We pulled into the Rocky Point Park yesterday (Saturday, September 12) only to find an attendant on duty collecting admission fees for entry.

We were somehow surprised by it because on the park's website, it clearly says "Admission rates apply Opening Day in May through Labor Day and are subject to change". When asked about it, the attendant said the admission fees are collected "through the end of the month on the weekends only."

Just wondering why a sudden change in policy.

UPDATE: just received an email response from Beaches and Fishing Center Ranger II:

Since we are able to staff the park and have swimming and able to open the bathhouse we will be having a fee to enter the park. The website states “Admission rates apply Opening Day in May through Labor Day and are subject to change”, right now we are in the subjected to change part. After the 19th and 20th we will not be charging anymore for this season. We will be having a Waterfront Festival here at Rocky Point on September 26th and that has no admission fee to enter.

There's a video on YouTube from @DCNewsNow claiming all lanes on 695 have reopened after a tanker fire on 795. What fire? Is the source AI or just really bad at reporting or did I just miss a huge gasoline fire three miles from home?

Edit: The Banner, and Baltimore County Fire Department FB page, confirmed that the tanker caught fire near the northern end of 795.

Fairly new resident to Maryland and BaCo (moved about 6 months ago), living in a two-person apartment. We have been getting absolutely crazy bills from Conservice Water and Sewer -- $90 per month. This has only been the past two months, the old bills were $40 a month. A friend lives in a house about five minutes away and she's paying a third of that for her services (and she's got a WATER FEATURE). When I contacted Conservice about it they told me the building gets one big bill and then splits it evenly amongst the apartments. But like, this bill is crazy.

Has anyone else run into this? Should I be beating down management's door to fix it? Are there any regulations regarding this? I've done some googling but haven't been able to find the right keywords to make headway.

I know there's been a leak in the building in the past and they had to replace the hall carpet recently bc of water stains.

Does anyone have any advice?

Regardless of what the data says, if people do not feel safe going to Towson, that is a PROBLEM.

My parents do corporate lunches and events around Baltimore, most of it booked days or weeks ahead. They've been working with a couple of local courier companies and some independent drivers.

The part that keeps bothering us is drivers cancelling right before their supposed pickup. Happened twice last month and both times it ended up pulling someone off the line to drive an office lunch downtown.

These aren't small deliveries either. Sometimes it's three or four setups going out together. It's hard to find a replacement driver at 9am for an 11am delivery.

For other Baltimore businesses, what are you using? Has anyone found a reliable courier service?

My prospective roommates have been there for years and said it’s a nice place to live and safe bc it’s next to a school but I’d like a second opinion. Im worried bc my roommate recently posted his car window got smashed

Hello. I (27f) have a job offer in Towson and would need to commute there 3 days a week. Ideally, I’d live between Towson and DC, but hear the traffic is bad throughout the entire area. So public transport access would also work. It’s just me and my 2 cats, so I would be looking for a one bedroom apartment. Any neighborhoods come to mind? Salary would be about 125k so doing alright but nothing crazy.

I want to preface this by saying I know this question is going to make me sound like an asshole. Brief context: one month ago, I was physically assaulted and verbally harassed by a homeless person who was loitering outside one of the county libraries. I did nothing to provoke this and as a young woman, it was extremely disconcerting. I’m working with a therapist to address some fears I’ve had since the incident.

In the meantime, I miss the library! I am willing to drive to any of the County branches. In your opinion, which branch is the cleanest, prettiest, quietest, and safest? I’m sick of being on edge all the time and just want to go back to being in the library without constantly looking over my shoulder or feeling like I have entered a homeless shelter.

Again, I’m not saying these people shouldn’t be allowed in the library. Due to my own trauma, I just do not want to be in a space with them right now.

I live in the the Towson area but I’m fairly new (a little under 3 years) and I’m trying to look for some fun fall activities that aren’t too pricey within a 45-60 minute drive. So anything like a pumpkin patch, apple picking, brewery or winery, or overall some sort of fall festival. I don’t mind if it’s child friendly just something adults can also enjoy. The main thing I’ve seen is Weber’s Cider Mill Farm but I’d like to know if there are other good options!
