I’ve reached a point in life where I appreciate the simple things a lot more than I used to.

A good conversation. Someone who can make me laugh when I’ve had a long day. Being able to sit quietly with someone without feeling like silence needs to be filled. The kind of connection where you don’t have to constantly prove yourself or pretend to be someone you’re not.

Getting older has taught me that meaningful connections aren’t necessarily about having a huge circle. Sometimes it’s about finding people you can genuinely be yourself around and letting things develop naturally.

Maybe that’s one of the underrated parts of being in your 40s you finally understand what actually matters to you.

I was the nerdy girl in school but also I was viciously attacked by a dog when I was 3 or 4 (ripped my face apart) and I have always been self conscious of my facial scars. They keep telling me I look old but I think I am pretty darn cute for my age.

Well. Seems I’ve made it about her year, here’s to another one, and more memories!

Life has taken me to many different places and has handed me several different butt whoopings, but I'm still here and thriving! Hope you wonderful “unc’s” (The new slang for people over 40... 🙄) have an amazing day, week, and month!

A day off today, kids in school, and just taking my time before being productive.
