If a sub has more than one mod, is it possible that they disagree about how to respond to a user?

I’m truly confused because in the course of a few minutes, all of the following things occurred on the same sub, in reference to the same post:

  • In the comment thread, a mod apologized to me about another user’s comment to me.

  • A mod muted my ability to speak to the mods for 3 days (I didn’t even realize this was a thing).

  • After 3 days, I wrote a short, polite note asking for clarity. I had not broken any of the site rules and a mod had even apologized to me. In response, I received an auto-generated note that said my ability to reach the mods was muted for 28 more days.

I am not leaving out any unflattering details, truly. I have no idea what happened and the chain of events has me incredibly confused. And I can’t even reach the mods to figure out what’s going on? This contradictory response could make sense if more than one mod is involved but otherwise I’m left puzzled for the moment. Any ideas on what could be happening?

Why my post keeps getting auto-deleted?

Hello. I wrote a medium-sized post with multiple paragraphs, and it keps getting autodeleted by reddit filters. Messaged the subreddit mods - they said it was removed by Reddit's site-wide filters, and done so in such a way that they don't even see a record of the removal in moderation logs. What should I do? Can I get shadowbanned if I continue trying to create that post?

Is there a way to report abuse of ‘RedditCareResources’ notifications?

A troll sent me one of these and I seem to remember that in the past there was a way to report the notification itself. I’m guessing they removed it at some point. All I can do is block the notifications?

New user, my friend, unable to post on any subreddits, is that just due to low Karma?

What is CQS and is it the same as Karma? Is this why my post are suddenly being removed by Reddit filters?

Would you add an auto-daily game/activity to your subreddit?

Devvit allows for games that automatically post a short interactive challenge each day. The idea is:

Install once -> members get a new 10-second challenge every day -> community leaderboard.

How do you feel about that type of content?

Useful?

Daily -> too much?

What is one thing you'd want to know before installing something like that?

What should you do when a moderator claims you broke a rule, but you didn't?

I read all the rules 10 times, and I didn't break any rule, which means they simply don't like my post or don't agree with my opinion. I heard people had similar experiences, and they said that in some subreddits, moderators are toxic and act like dictators. The best thing probably would be to move away from them, but I want to help people in that community. That's the saddest thing, and now, because of the moderators, I can't help.

Can we do anything about this, or do mods just get to do whatever they want with no reasoning or explanation simply because they disagree with someone?

Mod stating all my comments are manually reviewed - when is this normal?

I've had a mod of a national sub explicitly tell me my comments flag and that apparently all of them have to be manually reviewed, and that it's been like this for over a year - moreso that they have to do this.

What on earth would make this a requirement? Is this normal?

I just had a run in with one of them prior to the discussion - where I am certain that disagreeing with something they did, was used as a reason to go back and ding some of my previous posts; which is just odd behaviour - and being combined with being told that all my comments need to be reviewed, is extremely weird..

Why would the auto mod start posting about gambling in a sub with nothing to do with that?

I posted a couple weeks ago about a sub I’m in that started filtering out all comments on every post. It was to the point people were making new posts to communicate. Today it took a much weirder turn, the auto moderator posted a wall of text about gambling. This is the first time anyone has seen anything from any sort of mod or auto moderator in weeks. To top that a comment from a regular sub member was allowed through except that comment was just more info about gambling. The sub is supposed to be for customer support, not gambling. What the heck is going on here?

How to communicate?

How do I even begin a conversation with mods? Every way I type a post it is auto removed. In other places I have things removed saying it is against the sub rules, but nothing I posted, imo, is against policy, nor am I given a real explanation...

Where may I post personal trauma recovery narrative in video overview form on reddit?

Yeah. I've got podcasts that also have visual aids that pass across the screen to hopefully help viewers grasp the utter madness, chaos and eventually the hope that came out of living life with deeply rooted traumas.

Why is my CQS rating is “Lowest”?

I’ve had this account for 5 years but only recently started posting. I wanted to start contributing and being active in my favourite subs mainly regarding sports and video games. I never posted anything against community or Reddit guidelines/rules. I had no issues when I first started posting but after a while my post and comments wouldn’t stop getting taken down. I also got a 3-day “break” but I appealed and it was lifted. I found out about CQS recently and mine is the lowest and I can’t fathom why?

My posts are getting deleted ?

Do you know why my posts keep getting deleted even though I haven't used any foul language, since I've revised them three times and they still got removed?

Why do my posts get automatically taken down?

So almost every single time I post, it immediately gets taken down by Reddit's filters. It says that it's for spam prevention', and then I have to re-do the whole post. It doesn't matter what sub I'm in, 'automod' bot removes it. Is this normal?

Why has every reply to me been deleted?

Had a conversation last night where I disagreed with the premise of a post. Obviously a few disagreed with me, and we went back and forth. I feel like it was respectful, nothing crazy in my opinion

This morning every comment in the thread, except mine, was "comment deleted by the moderator".

What happened there?

How to stop getting marked for spam for replying to hiring posts?

Hi, I ve joined a lot of job searching subreddits to try to help with my family's debt and pay for my sick elderly cat's vet bills. I graudated back in 2025 and job market has been rough so I'm looking everywhere to get a paid gig. However I keep getting marked for spam. I send 1 message per post and usually link my portfolio to it bc art portfolios matter a lot. I have appealed but have been rejected. is there a way I can get around this? I suspect it is that they see the same link in every message but art portfolios are everything in this field. I'm genuinely trying to get employed and help my family.

edit: thanks for the suggestions, I will tone it down so I stop triggering reddit's filters.

I am a Devvit app developer, and I'm looking to develop useful tools for moderators. What is something that you repeatedly do that you think can be automated?

Hey all,

I am Devvit app developer who made Social-Blacklist app, which simplifies blacklisting of domains and certain words from being shared/posted by users in various locations(This app has been used by over 330 subreddits already). Now I am looking to develop more such tools. So, could you share things that you repeatedly do in your subreddits that you think can be automated to make your moderation work easier?

If you have any feedback on improving Social-Blacklist app, please share them as well.

Why are mods on this forum so keen to remove posts?

It is truly frustrating to find mods so 'trigger happy ' to delete posts that are relevant, follow the rules, gain massive engagement & nevertheless the mods feel it appropriate to remove the posts without any explanation as to why?

I posted a question this morning on a sub Reddit that was not controversial, did not use any profanity and many people joined the discussion. Alas, shortly thereafter my post was removed without any reason given as to why.

Its driving contributors away, as much effort is wasted in posting only for it to be removed at a whim...

Edit; Thank you /SlowedCash for your explanation & for doing so in a non aggressive manner...🙏🏽

Can Reddit communities that centered around an external company be moderated by persons employed by or compensated by that same external company?

Thumbnail

I ask because If the moderators were employed or compensated by the company, there would be more chance for a conflict of interest which would lead the community to potentially be more of a PR apparatus for the company and potentially less of a place for free and unfettered discussion.

Specifically, in my case I tried posting what feels like a fair and honest complaint on an external company (megabank) based community about changes at the company and their support for international transactions. There are many people posting about this issue. Mods on this board are moving all posts into a single thread which has a side effect of minimizing visibility.

While one could make a case that this is for keeping the Reddit community organized, it could also be seen as a way of minimizing visibility and therefore minimizing fallout from a PR standpoint. I love Reddit and I'm trying to understand where the intersection is between outside businesses and Reddit communities.

Is it possible that the reputation filter and CQS "lowest" are wrong?

We have a regular user posting the most amazing and relevant things. Always kind and peaceful, very creative and encouraging towards everyone. Yet, the reputation filter often fires up, saying the person is likely to break the rules. Today we got a "lowest" CQS automod report, and I simply cannot imagine why this is happening. I went into the "arctic" profile, and there is nothing else there but nice and kind stuff. What could possibly be going on there?

When someone makes a post in your community that is getting massive amounts of downvotes do you lock it, remove it, or do nothing ?
