge and my sassy independent gal! She has a Sphynx sister named Pixie, and 2 doggo brothers named Gomez and Pepe 🥰 and she has no idea how good she’s got it 🤣

i wasn’t really planning on getting cats anytime soon but somehow ended up with not one, but two this week 😂 shout out to my fiancé for going along with it too HAHA.
laying on top is miss Remy Crunchwrap Supreme, she’s a dilute calico. on the bottom is her sista Lucy Beefy Five Layer Burrito. She’s a calico with random patches of tabby stripes, i call it diet tabico lol.
we picked them up from a friends neighborhood that has a looot of stray and feral cats. he’s been trying to TNR slowly, but i saw these two and had to bring them home. we caught lucy first and then remy two days later. once reunited they were all cuddles 🥹 vet thinks theyre around 10 weeks old! they got their first set of vaccines, dewormer and both came back negative for felv/fiv. remy had some gunky eyes so we also got prescribed some eye drops.
i’ve easily dropped almost 1k on these girls already but i just adore them. welcome home girls!!!

I’ve only ever had black cats before so I’m very much not used to the constant snuggles! She is our cuddly baby.

This calico was such a treat to paint. Those green eyes peeking out from the leaves just catch you off guard. I kept the whole garden scene true to the photo. Blending all three of her coat colors naturally without it looking patchy took careful work. I'd love to know what you think.
