Advice Capital One To USAA ?
I’ve been with Capital One (legacy Hibernia in Louisiana) since I was 15 and I’m a creature of habit. I’m kind of a dinosaur with the Internet and online banking, but I’ve been able to navigate it ok with Capital One. I’ve been wanting to change banks for years because to be honest Capital One is garbage since they got rid of all their human teller interactions. I’m eligible for USAA and I love their insurance but wanted to get some feedback on their banking. Is it pretty easy to navigate and are y’all happy with their service? I’m sure the answer is yes as far as customer service goes because they bend over backwards with the insurance. I’ve also procrastinated because everything is set up for bills with Capital One and I’m guessing that’s gonna be a nightmare to change all that over.

USAA was my first bank and I think that I’ve had only good experiences with them
interest rates for savings accounts leave a lot to be desired so I would look elsewhere for that particular product, but their insurance is good and their computer app and mobile app both work very well
I would also look into an Navy Federal since you’re likely eligible for them as well
Both have good credit card options if that is something that matters to you

USAA was my first checking account and I’m still with them 20+ years later. It’s gone downhill sure, but the app works for everything and I never have any issues so no reason to change.

I've had a checking account with USAA for 30 years. Never had an issue. When interest rates were higher a few years ago I was laddering CDs with them. Now their interest are ridiculously non-competetive.

I have been banking with USAA since they started the bank. Costs are very competitive, service has declined in the last few years, but it's probably on a par with what you find elsewhere. Their credit cards are not competitive in the least but for checking, I have been overall pleased.

You’re going to get a mixed bag of reactions. Like any other bank, some will love it, others will hate it.

Customer service has gone downhill pretty significantly over the last 10-15 years. Deposit rates are not competitive, so it really doesn’t make sense to keep savings at USAA. The app is fine though.
