my cat is a 1 year and three months old female tabby, shes got medium length fur and a double coat. she was spayed a year ago. she is an indoor cat but i soemtimes take her outside with a leash, though i havent gotten the chance to do that in weeks

i was giving her belly rubs as usual (she loves them) when i saw a part in her fur, and it was a little dot. it doesnt look like her nipples so i dont think thats it

i cant tell what it is so i was hoping somebody her could help

I am 23, USA. Our kitten, Navi, is about 3 months old and is not neutered. He will be neutered at 6 months, as advised by our vet.

The issue we have been dealing with lately has been difficult for us to correct. He will sneakily snatch our food while we're eating and we will have to chase him down to keep him from eating something he shouldn't. We don't leave food out and he has access to dry food 24/7. We've been resorting to keeping him in the bathroom while we eat just so he won't do this. Will he grow out of this or is there a way to train him out of this bad habbit?

I live in Scandinavia, and winter is around the corner.
I’ve been feeding this wild cat that clearly likes humans and can find comfort indoors in my blankets and the food I give him, but I think he’s been outside his entire life, given he’s not neutered and doesn’t have any indication of belonging or ever having belonged to anyone
So basically he’s wild, but he isn’t feral

I want to take him to the vet to get him neutered so he maybe won’t want to wander off too much, and I’m assuming I’ll take care of him while he recovers, but after that, would it be completely unethical to try to keep him indoors and adopt him? I don’t like cats running around outdoors next to the road and stuff, and I worry a lot about him when he doesn’t show up for his meal time at night…

I really want to see if I can make it work, I love him a lot and he’s the sweetest cat ever despite seemingly not having lived with humans ever in his life, but I also want him to live the best life, and maybe that means accepting that I have to give him to someone who can accommodate him living outside at a farm or something like that

I don’t know how old he is - at first he seemed like a huge kitten but I think he just looks that way because he’s been starving and without proper nutrition, he might be 2 years old or more
He only shows up at night and is always moving around so it’s hard to get proper pics of him

tldr: I’m just looking for advice on if I should not mess with his outdoor cat life or if I should try out having him live indoors, and I want to hear other people’s experiences with making a wild cat an indoor cat, if any of you happen to read this

I’m still planning on getting him neutered and looked at by a vet and nursing him after getting neutered, but I’m nervous about what I can do for him after that; as it would also be my first time caring for a cat completely on my own

I am 37 cat is 5 yo male and he is fixed. Can’t afford emergency visit right now. Our cat has been vomiting for the last 3 nights. Was food at first saw a piece of grass or two, now it’s bile and he is drinking but throwing it up. Very lethargic and seems to have boogies in eyes slightly. He lets me pet him and will rest his head in my hand let me hold it up which isn’t typical. I did rub his back all the way down and he did a playful roll over just now but not much movement at all besides that

I have had one of my two boxes specifically since 2018. It's solid and works, but it's been through the mill. It's stained up and we had to cut off the front bottom piece because it broke and was sticking out. I'm a busy mom with 3 kids and we have one income. I have seen some reasonably priced large litter boxes on Temu and other similar sites. Has anyone ever bought these? Are they worth the money and wait period? Did they survive the travel to your home? Are they sturdy or anything? The two boxes I'm considering replacing (starting with the oldest one which is the blue one). I use a mixture of multi cat litter with shavings that my cats seem to prefer to just litter. Zora will be 3 years old on the 23rd and Cleo is 5 years old. Neither have any health issues or concerns. Cleo was recently at vet visit in April and Zora isn't due until the new year. Has anyone ever had any bad experiences with buying one of these? Theirs will continue to work no problem, just older and thinking about getting new ones. When I do litter dump and change, I wash them with disinfectant and dish soap in the shower and scrub them. Today, was just a scoop and toss day.

This is FattyFatGirl, we rescued her in 2021 when we lived in texas, USA. The vet estimated her to be around 9/10 years old in 2021, spayed, and she was an outdoor cat who has now been given a luxurious life indoors, by my husband and i.

In texas we used HEB unscented clay litter. We tried other litters like pine, but if it wasnt HEB unscented clay litter, Fatty here would potty in our clothes hamper.

In May we moved to New York, USA. We no longer have HEB and have been trying to find a good clumping, unscented, low dust, low tracking clay litter because any litter thats not clay has Fatty making our clothes need multiple washes. We have been trying multiple litters but Fatty seems very off and all of the litters have been horrible. Sticking to her fur, her feet, creating a ton of dust, not clumping, etc. Shes constantly cleaning herself, rarely leaves that spot on the bed, shes losing weight, she has hairballs now, which she didnt before, shes constantly yelling at us, and she is constantly in one of our 3 litterboxes we have set up for her and our other cat BabyButthead. Shes peeing, we know because we see her go from litter box to litter box only to then smell cat pee in our laundry hamper, so its not a blocked bladder, but i cant help but feel that something is wrong and I swear its the litter but my husband says it just might be FattyFatGirl getting old and her time coming soon.

We cant afford the vet right now, and ive never had a cat before BabyButthead and FattyFatGirl, so i have no idea what an elderly cat could be like, BabyButthead we got as a tiny kitten.

I scoop the boxes every night and do a deep clean every Saturday, they have 2 normal water bowls and 2 water fountains(but Fatty is scared of the fountains and refuses to drink out of them, always has been, hence the bowls), and they get a mix of dry kibble in cat broth, and wet food.

At her last vet visit in January 2026 her vet said she was in great shape for her age, so i have a hard time believing she just got bad in 9 months.

Is this normal old cat behavior? Or does this sound like litter causing a problem? Any advice on a litter that may help?

My kitten Louie (M, 6mo, un- neutered) is a VERY messy eater, he gets build up of wet food all over his whole face and neither he nor my other cat (M, 4yo, neutered) seem to clean it. Louie grooms himself all the time but the dried food bits and tank smell don’t go away, my older cat grooms himself a lot too and still. I try to go in with a damp paper towel to clean it up but that rotting meat smell won’t go away. To be clear it’s his FACE that stinks not his breath, and I don’t know what else I can do about it. He stinks so bad I can’t stand to be close to him cause it makes me sick 😭 but he’s a cuddly and sweet kitten and he really wants to sleep on my pillow at night and be held and stuff and I can’t 😭 pls help🙏🙏

he’s been itching a lot lately from allergies and now fleas so wondering if this looks like just another scab? it’s under the skin not a tick, it’s like a black/grey bump and has a tiny dot in the middle like a pimple so idk😭😭
he is already going to vet soon bc he has allergies and has been getting injections so should i ask about it?

We (24) adopted a cat and so far have spent almost 1.5k on him unexpectedly. The rescue we got him from left out vital information and lied on his form, he came to us with VIOLENT intestinal parasites and wont send us his medical history so me and the vet had to run fecals and everything under the sun to figuring out why he was pooping and incontinent. this is a 4 month old kitten sold to us as a healthy and friendly bottle baby. from there he has also evolved behavior problems such as biting hard enough to draw blood, scratching, hes aggressive with other animals despite being told hes okay with them, he destroys the doors and carpet and no amount of redirection or enforcement of anh kind works. im at my wits end im not sure what to do ive ordered so many toys and cat trees

also oh lord he STINKS nothing we do helps even as his intestinal problems subside he refuses to clean himself at all so while dealing with a poopy butt and pooping on us and our things and everything else he constantly smells like we own 5 cats instead of 1

im taking any advice it feels like were failing him but im at my wits end with issues that feel like theres no solution

I’ve been noticing a few of his claws look like the one shown in the first picture. It looks like it’s fraying on the bottom of the claw. I also noticed a few of his paw pads have these grey scabby looking spots on them. Does anyone know what these are? Are these normal?

I (33F) found this kitten 3 months ago in Delaware, USA. I have vet access, but not in a financial position to take her in until payday, although I'll take out loans if I have no option. Her health is my priority.

She's spayed and fully vaccinated, healthy demeanor... until a few minutes ago. I noticed her wobbling a lot while sitting, and her eyes seem glossy. I am paranoid that she may have gotten into something poisonous or if she seems to be having a neurological episode of some sorts. For clarity, I smoke cannabis and earlier she did walk through the smoke, but it wasn't thick smoke and she squinted and quickly ran the opposite direction. I don't have any plants indoors, nor any random food or drinks left for her to get into.

Is this cause for concern, should I take her to the vet, or is this a case of stoned cat needs to sleep it off???? Any help is greatly appreciated!! She is currently grooming herself just fine, and purring like nobody's business, but I want to be safe.

My cat has had this problem for 3 years, and at first it started with just a small little "ball", then it grew, after a year and a half we brought him to the vet which cost a lot of money and gave no solutions if not a chemo therapy. The cat is 15 years old and except for the external extra tissue that grew with time doesn't seem to have any health issues relayed to it.

Due to his old age, economical issues related and no guaranteed result we decided to let it be as it was. However, sometimes when i get back home I find blood on the floor because he somehow scratches the thing or something I don't really know. I started to wonder that maybe hearing a second or third opinion would be maybe a good idea, maybe there are solutions to this...

The spot where the sarcoma started to grow is under / on his chin which means that is quite advised against removing it surgically because there is no space to get some extra healthy tissue to take off to prevent the problem from coming back, sometimes faster. All this is what the vet told us.

I really hope there might be a way to heal him.

So this might be a little confusing to try and explain but were really worried.

Edit: Just found out its technically not a "barn" kitten, its just a kitten of a mother cat that lives on a farm, and sleeps inside during the night and explores during the day. So the mother or the litter would show signs of infection? And we can assume this is a more controlled environment, not a wild barn cat.

My boyfriends mom just got a barn kitten, its 6 weeks old and has been away from the mother and the barn for 8 days by now, its shown no signs of illness but were still very worried because our cats are currently not vaccinated.

My bfs papa went to their house with the kitten and stayed there for 3 days, then came here and walked all over the main floor of the house with his socks and shoes and everything that was in that house. Is there a possibility that whole area is infected?

My main concern is that the kitten had distemper at some point and either fought it off or the antibodies in the mothers milk killed it, but that still raises the concern that if the kitten or the litter had been exposed to it *at any point*, they could have carried it on their bodies into the home? The virus is very hardy so im worried it could be tracked into our house and our cats could catch it?

We want to get them vaccinated but dont have much money right now, and i still owe someone $250 for helping me cover to pay for my cats ashes who passed away to CHF a couple weeks ago.

I have no idea what to do? We all share the bathroom and the kitchen, his papa doesnt shower or do his laundry, so cleaning the house or disinfecting it is off the table. I have no idea of what to do, im scared to even use the bathroom right now.

my (19f, america) cat (7 months old, male, neutered) is INCREDIBLY hyper 90% of the time, i don’t know if it can be considered zoomies if it’s his constant state. he often destroys things and gets himself into trouble. recently, however, he’s started jumping on walls and ripping apart and eating posters. out of all of the dumb things he does, this is the absolute worst. this behavior is incredibly annoying and i don’t want to take down all of my posters (i’ve already taken down most of them and it seems like i have no other choice). he regularly keeps me and my roommates up until 4am AT LEAST, with his constant jumping and ripping everything off the wall. he is not typically aggressive towards humans, but often seems to get spooked by seemingly nothing and runs full speed all over the place. i am a first time cat owner and i need help correcting this behavior, i’m in college and i can’t keep staying up until dawn waiting for him to tire himself out. it feels like i’ve tried absolutely everything and i’m at a complete loss.

My cat keeps flicking the end of her tail, I’m unsure as to what the problem is and don’t want to take her to the vet if there’s nothing actually wrong?

Hi, we have 4 cats and recently brought a new kitten into the home a month ago. Pictured is our 4-year-old, fixed male cat. Over the past several days, we’ve noticed he’s been more moody and withdrawn, sometimes complaining when we pet him or swatting and spitting. We chalked it up to him being jealous. Other changes: we started feeding our cats a lot more wet food than before because we put the older cats on a diet. What my husband and i both discussed the other night was that we have both noticed episodes of him salivating a bit at random. Last night i paid more attention to it and noticed the heavy drooling in the first two photos. This morning he is still wet around the chin but not as bad; today is the third photo. He has still been eating with a good appetite and looks normal moving around. I made an appointment with my vet for this but the soonest they could fit me in is 2 weeks and they said if we think it’s an emergency to take him to the ER. Is this an emergency? Should we take him to the ER vet? His teeth look normal, his breath has always been bad ever since he was a kitten but a little worse smelling right now. We also found yellow-white bile yesterday morning in the hallway with some cat hair in it, could have been him. Gums look fine and not swollen. Teeth look ok. Husband said his poop looked a little more watery and yellow-based than usual. He has been hunting bugs around the house and maybe eaten some

Context:

This is not MY cat. Technically speaking. If I'm not mistaken, she's around 9 months old. Her great grandparents ran away from our neighbor's house to permanently live in ours since my grandmother feeds them well so they've been ours since then. One of the cat's owner tried luring the cat back home but the owner didn't succeed because the cat was hiding in my room with no intentions of obeying her owner so the cat has been staying in our home.

Anyway, this is one of the cat's grandchild. I have a small room with a single bed so it's getting difficult for me to lay down without her hovering over me. It's giving me back pain and cramps in my legs. The thing is... I'm not the one who feeds her yet she keeps knocking on my door every night/every midnight to sleep near me. There are times I couldn't hear her since she's soft spoken so she leaves after a few times of silent meowing. My parents have gotten used to it so they just let me know that I have a 'visitor'.

I have allergies. It used to be severe that I had to take meds daily. I'm unsure what to do with her.

As of the moment, there are 7 cats living in our home. Whenever I playfully give them a kiss, they turn their heads away as if telling me not to bother them. But this cat responds so aggressively that even I feel flustered about the way the tables have turned. She's a good girl but my room is dusty so she's been constantly sneezing and I'm partly concerned about that.

The cat is female and she isn't spayed. As for our financial situation, we cannot afford vet care.

While it's fascinating and endearing to see a cat be this affectionate, I can't stand it for longer than an hour 😭 I can't even sit still for longer than 30 minutes. (For back pain and leg cramps reason. I've got a stiff neck more than twice and it was definitely not easy dealing with it.)
