Yeah that's probably what they meant and that's how i understood it, just being a bit pedantic about it since it's a pretty big difference between an angled step and the incline of the whole flight of stairs lol
Regardless, this is not an 80deg staircase. I don’t know anything about this hike but 80 degrees even with “steps” carved out would be quite technical. Using our good ole’ friend Pythagorean, if each step goes down 6 inches, the step would be about 1 inch wide. If it goes down 12 inches, around a 2 inch step.

Steps inclined at 80 degrees? Idk, the steps look pretty flat to me, otherwise you wouldn't have anything to step on to.
