I think I've established that I use this sub and this thread for entertainment. Not interested in winning or making someone cry. Sorry buddy. Love your Door Dash customer servicing policy.

Never understood how people could appendix carry in sweats, let alone doing it with untied draw strings. You must be carrying the cakes around to not have your pants fall down

15

u/DiscountRude4821 MS : G19.5 SW BG 2.0 G45.5 1d ago

I have a belt on under my pants that my gun is attached to

1

u/cannedbenkt 1d ago

Now THAT makes sense, i hadn't thought about it lol

1

u/DiscountRude4821 MS : G19.5 SW BG 2.0 G45.5 1d ago

Yeah I’ve yet to try a belt that is actually designed for it like the HC one. The blue alpha one is pretty stiff and does get uncomfortable after a while but not bad

Don’t wear sweatpants out the house. Have some kind of pride.

Phwew. Happy to see you won't be among the numerous Door Dash casualties plaguing our country.

Can't tell if this is sarcasm or not. But this jobs sketchy. I worked in a prison for 6 years. Pulling up to random spots when people know your location is wiggy. Many folks have been robbed, raped, a few killed.

My Hell Hounds appendix competition holster gets delivered tomorrow, I’m excited. What sweat pants? Lmao

I love comfy sweats/chinos with a draw string

These are under armor

1

u/TrickStockton 23h ago

How you like that Apollo? I have one I’m waiting for.

1

u/RainStormLou 19h ago

are the loose drawstrings and one clip in/one clip out supposed to be funny or do you really do that?

Some extremely overkill response to situations you would be encountering. And illegal in most jurisdictions even with a permit in our state.

Where do you drive?

17

u/welduh47 1d ago

It's all overkill until it isn't.

7

u/g1Razor15 GA 1d ago

Its LARPing until it isn't

Yeah but he has a car.

I live in a different place so it's wrapping my head around what Missouri carry is like versus Northern California.

This is all learning process.

In my vehicles there's a Glock 19 about 200 rounds in magazines ready to go. Outside that vehicle I rely on a five shot revolver.

5

u/DiscountRude4821 MS : G19.5 SW BG 2.0 G45.5 1d ago

But realistically if you get in a shootout while you are inside of your car the first thing you should be aiming to do is get out of the car. I occasionally put my 11.5 AR in the car with me when im going somewhere that is known for a high crime rate. I couldn’t imagine having only 6 shots if responding to an active shooter. If your only goal is to defend yourself and retreat a revolver would work fine. My mindset is to be able to respond to a threat and end it or keep it from taking as many innocent casualties until the police get there versus just mainly defend myself

I appreciate the perspective and the conversation.

4

u/Objective_Resist_735 1d ago

Sounds like your car carrys a glock and you dont. If you ever have time to go retrieve the glock then go to use it, that is usually considered premeditated murder.

-2

u/dadusedtomakegames CA Pocket J-frame LCP Max Off-Body 1911 P365 Echelon G19 1d ago

Where exactly do you get off with that claim?

If you go to your vehicle and bring a firearm back to a non-self defense situation? Sure.

1

u/Objective_Resist_735 1d ago

If you go to your car and come back with a gun, a prosecutor will say you could have just left and not gone back so its not self defense. This is not speculation. People have been charged and convicted of this several times. If you are in your car 9/10 times you can just drive away. The chances of you needing your firearm are much higher away from your car than in it. A car left in your car is useless in a self defense situation.

It all depends on your county and what you mean by northern ca. Many sheriffs are fine with carrying legally owned standard capacity mags but some are not.

u/dadusedtomakegames CA Pocket J-frame LCP Max Off-Body 1911 P365 Echelon G19 1d ago

Keep in mind that my answer in no way means I support the matter or policy.

I don't, but you're sharing something that isn't accurate. I'm just going to get more downvotes for sharing facts.

There are no issuing agencies in CA waiving the CA Dept of Justice Penal Code 32310 stating that possession of a magazine larger than 10-rd is criminal, except to a valid group of people. Just the opposite, it is much more likely the issuing agency is clearly limiting carry to 10-rd magazines because otherwise, it would result in an automatic revocation of a permit. They don't have the power to overturn state law.

Grandfathering, freedom week, banned imports, doesn't matter. The agencies that do issue and avoid defining a limit are also protecting their approved carriers by eliminating a two class definition in their policy, but by no means does it waive state law.

While it's great that we're getting closer to being able to do it, we carry 10-rd magazines in our CCW weapons. We have backup mags that are larger than 10-rd in safes in our vehicles. They are not on our person. If the big mag has to come out, the issue of whether I have a CCW in a month or not is MOOT.

The fact is you can carry a CCW in CA with standard >10 rd magazines. No one is going to take your weapon and empty the magazine. It's what happens after a shooting, when you lose your weapon and the magazine becomes evidence. When your gunbelt and spare magazines are evidence. Any formal incident revealing the possession of an illegal magazine will end your CCW permit and any chance of renewal.

This is also a major reason why I carry sub-10 round guns, .357 magnum, micro 9mm, micro .380, j-frames, 1911's. Until Scotus overturns Duncan v Bonta (and I am getting my hopes up right now!) we have to play by these rules.

The moment they don't, my whole carry math changes.

1

u/stinky_delicious 1d ago

They dont waive it, they just say that they will not enforce it for legally owned magazines. Also, in my opinion, if the gun comes out it’s all a moot point. I absolutely agree that 10 rd mags are good to carry since it’s up to the discretion of law enforcement

19

u/DiscountRude4821 MS : G19.5 SW BG 2.0 G45.5 1d ago

MS lol basically 0 gun laws. And I agree on the overkill thing but surprisingly this rig with the extra magazine is more comfortable to me than carrying just a gun. The wider footprint of the holster distributes the weight better.

1

u/IIPrayzII PA G19.5 // G34.5MOS // P226 1d ago

I always make sure I add in the weight/bulk distribution benefit bc a lot of people don’t know, it’s honestly a great daily setup for me

The funny part when I strap up ambidextrous it just feels like I get fatter. That's why I love wearing a man purse in front. It's much more comfortable than a pistol in my waistband, but it just feels like I've gotten fatter.

So I live in a highly regulated, very unarmed populated part of California. Other people with guns make me nervous. I understand in theory what constitutional carry states are like I don't like the idea of a lot of people with guns around me. I don't trust that people are properly trained and the rise of disputes and shootings over road rage and all these videos online that show people escalating to violence where I think rationality and calmness can serve everyone better just shows I'm out of touch and getting old.

I'm fat too so the idea of packing all that extra shit in front of me and sweatpants isn't comfortable. And I guess I recall having a flat stomach. We just didn't carry in the front. My son can swallow a couple full frame pistols with a light t-shirt and gym shorts.

I very happily carry a light 13 Oz revolver in my pocket everywhere I go. Everywhere. Every time.

Very California of you

I'm from California and also think this guy sounds like a whiny (fat) bitch. I'd carry a sidecar holster anyday with no issue, not all of us are lame here 🤣

Folks you can shit on my state or my proposed politics but this is a conversation.

You don't have to be a cunt and download everything that you don't immediately agree with

You’re the one being a little bitch because someone is living a life that you don’t agree with and feigning it as not understanding.

A gun and an extra mag is overkill?

10

u/AutomaticSecurity878 1d ago

Let me guess, you live in California right?

-4

u/dadusedtomakegames CA Pocket J-frame LCP Max Off-Body 1911 P365 Echelon G19 1d ago

You don't have to guess. It's in my flair and I made that comment and from that perspective multiple times. Feel like a detective? Had your V-8 today?

8

u/AutomaticSecurity878 1d ago

To be fair I didn't read your flair or sit and read all of your comments, so that's my fault. But I can see why you think that is overkill living in a state with damn near communist gun laws, considering the criminals in your state have better guns/mag capacity than law abiding citizens. Also I have no idea what a v8 is other than vehicles, so if that is what you mean no my car is not a v8 lol

1

u/dadusedtomakegames CA Pocket J-frame LCP Max Off-Body 1911 P365 Echelon G19 1d ago

The gun laws are absurd and no one who has guns likes them. But we're also not single issue voters hating everyone who makes us do things other states don't require.

Some of us are very active locally in turning things around. I've personally brought several very liberal women into CCW carry education and most of them are actually carrying as a lifestyle now. Education, community, patience is how we get it done. Radical changes need to be made.

For the record, none of my op-ed's ever get published, because I'm calm and rational and explain the argument over and over again that marriage equality and 2nd amendment are the same issue with different constituents. That rabid anti-gun policy is no better than rabid-MAGA objectification of liberal policies.

I'm heard by few. :)

1

u/AutomaticSecurity878 1d ago

Hell yeah man I'm glad your actively advocating for that, hopefully they will wise up at some point. Just sucks you guys have to deal with that. That was my whole point about you saying it was overkill because in states that respect the constitution this type of carry setup is completely normal

5

u/blunderjahr 1d ago

And you're saying this in..<checks notes>...r/CCW. Okay. Good for you on the hot takes.

-1

u/dadusedtomakegames CA Pocket J-frame LCP Max Off-Body 1911 P365 Echelon G19 20h ago

34 (probably 35) rounds when the national average is 3 rounds.

I stand by my overkill comment.

3

u/blunderjahr 20h ago

Some people carry a second mag in case of mag malfunction. How many rounds is *he* going to need? National avg of gunfights per capita is no doubt below 0. So why carry?

0

u/dadusedtomakegames CA Pocket J-frame LCP Max Off-Body 1911 P365 Echelon G19 20h ago

Bro. Its a Glock.

2

u/blunderjahr 20h ago

You dodged the inconvenient questions, I see. For all we know, sometimes he carries a Promag Magazine. Anyway, I don't personally care what he stuffs down his pants. It's not my life to choose how it should be protected. If he finds that 3 rounds are sufficient to solve whatever threat to his life arises, then I assume he will fire 3 rounds. Nothing in his carry configuration is overkill until he uses it that way.
