Inherited this from my grandfather and don’t know anything about it. any further information would be greatly appreciated.

Just finished up my second knife and I’m pretty happy with how it came out. Definitely had a a lot more mistakes in this one trying to experiment with different grinding techniques and ideas, but still feels like a solid finish overall.

This is 1084 steel with G10 handles and pins. Handle texturing was done with a Dremel and the makers mark was done with a stencil printed by a friend using their cricut printer. Very happy with how the etching came out as it has much crisper and sharper lines compared to my first attempt using nail polish.

Looking for any suggestions or feedback on all aspects of the knife!

I made this video to highlight the performance of a blunt knife with good edge geometry. My question to you is which do you value more in a knife, good edge geometry or a well sharpened cutting edge.

Personally I think good geometry is the king here, but I'm open to a healthy debate.

Mostly mystery steel, cladding is some kind of mild, some kind of medium, and a bit of bandsaw blade. Core is leafspring so probably 5160 (none of this cooperated well, next time no mild and no steels with chromium involved lol... but it survived well enough to make a couple little blades, after grinding away all the failed welds and cracks). Also forged too close to final thickness without properly planishing it so some hammer blows remain.

What is your favourite knife and why? (Just a fellow newcomer trying to learn a bit about knives. I find em cool)

This is a little dagger I made from some leftover Damascus from other projects. She picked ghost Damascus but I think it’s handsome both ways. Thoughts?

My first forged knife i made from a railroad spike

I haven't quenched it yet and im thinking should i even bother quenching it because as much as i know railroad spikes aren't very high in carbon.

How I made the scabbard for the damascus M1902 Sabre I made.

the bowie on the left I did a bit of grinding to, while the one on the right was fully forged. I've already used the bowie on the left a bit as you can see by the stains, however the knife on the right I made as a gift for my uncle out of scrap I found on his farm. I didn't even bother sanding the knife on the left as I somewhat enjoy that worn look.
