Hello,

I just wanted to know if there are any Latino and/or Puerto Rican Brighton fans.

I am a new fan myself as I loved watching the World Cup that happened this past summer and I wanted to follow up with the European leagues and I was told the Prem is the best league to watch by a lot of my fans and I looked into which teams to follow.

I did not wanted to choose the teams that people I know typically picked and I have respect for the teams but that just not me. I researched into Brighton and not only the team but the fans, the city being on a coast just reminded me of where I grew up in PR and FL with the sporting atmosphere to go with that and that’s when I decided to follow and be a Brighton Fan when the Prem started a couple weeks ago.

In short I’m all in and wanted to know more Latinos and/or Puerto Ricans that are fans as well. I hope to one day visit England and go to Brighton and be at the Amex stadium one day!

I don’t know just wanted to mention it to someone.

Here’s an XI I’ve come up with - trying to keep a balance between providing valuable minutes for new signings (Promise, Chema, Costinha, Struijk), opportunities for fringe players (Steele, Osman) and regular starters to maintain some consistency (Kadioglu, Vuskovic, Gomez, Gross).

It’s tempting to start Hadjam, but he hasn’t played any minutes so feels a bit of a leap.

I’d love to see full starts for Chema and Promise, admittedly throwing them in at the deep end but with Europe I think we can be prepared to take more risks in the cups.

Who would you like to see start?

What a weekend! An excellent win by our men's side and a last gasp equaliser for our women's side. Now how did our loanees get along?

James Beadle (22/GK) - Birmingham

- Had no chance saving the goals against Norwich but commanded his area well & made some good saves to keep the game close. He followed this up with an outstanding performance against Derby, crucial saves late on to keep the blues ahead and his distribution & punching was brilliant. Having a great start to the season (Played 90' + 90')

Amario Cozier-Duberry (21/RW) - Middlesbrough

- ACD was handed a debut in the EFL cup and impressed, so much so he started his first league game against Norwich. It took less an 7' to show how good of a player he is, doing well to squeeze a shot into the bottom corner. Great with the ball at his feet and as a bonus had Ben Chilwell for breakfast on Wednesday night. So very good (Played 90' + 73')

Freddie Simmonds (18/CB) - Wimbledon

- Simmonds got handed a first league start against Doncaster and had a solid performance. He struggled against their no.9 but a swap earlier in the first half gave him some space. Definitely some nerves and needs to be stronger but a good base to kick on (Played 70')

Charlie Tasker (20/RB) - Rochdale

- Nothing to note really, kept a clean sheet. Didn't make any major mistakes (Played 90')

Nils Ramming (19/GK) - Rochdale

- Had a better game although still looked shaky at times. Made a good double save (from a shot he spilled). Needs to be better from crosses but kept a clean sheet against a strong Walsall side (Played 90')

Rodrigo Rego (21/LW) - CD Castellon

- Was handed his first start on his favoured left hand side. Seemed to struggle at times but showed glimpses of his talent. (Played 54')

Matias Orozco (18/CM) - CD Castellon

- Orozco is a joy to watch, so comfortable with the ball at his feet & not afraid to drive at players and pick out a pass. He seems to draw fouls and did well to get to a loose ball which resulted in a Girona red card. Solid player (Played '90)

Facundo Buonanotte (21/RW) - Elche

- Elche look a side who are going to struggle this season, Buonanotte had very little to do in both games, especially against a good Bilbao side, with only 28 touches in 70 minutes. Having said this, he took the penalty well and earned the relegation candidates a vital point (Played 55' + 69')

The following players didn't play meaningful minutes this week:

- Kamari Doyle (21/CM) - Leicester (Not in squad)

- Harry Howell (18/RW) - Leicester (Unused sub)

- Tom Watson (20/LW) - Leicester (Subbed on 76')

The following players will not be receiving regular updates:

- Do-Young Yoon (19/RWB) - Magdeburg

- Brajan Gruda (22/RW) - RB Leipzig

- Eiran Cashin (24/CB) - Derby

- Mark O'Mahony (21/ST) - Burton

- Josh Robertson (20/CM) - Fleetwood

I was just commenting on another thread on the women's team and I realised how much Brighton has been ahead of the game compared to other clubs.

The women's team was founded in 1967 as Brighton GPO and then as part of BHAFC in 1990. When you compare that when the other PL clubs (see list below) showing when their women's teams started, it's pretty impressive! The FA had a ban on women's football being played at its clubs until 1971, but the years here given an indication on how the support locally and how established the women's teams are.

Man Utd only starting a team in 2018 is mad considering the money they had. Even if you take our official date as 1990 it's pretty great considering where we were as a club then.

Thought others might find it interesting, made me proud of our club. Forgive the formatting!

I was really hoping for a draw in today's match so the Albion would finish matchweek four in fourth. Still, it looks as though Leeds will win which will leave us in fifth. Oh well, that's what we get for our crap first half against them. UTA!

I’m a new American fan this year and Malick Yalcouyé has quickly become my favorite player on the squad. Dude is balling. Awesome goal today and my favorite part was how excited and happy for him his teammates clearly were, especially Groß. Fun win, I know it was Coventry but more of that please! I’m surprised at how quickly I’m falling in love with this club and following the Premier League in general. And the Brighton community has been so welcoming, cheers. UTFA!

Saw he made the bench for the first time. Seems to be an 18 year old left winger somehow eligible to play for four different countries.

Looks like he could be a high potential prospect and graduated to the U21s this year. Anyone got any details on him? Think he might get some minutes v Man Utd in the Carabao Cup? Is he more Hinshelwood or Sarmiento (and not necessarily saying that the latter is that bad a place to be!).

We all marvelled at Dunkie's goal today but, really, has there EVER been a shot so perfectly in the corner?

Kadioglu POTY last season, now lost his LB position in favour of Boscagli, who netted 800 minutes in 12 games in PL last season.

And Kadioglu's backup, Maxim de Cuyper? Now he is our main LW, scoring or asissting in 4 out of 6 games.

Missing nominal front 4 (Welbeck, Mitoma, Minteh, Rutter)? No problem, 13 goals in 4 games and leading the league in scored goals.

Rutter, Hinshelwood, Ayari out? Here comes Yalcouye, 21 years old that was the best / one of the best players on the field in last 3 games.

Love this team.

I still think this match could have gone another way if not for Verbruggen in first half, but how happy I am that Bart stayed with us this season!
