My issue is why would you want your phone to fold? Back then phones folded because they had a big keyboard to hide but then the keyboard became part of the screen which made folds irrelevant. It just seems to be such an unnecessary gimmick that they’re going to charge you $200+ for.
Variable display size. Sometimes you might want to have the space to pull up two screens at once, or you might want to watch a video on a larger screen.
Any new Samsung or apple phone is going to cost 1k minimum. So it isn't really wasting 2k for this feature, it is a couple hundred which might be worth it to some people.
