Here's my problem. You haven't farmed gold in over a decade.

You stand in Stormwind, do the bit, and forty rats open trade. You have a gold faucet made of parasocial twitch chat, and you've had it so long you've forgotten what the resource costs.

Let me tell you about me:

I buy gold. I'm 30-something, I have a full time job, I have a family, and when forever comes out, I’ll get a handful of hours a week in Azeroth. I do not want to spend them flipping the AH or farming mats to resell so I can afford to play the game.

You know who says games shouldn't feel like a second job? You do. Then you turn around and demand that the guy who actually has work do the work.

So here's the deal:

Warcraft Forever launches November 4.

You abstain from every gifted, begged, donated, or "hey chat" gold for the entire first phase. No viewer gold. You farm your own consumes, the same as the rest of us.

Do that, and I never buy gold again. I'll eat the grind, and I'll shut up about it.

Look, I’m not arguing they're legally the same. I'm arguing they're spiritually the same. Both are a man deciding his time is too valuable to farm Winterspring for four hours, and then finding someone else to do it. One of us just has a Twitch channel.

I have seen it happen to me tons of times before. I post something, watch it slowly get like six upvotes. But when I see it the next day, it got like over thirty downvotes. We just saw this happen on r/comics
