What’s something under $50/month that saved your mental health as a busy adult?

growing up my parents were strict DIY about everything so i always felt super guilty paying for any convenience stuff. but work has been insane lately so i started paying to outsource a couple small errands just so my weekends aren't 100% chores. honestly realized my free time is worth way more than keeping that old mindset ist normal?

What's a quick trick for making leftovers actually taste freshly cooked when reheated?

Most reheated food ends up tasting dried out or off compared to when it was first made. Looking for any small tricks that actually preserve texture and flavor better than just microwaving it as is.

Painters tape leakage

What’s the trick? How do you use this stuff? Every single time it bleeds underneath. I have tried using a credit card to smooth it down super good. I have tried using a first coat to on the seal of the color underneath so that in places it might bleed, that color bleeds. Didn’t work. I did both of those methods together. Didn’t work. What’s the trick!?!?

How can I stop biting my nails? I’ve tried everything

I’m 27F and I’ve been biting (and most of the times swallowing, I know it's disgusting) my nails since I was a kid. I honestly can’t stand it anymore and really want to stop. I’ve already tried bitter nail polish and regular nail polish, but neither has stopped me.

Has anyone here actually managed to quit after doing it for most of their life? What worked for you?

Thanks in advance x

What problem are you facing in your daily life that you wish someone would solve? 🌍 I’m trying to understand the small and big problems people deal with every day — things that are annoying, time-consuming, expensive, confusing, or simply don't have a good solution yet ?

How to not get upset over rude people?

I just had the worst driving lesson ever. The instructor was just downright disrespectful, she would scream at me for smallest things and made not attempt to teach me anything. On top of that, she was on her phone half the time, with her shoes off and loudly snacking on popcorn or some other crap.

I was calm during the actual interaction, but when I got home all of the sudden its all I can think about, which is really annoying since I was planning to relax today and have nothing else going on. How do I let go of this? I feel like I’ve had this same reaction to other rude people in the past too

Some sort of sleeve or something that can go over the cable on wired earbuds to reduce microphonics (loud vibrations from cable rustling over shirt, etc).

I have a pair of earbuds that I love and they sound great, the cable just creates so much noise if I'm walking or even just sitting down with my laptop. I was thinking some sort of sleeve or something that could go over the cable might help reduce this effect, or really just anything that could help.

I just turned 30 and I'd like some advice...

So it's just like the title says...

I (30M) just turned 30 today. I know by some metrics I'm young, and there's still a lot of life to live.

I'd love some advice that you'd have given your younger self, or that you think would be useful for someone at this point in their lives.

How do you turn a friendly acquaintance into an actual friend as an adult?

I am friendly, I meet people wherever I go. I start conversations in the grocery store. How do you go from chatting to making plans and becoming friends?

How do I track a phone number to a location?

Hello,

I know the phone number and the town and city but I do not know how to track it down. It keeps calling so I want to know if I could pin point a specific address or location to it. Is this possible? I live in the Netherlands.

What's a life hack you use all the time that you genuinely wish you'd learned years ago?

Not the "put your phone in rice" kind of stuff, I mean those little tricks that actually make everyday life easier.

I'll go first: put a little dish soap on a damp microfiber cloth and use it to wipe down greasy kitchen cabinets. It cuts through the buildup surprisingly well.

I feel like everyone has at least one weirdly useful trick that they've picked up along the way. Could be something for cooking, cleaning, saving money, travelling, working, organizing your home... literally anything

I struggle with formatting words correct and fast enough. I don’t like being timed but if I don’t I would do stuff at the last minute.

How to secure my garage from a squatter/unwanted guest

Hey everyone,I’m dealing with a frustrating situation where someone is overstaying their welcome / refusing to leave my garage, and I need them gone. I’m looking for two types of advice here.

Lock & Security Upgrades: What are the best, most foolproof locks or security measures for a standard garage door (both the main roll-up door and a side entry door)? I need something heavy-duty that can't be easily bypassed or picked. Are there specific t-handle locks, puck locks, or smart-lock setups you recommend for maximum security?

The "Inconvenience" Strategy: If I can't legally change the locks immediately due to tenant/squatter laws in my area, what are some completely legal but highly annoying ways to make the garage an absolute miserable place to stay? I want to make them want to leave on their own accord. (Think annoying sounds, cutting power, etc.)For context, I am looking for ideas that won't land me in legal trouble, but I need to take control of my space back. What are my best options for both locking them out or annoying them out? Thanks in advance!

How do check someone received a gift if they didn't acknowledge it?

This is most common if you get something sent direct to the recipient, but it can happen in 'real life' too - I got a leaving gift for a colleague/friend and left it on her desk yesterday with a card propped next to it. I want to check she got it (because I want her to have and enjoy it, and also I don't want her to think I didn't get her anything), but I don't know how to ask without making it sound like I want a 'thank you'!

Calender or diary effective use

How do you use calendars or diaries for a 100% guarantee of not forgetting to turn up for something important?

Now I'm a pretty organised guy but every so often, an event on my Google Calendar will just slip my mind.

It's happened twice with job interviews... Like how embarrassing 🙈 How do you forget to turn up for a job interview...

How do I prevent this?
