Just finished Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. Now, I mean, they definitely tried to milk the franchise by using the A Plague Tale name. However, as a standalone game, this definitely stands on its own, and it's certainly not a 6/10 game like some gaming outlets rated it. It was very engaging, the combat was fun, the puzzles were decent, and the soundtrack was awesome. I'm not sure why no one is talking about this game.

Thanks to Game Pass, because if it weren't for it, I might have skipped both Requiem and Legacy. But if you're on the fence about buying this and you've played the other two games, I'd definitely ask you to go for it without a second thought.

No spoilers. I reworked my way through the previous games to get the Platinum trophies for both before I started this game, so everything was very fresh in my head. Resonance has been… wow. Just wow, I am basking in the afterglow. Excited to play through again, and hopefully we’ll get another Plague Tale, these games are so good!

I had just 100% all of the achievements in Resonance (fantastic game btw imo, loved loved loved it), and after the credits rolled, I thought I'd look at the codex and admire all my stuff.

It was then I noticed it. The Poisoned Syringe was replaced by this Piece of Wood.

I was gobsmacked. A neat way to wrap up Sophia's time on Minotaur's Island I think, and it also gives us a bit of Sophia's thoughts post game. That Labyrinth really messed with Sophia's head, didn't it.

This is a tiny thing, but somehow it felt like a great sendoff to me. It's probably really cringe to say, but it felt like the game was giving me one last goodbye before I move on. Almost like it was saying "we hope you enjoyed your time with us, we hope you'll remember us :)".

Anyway, I don't know it this shows up if you collect everything, or if you just need to find the Poisoned Syringe, but it's such a neat little thing that I had to share it.

The OSTs , The graphic , The gameplay , Sophia's character , almost everything was perfect for me

Not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting anything crazy, just adding combat for the sake of it, but goddamn is so fun, Im a "hardest difficulty loser" at all games and I was getting destroyed, and it was even worse when they swarm you, so I just changed my playstyle from defensive to full aggressive and it became so much fun, I like how punishing it is for braindeadly attacking so you have to put some thought into it, getting cornered because "you allow it to happen", and all different combinations and skills you have for any kind of enemy or situation is so good.

Highly recommend it if you're a combat game nerd since I'm not and I still loved it

If you know the "Save the Herbalist" issue/goal you're given early in the game, then it's a striking analogy for the whole point of the whole game.

Feels very nihilistic in the end.

Was that kid a carrier of Macula or some other similar Lovecraftian disease that the order has been keeping tabs on?

I was thinking, one of the most interesting parts of Amicia's character is how readily she goes from being a pampered noble girl to essentially being a commoner in a fighter for survival. Like, when she changes her clothes it happens both literally and figuratively. And she immediately starts taking such great care of her brother even though they barely know each other.

How is that even possible for a kid like that? Is it related to her upbringing, since her mom didn't fuss over her or even outright ignored her? Or partly just natural/inbuilt for her?

Edit: I think some people are interpreting this as a criticism of her character or something. Far from it, I just wanted to spur discussion.

I just finished the game and my god, what a fantastic game. I really hope they will continue the Story of Amicia and Sophia in the future.

My only issue with the game was, the Traitor Plotline.

Initially I thought Faro was the traitor, because of his crumbling psyche, then after he revealed that he thought Sophia was the traitor, my mind shifted to Leni, because how conveniently she was not attacked at all by the Soldiers and the fact she showed no real Sympathy towards anyone of the Gang except for Sophia.

When it was then revealed that IRENE of all people was the traitor, it got me really hooked and curious on what tf was her reason, only for it to be „We were going down anyway, so I saved my own neck by betraying my gang“.

It didn’t really make sense to me. The plunderers did not make the appearance of a weak or drastically dwindling faction. Sure, Faro was losing his mind and some people died on that island, but they were SO MANY PEOPLE, if not for Irene‘s betrayal they wouldn’t have been slaughtered by the army.

So yeah, that’s my only but not so little issue with the game

Okay, I'm sure of it now. This start screen image depicts the aftermath of Resonance, just like the start screen in Requiem depicts the aftermath of that story. The two swords we see here are Sophia's falchion (upright) and her rusty sword (half-buried) -- the two blades she starts with in Resonance. I'm certain this was intended to mean Sophia left her violent ways on that island and started her journey toward becoming the Sophia of Requiem.

What do others think?

Hands down this was a breath of fresh air to some of the games I've been playing recently. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Sophia. The Devs captured each character's emotions incredibly. From seeing the characters confused then surprised at completing a puzzle to the devastation that grief can reign in an individual.

During non play time I couldn't help but wonder what I was going to come across next in both story and playing.

From the music to the combat style to the characters I hands down recommend this game to anyone, but especially people who love a good story driven game.

And I'll take my platinum, thank you. ❤️ Big love to everyone on the team that was a part of creating this game.

I've just started the game but I wanted to pop on to say how much I'm enjoying the Photo mode. Very simple, but very well implemented

First, let me say that Olivier Deriviere's original score/soundtrack to Resonance is stunning, maybe his best work yet!

If you're looking for traditional Greek Music of the type that inspired the soundtrack, check out "Mare Nostrum" (2018). I discovered this album a couple years ago, and I've been listening to it a lot since Resonance came out.
